We're thinking of trying this RPG in the forum. Anyone care to join, but do note that certain features might be changed to adapt it to Gaia's limited Dice system.

A Quick Update.

Example Profile

User Image

As you can see this is an example profile, it's quite a variety of stuff as well. Use it as an example of how to lay things out. Here is a quick rundown:

At the top in the red text is name, clique and Character Points. You start with 10 Character points, more in some cases, and any additional ones are picked up by adding flaws.

Odds and Ends are pretty much IRL me, I do have a bit of a thing for Relentless Energy Drinks (But not as bad as it shows here xD) and I am somewhat scared of dogs. I can't see more than a few feet in front of me much without my glasses and I'm pretty much wearing whatever I damn well feel like it. I can sometimes end up napping a couple times a day etc...

All these are flaws and gave me extra Character Points to build my character. With them I added Hack+2, Mecha Combat/Operation, Rich and Ultratech Background. These CP's can also be used to jack up your character stats too. Eg, the Junkie part gives me +2CP, you could put these into one of your 4 Characteristics, like increasing BOD to Good.

Try and be creative but really don't overdo it.

Making your Character:
1. Choose a name for your character, and write it down on your paper.
2. You get 10 character points to spend on your character. Spend them wisely. In some cases people may be granted additional character points.
3. Purchase your Four Characteristics and write them down on your paper. You start at average for each characteristic, and it costs 2 points for each increase in a characteristic, or you can lower a characteristic for 2 additional character points. (The last 3 levels Incredible, Monstrous and Ultimate may NOT be purchased unless given permission.)
4. Don’t worry about picking a Clique, make one of your own then pick 2 free talents. And Talents only. You may also pick two of the same talent if you wish, e.g. Pounce+2, Hack’n’Slash+2
5. Starting with your pool of points, select the Talents and Super Talents you want your character to have. Add the bonus Favoured Talent(s) they get for their clique. Write them all down. Each Talent and Super Talent requires points from your Character Points pool.
6. Pick any Odds and Ends you have points left over for, or give yourself points by choosing flaw from the list. Write them down. Try and give your character variety.
7. Select your Stuff and write it down. Poor characters get $2500 to spend, normal characters get $5000 to spend and Rich characters get $10,000. Any cash you happen to have after picking your Stuff (Weapons, armour etc) may be kept for later.
8. Congrats, you're done! Easy as pie.

Changes to Money System

Items that are found during game-play can be sold off at 50% - 75% of their purchase price. Rare and Unique items can be sold off at 125% and 150% their listed price respectively. You may feel free to say how you sell your items, either to another player or even ‘online.’

RICH (0 to 6 points)
You happen to have an ample supply of cash either from your parents, a benefactor or which you earn yourself from certain means. Rich players automatically get $150 a week on top of anything listed.

User Image

POOR (Get 3 point back)
You did not grow up with a lot of money in the family, and your attendance at the Wilde Home is paid for entirely through grants and scholarships. Poor characters are stuck with a handmade or hand-me-down wardrobe (pity the poor Fashionista!), some nice if simple jewellery (usually heirlooms from better times in the family), and not much else. Poor characters do not get any pocket money other than the monthly stipends they receive for chores done at the Wilde Home. If they want more money, they have to find a way to earn it. Employment outside the Home is strongly discouraged, leaving them to hustle for additional chores, tutoring students who can spare a little dough, or run the risk of getting expelled pursuing illicit activities for their spending money.

(The change to this is the additional 2 points you get back. If you can cope with starting up poor.)

CREDIT CARD – BASIC (1 point)
You have a credit card issued in your parents’ name that you are authorized to use. The card has a limit of $5000 and an unreasonable interest rate. The parents expect you to make the payments, and to use the card only for “emergencies.” The parents will only bail you out once if you miss the past due date or can’t come up with the money (this will naturally require much whining and begging over the phone to secure.) Handy to have for times when you need to buy something and don’t have the cash. Note the amount of the credit card purchase on your character record sheet. The Headmistress decides when a credit card bill is due, though bills never come due within the same session of play if the character had no previous balance prior to a credit card purchase in that session. The inability to make a payment means that your card will be frozen by the issuer until you can pay the entire balance plus a suitable penalty fee (20%). The minimum amount that is due every month is 5% of the total balance.

CREDIT CARD – Gold (2 points or less/free in some cases.)
Forbidden: Poor
You have a credit card issued in your name with your parents securing the account. The card has a limit of $10,000 and a reasonable interest rate. The parents expect you to make all of the payments, and to use the card only for “emergencies.” Wishful thinking, we know, but the parents will only bail out a spendthrift character after much begging, crying, pleading, and foolish promising. Details for use are the same as for Credit Card. The minimum amount that is due every month is 3% of the total balance.

