A large, traditional-style Japanese mansion in the Port Island area, the Kuzunoha estate has been owned by 'Y. Garasu' for several hundred years, and only inhabited for some of them. Well, inhabited by the living. The mansion is widely thought to be extremely haunted (one of the most haunted places in Japan, as a matter of fact), and few people have the nerve to approach. Unlike most supposedly haunted places, however, the Kuzunoha estate actually is. The estate is currently inhabited by Raidou Kuzunoha the XIX, who uses it as her base of operations. Uninvited guests are not welcome, and unpleasant things tend to happen to those who sneak in... especially reporters looking to film a story. The building is located on top of a major underground line of spiritual energy, and strange effects occasionally occur as a result of this.

The doors slowly swung open to reveal Raidou Kuzunoha inside the main hall... and some ways back from the doors. Too far to have opened them and dashed backwards, certainly. The estate was said to be haunted, after all, so who knew what strange things might be happening? "Welcome." Raidou said simply. She strode forward and handed Meimei a thick envelope. A reasonable (and correct) assumption would be that it contained money... five-hundred thousand yen, to be exact, in ten-thousand yen bills. "Come inside and start with dinner. I'm thinking eggs, sunny side up, rice, and sashimi will be good, and apple pie for dessert. I'll want a bath afterwards, as well as a backrub. My shoulders are a bit stiff today." she appeared to be starting right off with a list of things she wanted the girl to do... Raidou finally had her servant, after all, and intended to get her money's worth (and then some) out of Meimei.

Raidou blinked. She usually went barefoot, or wore her usual shoes; sturdy and servicable, with a steel-linedtoe for kicking. The mansion was quite traditional... she was not. With a shrug, though, she put the slippers on. They seemed comfortable enough, with room to wiggle her toes, although somebody was likely to have chewed on them before morning. Most likely Fluffy, really... but Meimei didn't know anything about that yet. Raidou was looking forward to the girl's reaction when she found out just what sort of thing she had signed on to. Maybe she was one of those rare people who seemed weak but were strong inside and could go with the flow... that would be interesting as well. Stretching slightly, Raidou wandered back towards the eating room, where she took a seat, pulled out the latest report sent to her, and started studying it. One of the main reasons for finding a servant was that she had work to do, and more than a little. She was Raidou, after all. There were more important things to do than dishes.

When Meimei did turn around, she would find that a sack of rice had been placed next to the rice cooker for her to use... a sack that most definitely hadn't been there before. Raidou glanced up as she heard the rustling. The new servant probably couldn't see the other inhabitants of the mansion... including Alice, who was standing invisibly on the other side of the counter, a young spirit-girl. "We'll need three servings, by the way." Raidou told Meimei as Alice nodded vigorously, before returning to the report.

Raidou didn't even look up at the knock. Instead, as would probably be expected, the door simply... opened. Well, that was how it would appear to most people; Alice was the one doing the opening and closing of things, which did nothing at all to prevent the image of the mansion as seriously haunted. Most people, after all, couldn't see the spirit. Raidou was entirely aware of this rather amusing fact.

The main doors closed as the girl attempted to move forward, blocking her from truly stepping inside. One thing known about the Kuzunoha estate was that casual visitors were not welcome in the slightest bit. Invitation was the only acceptable way to go, and Raidou did that by putting a special energy 'feel' on a person. Alice hadn't felt that, and thus, had closed the doors on the girl quite firmly. The Mistress' guests were welcome... nobody else was, no matter who they were.

Meimei nodded her head at Raidou's orders before turning around to look for an apron to wear only to see a sack of rice that she knew wasn't there before. She opened the bag and removed the amount she thought was needed and started to wash the rice until the water was clear. Once the rice was finished being washed she placed the pot in the cooker and turned it on, she turned around to start on the sashimi so it could be chilled before being served.

Rose Harrumpthed, as she started to head off. Obviously, Raidou must have been busy if she didn't want to hang out with her today.
Oh well, nothing lost.

She skated off, not wanting to remain around there any longer.
Of course, now she had an afternoon with nothing to do.
