Demyx had snorted awake at the sound, his flailing form nearly knocking over the sitar that had been precariously perched against one of his legs as he snoozed away. What the -hell- had that been? It was an unnerving sound, one that had caused the sitarist to recoil into the couch. It was only when his body was pulled into a sort of ball on one end, the sitar itself leaning against the arm of the couch so he could grab it if necessary, that he felt relatively safe.
It had sounded suspiciously like a scream. But...who the hell would be screaming here? It was only him and Xigbar in the castle as far as he knew. And the dusks, of course, but those couldn't speak.
Maybe it was his imagination? ...Yeah! That was it! Some leftover remnant of a dream or something. Noooo problems here, none at all!
So why did he feel so uneasy?
Whatever man, whatever. All this business of being spooked was eating up his valuable napping time. He didn't move to get out of his protective ball, but instead decided that if he shut his eyes he could get back to the peaceful land of the sleeping.
If only he knew...

If only he'd known indeed. If only he'd known of the sniper that was now on the warpath, his composure regained as he now stalked through the castle halls, boots falling heavy on the floor with each step. He wanted answers, and if anyone had them right now (strange as it may seem) it was Demyx. (Unless of course he could track down that voice and he was sure as hell NOT doing that anytime soon).
"Oh Demyx..."
It might have seemed he was searching for Demyx, but oh Xigbar knew exactly where to find the lazy little bum, with his a** planted on that couch probably taking a nap like he did every other day.
And there he was.
Xigbar stood, arms crossed, eyes narrowed at the sleeping ball of fluff (how could he be so hyper one minute and then sleep like a damned rock the next?).
"Wake up!"
Or I'll snap your sitar in half...

Well sheesh Xigbar, if Demyx was going to stay up all night and have sitar playing sessions (which he did, often), he had to sleep during the day! Duhhhhh!
For the second time Demyx snorted awake, though this time the 'protection' his sitar offered poofed away in a flurry of bubbles. What the HELL man, who was interrupting his nap time no---
Oh.
Green eyes blinked, staring at the other for a moment before their owner gave out a terrified YELP and dove -over- the couch to hide behind it. It was a moment later before he slowly peeked back over, blonde hair appearing first shortly followed by those green eyes, and decided to try speaking. "U-uh...X-xiggy?" A paw appeared, giving a point in the sniper's general direction before disappearing behind the couch again. "You uh......h-have you looked in the mirror today?"

Glare!
"I assume you mean these."
The sniper indicated his newly 'acquired' wings with a twitch (damn it, what the hell was he supposed to do with these things anyways?!) Of course he knew they were there! They had just torn through his back, HOW THE HELL WOULD HE HAVE MISSED THAT?!
Xigbar loomed over Demxy, half standing on the couch, his arms crossed as he glared down at the nobody.
"And just what do you know about this? She said she knew you!"
If the new wings and horns hadn't scared Demyx, that tone certainly would have.

"Yep, mean those man. They're kinda neat, they look like Saix's..." Well, in type they did. Saix had had the weird bat-ish wings too. Demyx had to briefly wonder why he got the silly bird wings...and that damn floating halo above his head.
"You're uh...you're kinda bleeding man, want me to clean that up? Hehehe..?" RIGHT. Distract him by being helpful! He was halfway through summoning a ball of water when the looming began. With a squeak he dismissed the water and turned his gaze up at the sniper. Technically, he shouldn't have been able to fear, but it was definitely shining in his eyes at that moment.
"Uhhhhh....about -that- ....I really have no idea what you're talking about!" And with that he hopped to his feet, making a mad dash to the door while shouting "RUN. RUN AWAY!"

