For more information on Panymium, The Central Continent, please go to the World Atlas.

SHYREGOED: THE NORTHERN SANCT

CAPITAL
Colwe
HIGH RULER
Queen Valhalla
BASE OF
The Fellowship of Mages
CLIMATE/ENVIRONMENT
Cold throughout all seasons with chilly summers, mountainous, barren
Shyregoed(s), Shyregoedian(s)

With constantly freezing weather even in summer, and mountainous terrain, the citizens of Shyregoed endure some of the worst living conditions in Panymium and build their lives around it. Because of the harsh climates in Shyregoed, everything from trade to lifestyle to religion is affected, shaping a highly devout people who depend on Mishkan, Auvinus and Imisus for crop trade, and hunting and livestock raising for everything else. A Shyregoedian's ties with both animal and man are essential, as he might have to rely on his cattle to stay warm one hard winter's night, and his neighbour to feed him the next. No one, peasant or noble, can afford to be idle in Shyregoed, and even the elite upper classes are highly hardy and practical, woman and man alike. So too are Shyregoedians highly social, depending on their kin-groups and neighbours, and religion is a great solving agent which binds them together. Panymisian is essential and there is little room for dissent, so Obscuvian is much frowned upon in Shyregoed. The Fellowship of Mages makes Shyregoed their base, and their magic does much to make wintry routes passable in the worst weather.

IMISUS: THE EASTERN PORTS

CAPITAL
Gadu
HIGH RULER
King Fang
BASE OF
The Council of Sciences
CLIMATE/ENVIRONMENT
Constantly changing weather with extreme seasons, cultivated lands with some cities, fields and rolling hills with many trees
Imisese

With the highest population of the five regions of Panymium, Imisus has many cities compared to the rest of the continent. For this reason, it has attracted many modern minds, and institutions such as Trisica University have made the capital, Gadu, their home. Trade and industry in Imisus are regulated through trade guilds, many of which take part in political life in their cities as well. Imisus also supports peasantry who cultivate the arable land under the traditional tenant-system, but through religious schools, traditional nomad teachers who trade food and worn clothes for lessons, and the opportunity to flee to the city for education, people from any walk of life have a chance to forge their own fate with talent and effort, no matter how slim a chance that may be. King Fang encourages all innovation, and under his reign, the laws which normally tie people to the social class they are born in are lighter and easier than in the other regions of Panymium, so long as those who dare can prove their worth.

AUVINUS: THE BARREN SOUTH

CAPITAL
Nylle
HIGH RULER
King Tilane
BASE OF
The House of Obscuvos
CLIMATE/ENVIRONMENT
Very hot summers and constantly humid; vast, empty plains with few hills
Auvinian(s)

Barren and quite widely known as a no-man's-land, the few that live here are crop farmers and simple travelers from the southern reaches of the world. Filled with golden plains and lazing wildlife, the south is a simple place for people with simple lives. Because of its empty nature, Auvinus attracts a good amount of military activity, as well as many other suspicious actions. . .

MISHKAN: THE WESTERN EXCHANGE

CAPITAL
Pwlanarfyll
HIGH RULER
Queen Celia
BASE OF
The Panymium Working Party
CLIMATE/ENVIRONMENT
Constantly mild weather with perfect farming conditions, grassy, arable land with many wildlife/plants
Mishkanite(s)

Located in the west, Mishkan is the hub of trade, transport and technology-- famous for its peoples' eye-changing innovations and remarkable findings with the fusion of various studies, including science and magic, the Mishkanites promote a higher level of thinking that forms the image of Panymium across the world. Many of the continent's trade activities happen in Mishkan, and many of the citizens rely on the passing travelers and merchants that come to the west as a stopping place.

HELIOS: THE CENTER

CAPITAL
Aureola
HIGH RULER
Emperor Rine VIII
BASE OF
The Emperor
CLIMATE/ENVIRONMENT
Its inside borders are entirely man-made, filled to the brim with stone and marble; constantly similar weather throughout
Helian(s)

The central area of government activity and the meeting place of all parties, Helios attracts the center of all continent activity. The Emperor is said to live at the very center of area, whose borders are protected by a large stone fortress.

THE PANYMESE PRESS
A BRIEF DETAILING OF CURRENT EVENTS FOR THE CURIOUS PANYMESIAN.

1411.

ILLEGAL SHIPS FROM FOREIGN NATIONS-- WHY?
February 20th, 1411
Illegal trade ships and other ships alike have been abandoned on the shores of Panymium, where military officers have found numerous decks completely empty of people and otherwise. However, on February, a ship was laid in waste across the shore of Mishkan, with several people inside of it. The men found inside claim to be from Ardenth, and pleaded sanctions inside of Panymese borders until they can find a way back to their home nation. All shipmates have been put into prison.
Crewmen have admitted to Ardenth's currently decaying state, where the Black Death epidemic had reached its shores just a little over a month after Ardenth closed off its borders and trade routes from Panymium. Since then peasants and those of lower classes have suffered the brunt of the Black Death, and have frequently been attempting to make illegal immigrations to Panymium shore.
The Royal Parliament of Ardenth still refuses to open its borders back up to Panymium.

RIOTS ACROSS THE PROVINCES
January 1st, 1411
The new year has marked an entirely new hallmark as Imisus and Auvinus have started up full-scale riots against their upstanding Royal Families. Though King Fang as well as King Tilane's faction of knights have quelled much of the disorder in its main cities, many of the protesters have been moving to the safer areas of Helios, going so far as to stay overnight around Helios' borders upon reaching it.

