As you all have guessed by looking at my signature I am a really big X-Man fan and my favorite is Gambit. Recently I have been getting a little itch to tell Gambit's story. So here it is.

This fan fic is going to be for more mature audiences, there will be language and blood and other things that I don't want to traumatis younger people with.

And for people who are not up to speed on poker lingo, a deadman's hand consists of nothing but aces and eights.

Chapter One
Training

The baby lay in the bassenette sleeping ever so soundly that you would have thought that the room was empty. Sarah LeBou stared at the beautiful child and tears came to her eyes. Her husband Ben stood off to the side admiring his wifes reaction to her gift. Being leader of the Theives Guild was exciting in so many ways but staeling a child, well that was a new one to the Guild. His wife seemed plaesed with the boy. From what Ben knew the child was young, about a week of so old, and was rather cute.
It had light brown har and almost violet colored eyes. It was very quiet for a child of his age, he hadn't made a sound when they stole him from his crib only an hour ago. His wife swallowed and touched the babies head. Her eyes expressed more love than he had ever seen. He knew that she would be pleased. After all he knew she wanted children even though she was baren. So he rectified the situation. It wasn't just for her though, it was for him as well. For him and the Guild. He needed an heir.
"He's perfect!!" Sarah gushed as she continued to stare at her new child.
"I thought you would approve." Ben replied very pleased with himself.
"What is his name?" Sarah inquired as she lifted the child out of it warm bed and into her arms.
"I don't know. Since he's ours now I thought it only proper that his new mother should name him." Be replied.
Sarah rocked the sleeping child in her arms gently not wanting to wake him. There was no thought of the boys real parents or what had been done to them as she kissed the baby's forehead. All she knew was he was her's now and that was all that mattered.
"I'll name him, Remy. Remy LeBou. Don't you think that's a handsome name dear?" Sarah asked.
"Of course. Now he's our's now Sarah but you need to know that this boy is going to be my heir someday and he needs to be trained as such. You understand don't you?" Her husband asked as he grinned evilly.
"Of course dear whatever you need to do." Sarah replied not really paying any attention to him.
"Good." Her husband thought as he walked out of the room.
Seven Years Later......
Remy rubbed his tender cheek as he felt a welt begin to rise on it. The man who his father had appointed to train him smiled sadistically at him. Remy only glared back.
"How many times do I have to tell you? If you can't get the wallet out of the the pocket without ringing the bell, I'm gonna hit you." He cracked his knuckles in a threatening way.
Remy continued to rub his sore cheek and tried to keep back the tears of frustration from runing down his face. There was no point in telling his father, hell his father was the one who suggested the punishment for his inability to complete even the simplests of tasks for the Thieve's Guild, picking someone's pocket. Most kids got the hang of it by about six and were wlready experts by the age of seven but Remy found it frustrating. His face was already swollen to twice it's normal size. He was going to be black and blue tomorrow. He wiped his mouth and then approached the bell laidened dummy. He knew the wallet was in the back pocket of the dummy's pants. The trick was getting it without ringing the bells on it's pants or jacket.
He approached causiouly and lifted the coat very delicatly. He held his breath expecting the tinkling sound of the bell but none came. He let out a shaky breath and reached gingerly for the bulged wallet in the fake person's pocket. He grasped it and slowly started pulling it out, once it was out he let out a breath and then...bumped the dummies arm. The tinkling of the bell seemed to be so much louder than it sould have been. His trainer's, Ambrose, hand shot out and slammed into the boy's stomach. Remy hit the ground rollong and gasping for air. Once he came to a stop he started coughing up blood. Still trying to get air he hacked and gasped only to feel a sharp kick to his ribs.
"You incompitent little brat!!" Ambrose growled as he advanced again.
Remy held his ribs as he started to try and crawl away. Ambrose's had longer legs though. Another sharp kick was delivered to his ribs, a pop was heard.
"You can't get a ******** walett out of a dummies pocket?! What kind of dumbass are you?! Worthless peice of garbage!!" Ambrose shouted as he continued to deliver kicks to the seven year old.
Remy cried out and whimpered as the beating continued. A kick to his head sent him flying towards a wall and made him see stars. Suddenly a thought occured to him. What if Ambrose didn't stop? He had heard stories about the cruelty of Ambrose and things that he had done to some children. He was a killer, Remy knew that. He was the one who "cleaned up" if anyone in the Guild slipped up.
"Your not worthy to be the heir to the Guild!!" Ambrose shouted as his leg flashed out again.
Suddenly Remy felt strange, as though his skin was tingling. For some reason instead of trying to dodge the kick he caught the leg. He gripped Ambrose's leg tightly as a strange purple light traveled up his hands aand spread onto the older man's leg.
"Hey what the ******** are you..." His voice was cut off by an eardrum cracking explosion.
Remy found himself standing over Ambrose, who was now screaming and missing a leg. Blood dripped off of the walls and off of Remy. People started rushing in from outside. Remy looked up and fixed the group wilh nothing else but a look of pure murderous rage. No one moved as Ambrose quickly began to bleed out on the floor. Remy's fists were tightly balled and glowing purple. Peopel moved aside as Guild's doctor came through and began treating Ambrose. Remy watched them.