Xigbar snarled, a very uninviting sound that screamed don't touch me! No he didn't want help, he wanted answers! Poor unfortunate Demyx, had he not said anything Xigbar might not have noticed until later that he was bleeding, instead it only made him angrier.
And then he just made it worse.
Xigbar was after him in a flash, a paw reaching out to snatch the little sitar player by the collar and yanking him off his feet. (heh, guess those wings did have an advantage, he was faster at least).
"You're not getting away from me. Someone ******** up my headphones, someone that you know! Start talking! Who was she?"
Xigbar might have shaken him for answers were it not for that small voice in his head that told him Demyx might have gone through the same thing he just did at one time. Oh but it was a very small voice, and if Demyx didn't start talking he just might get it after all.

"RUN AWAAAAA---URK!" The cry was cut off as he suddenly found himself yanked off his paws. Oh s**t oh s**t oh shitshitshit. Xigbar was pissed (rightfully so), and....well damn, maybe he should have just stayed in his room today. It would have been safer. Maybe.
"She? Someone I know? I d-d-dunno what you're t-t-t-talking about!" The sitarist flailed. Right! Play dumb, juuuust keep playing dumb. Don't think about that day on the beach. Don't think about your own horrible transformation. You've always been this way! ALWAYS! Xigbar was just unfortunate, or sick, or...something!
The young Audio whimpered, attempting to reach back and pry at the hands holding onto his collar. "C-c-cmon man, just let me go and I'll g-get you some cookies.."

Grrrr....
ShakeshakeSHAKE!
"Don't lie to me! I know you know something!"
It might have been fortunate for Demyx he hadn't stayed in his room that day. If he had, Xigbar would have surely broken down the door and been even MORE pissed off than he already was.
"I don't want cookies! TELL ME WHAT YOU KNOW!"
Oh dear, furious did not begin to describe it. Later he might feel bad for being so angry with Demyx. But that was later, now he was raging, and in the absence of the one who had done this to him it was poor unfortunate Demyx who felt the brunt of his fury.

Well damn, he really liked his bedroom door (the inside was decorated with random crap, horray!). Maybe it was a good thing he had decided to expend the energy to walk to the Grey Area.
OHCRAPWHATTHEHELL?! Xigbar was shaking him. Shaking him. It didn't feel very nice and it was starting to impair his ability to breathe correctly. For a moment the youth's tongue hung uselessly out of the side of his mouth and he made little choking noises. Need to breath, need to breathe, NEEDTOBREATH.
Oh hey, the shaking stopped for a moment. Though now Demyx was shaking for an entirely new reason. Hellooooo absolute fear! "I don't. Know. Anything!" And then, as though fearing another shake, Demyx spilled out everything he 'knew' in one breath. "Imeancmonman, the voice just got to you too right? And never showed itself, never clarified, just messed with your headphones and disappeared?" Breathe. "Cause that's what happened to me man CAN YOU PUT ME DOWN NOW?" Breathe. Breathe. "...Cmooon. I'm telling the truth!"

Oh great, he was choking. Well he couldn't have that, Xigbar didn't want to -kill- him, and well, if he wanted answers he at least needed him conscious. His grip relaxed, slightly, but he wasn't letting go...or letting the nobody's feet find the floor just yet.
His ears twitched, listening with interest. Though it was a struggle a few times to distinguish words from one another (damn Demyx talked fast when he was scared), Xigbar got the gist of what was said.
So the same thing had happened to Demyx. Well damn it, now he felt bad...well, a little.
A moment of silence, a glare, was Xigbar debating whether to believe him not? Finally, Demyx would find his paws on the floor again, Xigbar's grip now only enough to grasp the collar of the other's robe.
"Did you see her? Did anything else happen?"

