Derecho wasn't sure what his sister was up too, but he was sure going to find out - he couldn't have her getting hurt after all. Or having more fun then him..though he told himself it was the threat of her getting hurt which caused him to bound over and inspect what she as doing with quick pale eyes.
"what are you doing?" He questioned her while simoultaneously butting her aside slightly with his shoulder so he could get a better look - no...so he could make sure it wasn't dangerous he corrected himself.

The sun was high and the clouds had parted just enough to wake the poor, little fluff ball. The eye's of the youngest pup to the alpha's litter popped open and her day began. She stumbled uneventfully from the large den, Momma and Dad to find a.. "Big bug!" The sun had brought a gift she assumed and soon parted, not to far, from the den's entrance to play.
It was not only moments later that her older brother, Derecho, came to her side and butted her out of the way. She'd killed the stiff 'big bug' and had been unhappily nosing it, thinking like most pups do that it's 'just sleeping'.
"Hey!" She shouted, her tone matching her wrinkling nose and distraught stance. "I was playing with my sleeping friend." Her retaliation was to butt her head to his side. She'd have none of his take overs today, she'd had enough of that to last a life time. But, she was only little. "Don't make me get Mom!" She threatened, butting him again.

"Shush!" Derecho told her raising a paw to shove her away when she tried to butt him for the second time. "If you wake them up with all your yelling your going to get us both in trouble!" He warned her before inspecting the 'sleeping friend' The bug was pretty ugly looking to him and as laying on its back with its feet all curled over, reaching out a paw he tapped it lightly making a harrumph sound when it didn't respond.
"Your friend is boring" He told his sister "And don't you know some of those things can bite? Merrill told me theres all sort of biting things out here..you should be more careful" He warned her before glancing about to make sure none of said dangerous things were around.

Tempest fell to her bottom as she was shoved away nearly about to make an accusation that he probably hurt her more than that bug would've. "He's not boring!" She grumbled, a glare glinting brightly. "And Merrill is just a silly party pooper who says nothing but, bad things. She hasn't a good or fun word in her!" She growled at the end of that sentence. She disliked Merrill and all her rules. She disliked it very much.
"Now leave my friend alone, we want to play some more and if they wake up its' your own darn fault." But, she knew deep down it'd be the end of both of them if their parents awoke even for a split moment, wandering from the den was prohibited by her Mum because of the dangers but, what would a pup be if they didn't wander every now and again.

"Merrill is the beta!..she's smarter then you'll ever be!" Derecho told his sister with a smug look on his face as she fell back, thankfully she didn't start crying - Derecho might like to tease his siblings but he never really wanted to hurt them and besides whenever one of them started crying their parents always showed up double quick to find out why.
Catching sight of another bug - this one trundling along the leaf litter her motioned at it with his head "That one looks allot more interesting sis" Alright - so maybe he felt a little bit bad about pushing her down - and now he was trying to make up for it.

That stung Tempests feelings but, instead of getting all teary eye'd she stood up and huffed a bit, how dare he insult her wits. "She's just old." Her statement, no matter how true, would get her knocked into a corner by the 'old' beta. She sighed softly and was just about to give up on this conversation to no where when her brother spotted another playmate.
"Really?" Her eye's lit up, much like her Father's and she romped over to her brother. "Oh!" She exclaimed, now happy as can be, her brother was great to her, when he wasn't being overly mean. She smiled softly and bent down at the bug, nose in it's face and eye's staring down at it intently. She'd obviously forgotten the other bug.
"We should start a collection!" She stated proudly, she loved finding things and bringing them to their parents. "It'd be a nice present." She smiled sweetly, a smile that on certain days was just deception in the form of cute fluffy ball. She was generally in a wide variety of moods all at once and most of them could lead her to trouble.

Derecho flicked an ear as his sister considered well what he wasn't quite sure - standing up to him maybe? or perhaps running off - whatever foolish idea she'd had planned however was quickly forgotten when he pointed out the second bug. Neat trick to remember that one, and she seemed perfectly happy now.
"And where are you going to put them all?" He asked her after a few moments thought, he wasn't sure what good a collection of bugs would be but gathering them all up might be fun. "I guess maybe we could dig a hole?" he suggested.

