spaceI think we should have a thread dedicated to making praise and worship for the Lord. It could be a rhyming poem, a non-rhyming poem, a haiku, or just you thanking and worshiping Jesus. It doesn't have to be long and complex, though I think a little extra effort for God wouldn't hurt. wink So, I'll start by sharing a few things I wrote in the past, and....I don't have titles for all of them, but I think it works. xd
(You might notice that each one gets longer and slightly more complex.)
My first one for Him:
For a while I was confused
For a while I didn't understand.
You where trying to tell me your will.
And now that I've heard you
I will sing to you
The songs that I have made
To show that I love you too.
My second:
Here I am now,
Getting ready to pray
In my room before bed.
Then I realize
I don't know what to say.
After all that you've done for me,
With Your mercy, love and grace,
I've hurt you countless times
At a surprising pace.
I was a lamb blinded by the darkness,
Who rammed into the shepherd,
But all of that could have been avoided,
If only I had listened for your word.
It's all in the past now
But I just can't see
How I could mindlessly hurt you
When all you were doing
Was loving me.
My third:
In the beginning
All was well,
Until we sinned,
Then we fell.
We fell so far
That all was lost.
God started over
With a flash flood holocaust*.
Then for a while
All was well,
But not for long,
Again we fell.
The Lord knew that
Only pure blood shall
Forgive all sins
Once and for all.
He humled Himself
And walked among us
And all just so
He could die for us.
What great love t'was
That humbly came down
So now I
Cast my Crowns.
*((sorry if the word "holocaust" offends anybody, but it rhymed, and holocaust doesn't just refer to what happened in WWII, it is also an actual word))
"Above the Clouds" fourth one:
Words
Connot help me describe
Anything about
You
Songs
Cannot completely satisfy
My need for
You
Dreams
Cannot nearly percieve
The beauty of
You
But one day
I will be able to finally
Describe you,
Be satisfied with you,
And percieve you
When:
I'll float up high
Above the clouds
The trumpets will sound,
Nice and loud.
St. Peter there to greet me,
And no doubt very proud
To see that it's me,
And everyone else will join Him
In perfect union
And all above the clouds.
Where true happiness
Is no surprise
Where new colors spread forth
Before your eyes,
The life that begins
After you die,
And all high above
The familiar blue sky.
Where all your dreams
Can finally come true,
Where Jesus
Can actually walk with you,
Where you can finally see
Your Creator, yes that's true,
And all beyond
The infinte blue.
But first
We must decide
To follow Jesus
Before we die.
We must choose
To drop our nets,
Become fishers of men,
Or else we loose the bet.
If you want to go above the blue,
You must first be true
To what Jesus wanted you to do
And after you do....
You can join me too
In a place where:
We float up high
Above above the clouds.
The trumpets will sound,
Nice and loud.
St. Peter there to greet us,
And no doubt very proud
To see all of us,
And everyone else will join Him
In perfect union
And all above the clouds.
Where true happiness
Is no surprise,
Where new colors spread forth
before your eyes
The life that begins
After you die,
And all high above
The familiar blue sky.
Where all your dreams can finally come true,
Where Jesus can actually
Walk with you
Where you can finally see
Your Creator, yes that's true!
And all above
The infinite blue.
But if you want to go above the blue,
You must first be true
To what Jesus wanted you to do.
And after you do....
You can join me too.
Now it's your turn! If you feel called to praise the Lord, go ahead! And remember, it doesn't have to be of any certain length; it doesn't even need to rhyme! And take note that these four poem things were written by me over about 1 to 2 years. I didn't just make them up yesterday! So don't feel that you have to do multiple ones at once. It could be "JESUS I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!" So don't feel like you're not talented enough, because everyone can do it! biggrin