1410.

EMPEROR FORCES NEW POLICY ON ROYAL FAMILIES
November 11th, 1410
Emperor Rine VIII, with full support from both Queen Valhalla, King Tilane, and King Fang, has completely reopened the borders of all Panymese nations to circulate the dying trade between the provinces. Though Mishkan's markets were heavily suffering by closed foreign borders both in Panymium, Queen Celia has held up many suspicions against the Emperor. Many of the travelers going through Mishkan must also be heavily aware of the Emperor's guards, all of whom have been fervently recording and checking incomers from the bordering nations of Shyregoed, Auvinus, and Helios.

LOCOS KILLED IN PUBLIC RITUAL
August 28th, 1410
Troupe de Panymium, a Panymium-renowned circus group, has recently been entirely convicted and banned for its affiliation with The House of Obscuvos. A sacrificial killing of a Locos girl was revealed at a province-wide gathering in Shyregoed at Colwe, where numerous Panymesians oversaw the death of an innocent Plague.
Queen Valhalla and the Fellowship are said to be working closely with each other to finally put an end to the chaos in Shyregoed brought upon by the House.

SHYREGOEDIAN PRINCES DIE OF THE BLACK DEATH
July 9th, 1410
Queen Valhalla's four of five sons, as well as one of three daughters, are said to have died by the Black Death. Though not all at once, the most recent death-- Prince Vos, marked a serious threat of the noble lineage.
Prince Sanne has been closely guarded and nurtured by Scientists from Imisus as well as the Queen of Shyregoed herself.

FALSIFIED CURES SPREAD THROUGH PIRATE MERCHANT SHIPS
June 17th, 1410
Blackened potions have been spread throughout the Panymese market through black markets in all areas of Panymium, save Helios.
While many believed it to be a cure for the Black Death, it speaks otherwise. All who have drunk the potion are now suffering from incessant itch, sweating, redness, lack of sleep, memory loss, and sensitivity to light.
Despite this, many of whom claim to have Plagues have seemed to notice the rapid improvement in Plague health upon consuming the potions, which has increased Plague endurance, strength, and general vitality.
The Emperor has announced the complete eradication of these potions from the market as soon as possible, and anyone possessing these potions will be sent immediately to death.

((OOC: For the negative effects of the black potion on humans, see mercury poisoning. Note that it isn't because the potion has any mercury in it, though.))

CULTIST SANCTIONS FOUND UP NORTH
February 12th, 1410
Cultists sanctions up north have been more frequent in recent months.
Abandoned Shyregoedian fortresses have been found with numerous Cultist sightings and Plague experimentation sites. The Fellowship has put its best efforts into crushing the Cultist rebellion up in the North, to an extremely slow effect.

1409.

PLAGUE SCANDAL
December 23rd, 1409
Suspicions about Plague scandals among numerous scholars are coming into question across the continent. With a recent spike in apparent "Plague" sitings, many have appeared to be "fake", others dare say "defective." Daringly enough, many of the wealthy class have pulled off scandalous "bribes" and "awards" to any who does find a Plague item-- some might dare say that Plagues are being treated as TOY PETS. Military officials across the continent are starting to pool reports, where numerous independent "scientists" and "mages" have been trying to sift through information to make Plagues themselves. Neither the Fellowship nor the Council account of any affiliation with said scholars.

BARREN CITIES-- MISHKAN REFUSES ENTRANCE
December 23rd, 1409
With a sudden peak in the Black Plague as of late, many cities across the Continent have been titled "ghost cities". Some precincts in Imisus and Auvinus have fallen victim to empty population and mass migrations to Mishkan; with a rush of nearly 1 million across the continent, Mishkan has refused to let many through its borders. General Aldrige muses, "Many of the people we have denied entrance are risking the safety of native Mishkanite citizens. It is our utmost duty to protect the well-being of our people, first and foremost."

ADMITTING ENTRANCE-- PARTIES LOWER STANDARDS?
December 23rd, 1409
Recently, many leading parties have refused the admittance of many applicants throughout Panymium. During the Fellowship's induction ceremony if not a few weeks ago, passersby recount sitings of a fair amount of 'toddlers' and 'young ones', of which were all toting a Plagued item. Many politicians and critics issue the dangerous risks and gambles in which the parties are lulling themselves into.

FIFTH ANNIVERSARY OF 'THE DAY' - STILL NO CURE?
December 19th, 1409
With the half-decade anniversity of Diefendorf's hanging, the Council of Sciences have yet to find a cure for the Black Death.

1404.

IMMIGRANTS STUCK IN PANYMIUM
December 25th, 1404
Emperor Rine VIII and his Court, as well as the surrounding Continents, has decreed an official ban on immigrants moving in and out of the Continent. All ships moving in and out of Panymium have been completely banned, save for merchant ships.

DIEFENDORF HANGED
December 19th, 1404
Accused of misconduct and misuse of human life by the Council of Sciences, the same party in which Diefendorf was stationed, the scientist's life was taken in the capital of Imisus.

1399.

PLAGUES CAN BE RAISED?
December 19th, 1399
Found in the hands of a mysterious figure with alias "The Plague Doctor", a child by the name of Georgie Malt was found with a human-like Plague, "born" from a Hat.