CREDIT CARD – PLATINUM (3 points or less/free in some cases.)
Forbidden: Poor
You have a credit card issued in your name with your parents securing the account. The card has a limit of $25,000 and a preferred interest rate. Details for use are the same as for Credit Card. If your character is RICH, she is not expected to make the payments on her credit card – that will be taken care of by the family’s accountants. If she is not RICH, and somehow managed to score such a premium line of credit, she will be expected to make the payments as per the other credit cards. The minimum amount that is due every month is 1.5% of the total balance.

BE WARNED: Certain Aspects may be changed or added! Make sure you keep up-to-date and check back often.

Another Update

Special Rules for races:
1. Felines must have a LOOKS and BRAINS rank of Good or higher and may not have a BOD rank higher than Average. They get Claws, Fangs, Enhanced Sense – Hearing and Nightvision with no cost to their Creation Points. Must take the Sleepyhead.
2. Canines must have a BOD of Good and a BRAINS rank of no better than Good. They get Claws, Fangs and Goes to Eleven with no cost and must take on a Duty.
3. Lapines must have a BOD and LOOKS rank of Good or higher and a BRAINS rank no higher than Good. They get Vamp, Makeover and Charm with no points cost but must take Boy/Girl Crazy.
4. Vulpines must have a BRAINS rank of Excellent and may not have a BOD rank higher than Excellent. They get Claws, Fangs, Enhanced Sense – Vision, and Shapeshifter with no cost. However must take Proud and Honourable.
5. Elvenkind must have a BOD rank of no more than Average and get +2D damage while using bow weapons (excluding crossbows) and +1D damage while using either the Wakazashi, Katana or Tachi. (See Melee Weapons.) They may also pick Nature Magic+2 or Alchemy+2 free. Elvenkind may not use Ultratech.
6. If you really want to, you can be a normal human being. Humans cannot be Feral, nor may they have Claws, Fangs, Horns, Wings or Magical Powers. They may not use Ultra-tech.

To promote diversity in characters, players may include species/creed/faction with their character profiles. After all, there are many types of Elves, Felines and Human Factions (Europe, USA, Asia etc.) So with these new additions in effect:

User Image

New Gameplay Additions
1. Players with a BRAINS rank of Excellent or higher get an additional 1D of damage when using Ultratech weapons.
2. Players with a BOD rank of Excellent or higher get an additional 1D to damage reduction while wearing armour or carrying a shield. (Does not stack, e.g. Wearing armour and a shield still only gives the +1D damage reduction, not 2D.)
3. Unique weapons may never be acquired again if they have already been found and if lost have a high chance of never being discovered again unless you set out to find it, or re-acquire it if it was taken.

Earning Gem Points
Gem Points are earned at the end of a successful roleplay mission or story arc. You can earn them in many ways, and can be given how the current Game Master (GAM), see’s fit. For example, your character risks their life to save a fellow player from certain death which nearly results in their both having a one way ticket to the afterlife of their choice. Of course, if you’re playing a bad guy this is different, you can’t simply wuss out and help your arch-enemy out of a deathly situation, you won’t get any Gem Points for not sticking to your characters alignment. Simply head on over and give them a gentle push to oblivion.

Likewise, Gem Points can be given for:
Achieved the Play Session Goal = 1 to 3 GP
Playing your Character well = 1 to 3 GP
Good Roleplaying Fun = 1 to 3 GP
Success Bonus = 1 point for defeating a difficult foe, at the Discretion of the Roleplay Master
Extra Credit = 1 point for one of the players, to be awarded by a vote of all players.
Failure to stick to your Characters build = Lose 1 to 3 GP
God-modding = Instantly Lose 1 GP

Gem Points can be converted into Character Points to further develop your character. The rules stay the same as you created your character at the beginning. For each level of your Four Characteristics it costs 2 points above the rank of Average and as many points as it states for each Trait, Super Trait and Odds and Ends.

As well as Character Points, Gem Points can be used to make your own Unique Items. Unfortunately this is costly to minimise the amount of unique items out there. After all, they’re meant to be unique. Unique items are also to be approved by the current GAM, and described in as much detail as possible once the stats have been worked out.

User Image

For example from this table to make a Unique Medium Ultratech Rifle (3GP+2GP) which has a damage of 5D (3GP) and a range of 1000ft (1GP) it will cost 9 Gem Points to create it.

However, these weapons cannot be sold, or valued and if you lose it you may never make it again unless you act to recover it. Any ammunition it’s thought being your weapon you make it yourself meaning you must spend time and money to make the ammo, the time and cost will be dependant on the decision of the GAM.

BE WARNED: Certain Aspects may be changed or added! Make sure you keep up-to-date and check back often.
