I was wondering how many of you read the books and watched the two movies so far?
What are your thoughts on the books. ( not the people that play them in the movies)

Haha, I was waiting for someone to post this sort of topic. I have not finished the first book yet. I am reading it but it is a slow process because I keep losing interest. Personally, I think Edward is sexy in the book and I like Jacob. However, I find no interest in Bella, I actually find her quite annoying and I just do not like her. My problems with the book other then Bella is the whole sparkling thing and I think the author really undermines the quality of a vampire character. Although, I must say that I don't like the author at all, since I read and interview with her all I can say is B****. I have chosen not to watch the movies because I do not like the actors.

Twilight movie was a laugh, and I am hearing that New moon was the same. But Die hard obessers of Robert Patterison and that jacob dude are not going to admitt it sucks. AS long as they see some skin. They really don't give a crap.

Oh I know. I have heard soo many complaints about Johnny Depp beating Pattinson for sexiest man of the year. I am like I'm sorry but Depp is gorgeous. I don't even find Pattinson that attractive, give me more of Brad Pitt as a vampire.
It is funny though, it's teenagers and most females I know that love Twilight. Then men and people who appreciate a good vampire novel that is not just a love story - which I don't get a vampire and a chick who gets sick at the smell of blood- but a good story that makes you love vampires again.

celticfireguardian Oh I know. I have heard soo many complaints about Johnny Depp beating Pattinson for sexiest man of the year. I am like I'm sorry but Depp is gorgeous. I guess they were okay... I thought the plot was kind of interesting, but I liked it more in New Moon when it was Jacob instead of Edward. Day-walking vampires irritate me to no end... And then there's the very cliche "girl falling in love with boy who endangers her" crap....... *Shrugs* I like the books as long as I'm not trying to get intellectually stimulated by them.

I still say, Edward is like over 100 years old, Bella when the story starts at is 17. That is just creepy. I don't care if Edward is stuck as in a 17 year old body. It's just ewww.

I don't like the Twilight series because it's merely an evolution of what boy bands were to pubescent teens in the 90's.