She had already thought of the hole idea, maybe 'redecorating' the den, creating a shelf type thing for their collection. "Hrm.. But, would they run away? I don't think all bugs like to sleep as much as the first one is." She slumped a bit thinking loong and hard.
"Maybe bug collecting isn't the best idea? What about pretty rocks, by the water?" She remembered a small talk her and her Father had had about the river, it ran quickly and could easily slip her away from where she stood if she entered the wrong part. But, there were pretty rocks just by the banks of it.
"Cmon!" She shouted, her mind made up fast and legs ready to move just as fast. She bolted away from the bug scene quickly, paws crushing the pretty bug to bits as she got excited. Did the pup notice? Not one bit.
"Hurry up Derecho!" She smiled happily and barked a shivery tune before getting closer to where the water was.

Derecho cast a glance behind him as Tempest ran off, his eyes casting over the rest of the still sleeping family. He was pretty sure they weren't allowed to go to the river by themselves and this was probably going to get them into trouble..but well..he couldn't very well let his sister go without him now could he?
No he could not..why she might get hurt and so with his actions completely justified in his mind Derecho trotted after his rushing sibling "Just be careful!" He warned her as they reached the river bank. If their parents caught them - wel; he'd tell them he had just followed tempest here to bring her back to the Den before she got hurt. But since they were here now he figured he might as well help her look for a pretty rock or two and began to dig wildly through the gravel flinging the tiny stones every which way behind him. What the heck did his sister consider a 'pretty' stone anyways? A shiny one mayhap? "How about this one?" He asked pointing to a shiny looking one he'd uncovered.

She reached the bank, it was covered in beautiful arrays of rocks, from browns to mossy greens and sparkling shades of gray. She was about to say something then was stopped by his typical 'be careful' when would he understand that he wasn't her Father. "Never, probably." She muttered this to herself and began snuffling aside rocks she deemed not pretty enough.
She found one by the time Derecho had gotten there and found his rock for her. She accepted his rock and smiled at him.
"Thank-you!"

Well she had two rocks now and by his way of thinking anything beyond one could be considered a collection. Besides he certainly didn't want to be stuck carrying a bunch of rocks back to the Dens. "Your welcome" He told her a bit gruffly. No matter how much fun it had been digging about for the rock - he didn't want her to think he enjoyed her funny little games too much. Otherwise she'd be forever pestering him to take part in them.
"How many rocks are you going to get?" He asked her after a few more moments - and rather hoped that she said two was enough. Knowing his sister however it probably wouldn't be.

Her jaws had the two rocks in them, she liked the fresh feeling it had. The smoothness of it's surface was entrancing until his question broke it. She lowered her head a bit more to set down her precious 'gems' then snuffled and nosed the ground some more. "I want tons! All the pretty rocks! Mom and Dad will LOVE them." She smiled at the appealing looks she imagined getting.
"And if you help me Mom and Dad will praise you too!" She smirked proudly, she didn't hate her brother and wanted him to be praised to, she imagined herself being his closest sibling and her's being his. She hadn't much talked to the others just yet and found that they preferred staying in the den or around it rather than having fun.
Though her kinda fun wasn't the kind that stayed within the rules. She giggled softly and began digging some more, finding a few more rocks.

Derecho let out a soft huff of breath as she declared she wanted all the pretty rocks..his eyes cast up an down the stream bed. Surely she didn't actually mean all the pretty shiny rocks because well the river to his eyes look pretty darn big and went on right out of sight. It would take an entire lifetime to find and carry back all the stones.
"And how are we going to carry them all back?" he questioned her with a slightly arched brow.

She hadn't quite thought that all the way through. Carrying them back? "Why on earth would I carry them all back?" This plan was plotting as she spoke, intelligence bright in her eye's. "We'll bring back a teaser, than we shall bring them here to the motherload!" She could have cackled had she known how to.
"That! Is what we shall do, brother." She smiled proudly, then was quick to begin scavenging up a good deal more rocks. Her mind on the goal of finding them all but, knowing logically that was impossible.
She soon had her 'take home pile' and a much larger pile of 'precious stones'. Exhausted, she looked to Derecho and smiled in a giving up fashion. "Let's go show them!" Her tail flicked as she snatched up a few of their prize jewels and then turned on her paw and was dashing off. Leaving Derecho with the piles.

Derecho let out a long suffering sigh as his sister dashed off and after eying the pile for a suitable rock and choose one to carry back himself - because if he arrived without one Tempest would probably pout. Picking up the chosen rock - a flat one with a bit of pink streaked through it Derecho trotted back to the dens leaving the rock piles behind.
Undoubtedly Tempest would rouse their parents and drag them back to the river to look at them.
