I'm just curious, but why is it that I have rights like other kids, but I don't have a normal bedtime like other kids? I just don't get it..... I understand bed time, yet I don't get following rules like. "no prom" or "you can't go to the dance" it's like they were made to take all the fun out of my life gonk

Your parents (probably) care very much about you and want the best for you. They most likely are worried that you'll do something stupid at a dance, or that you wont get enough sleep if you go to bed when you want to.

Parents tend to baby us, especially if we're only children or the youngest child. It's in their nature. If you have a problem with the rules that they have, bring it up with them in a nice manner, starting with something small. Don't yell and scream if you don't get what you want, and if you do get it, make sure to be thankful. Ask them about their reasoning if you're still confused on the whole issue. If trust is an issue, give them a reason to trust you by becomming more responsible. Hope that helps a bit.