Ears flat, Demyx had whimpered and whispered little pleas while he awaited judgement. Cmon, just put him down, put him down---
YES! He could feel the floor beneath his boots! Now time to RUN AWAY---
Awhhh crap. As soon as he made a move to get away he felt the tug at his collar again. Apparently he wasn't in the clear just yet.
"Her? Man I didn't even know it was a her I swear!" He was shaking still, though not quite as bad as before. Think Demyx, think! What had he seen? "It was at the beach...I was there with a friend and...this other Audio we ran into." Come to think of it, he hadn't seen Kaleb in a while. Bandages he still wasn't quite sure how he felt about. Especially while recounting what happened that day. "Was trying to teach her how to swim, failed, rescued her, felt bad, wandered off.." The words were spilling out again, oh dear. "Some weird voice, took off my headphones because they made some strange noise..when I put them back on THIS happened." He flailed, pointing out his own wings. "I...I only saw a tail man, I swear. Nothing else! And I didn't move -for days- it hurt so bad... My one friend fixed up the wounds, he's a healer! The other just tried to talk me through it..she had the wings too, but she was younger! And then Luxord came and brought me back.." Breathe. Just. Breathe. "I don't remember anything else, I swear! I was in bed a long time, it hurt man, really bad...I'm sure you know that."

The sniper listened as best he could, picking out the important details amidst Demyx's rambling. Arrg, why couldn't he just get to the point, he didn't want to hear a whole story!
His paw moved so swiftly that Demyx might have thought it was aimed at him, but it was the wall that felt the heavy landing of that paw. His grip on Demyx's collar had faded, barely holding the edge of the fabric as he leaned against the wall. Damn it, why did he feel so weak?
Demyx was right about one thing, there were no words to describe the pain he had felt, and maybe...maybe...
Damn, he really was bleeding wasn't he. Sitting down...that sounded like a good idea, before he fell over.

Demyx had visibly cringed, going quite silent at the sudden movement of the paw. When he found it hitting the wall rather than him, he breathed a sigh of relief.
Waaaait...
Pulling free (FINALLY), Demyx turned to eye the other. He...he was bleeding, and on the warpath -now-. Which...had this just happened?! The sitarist had a moment of absolute amazement at Xigbar's ability to move around after the transformation before snapping back into coherent thought.
"Cmon man...just sit down, I'll clean off the blood, you need to rest! ...Okay?" He looked nervous, one eye nearly squinted shut and lip curled into an apprehensive smile. Hopefully Xigbar wouldn't backhand him for the suggestion of help.

A snort was his only response as what little grasp he had on Demyx' collar was lost. It didn't matter, he'd gotten what he wanted, and now he had more pressing things to deal with...like staying on his feet. Yeah, that was a good start.
Both hands on the wall, deep breath, a glare shot at younger nobody.
"Don't touch me..."
It was the last thing he wanted. Maybe he feared that unbearable pain would seize him again at the slightest touch, or maybe he was just too proud to accept any help.
But he was going to take Demyx up on part of that offer. He was going to sit down. He was going to find that couch before he fell. As for bleeding, well he'd deal with that after...if he didn't pass out first.

Demyx threw his paws up protectively, shaking his head at the other. "Fine man, whatever. If -you- want to pass out from pain and blood loss that's your problem. Shoot a guy for just trying to help, sheesh." In retrospect that might not have been the best term, considering Xigbar's weapons. But it wasn't like he could use them anytime soon anyway.
Demyx had started to stalk off, probably on some epic quest to steal the other member's pillows or something. But a voice was nagging at him in the back of his mind. Could he really just -leave-? Hell yeah he could! Xigbar told him not to touch him!
Ugh.
.....God damnit.
With an over exaggerated sigh (drama king much?) the sitarist spun on his heels and stormed back over. "You. Sit down. Now." He was going to regret this later. He was totally going to regret this later. Going against one's superiors was a -bad idea-, but he knew how Xigbar felt and he definitely knew the other needed to sit down. Besides, if Xigbar passed out...well Demyx would have one hell of a time trying to move him.
Demyx grabbed one of the paws, getting a firm grip on it before attempting to tug the other towards the couch. "Come on man, you can even sit in -my- spot...just try not to get blood on it. Okay?" Blood was icky.
