Greloren frowned. There was another kid at home now. Stupid Quill. Another kid meant he had to spend money on more things. Like clothes and a bed. And food. This was a rotten deal. The half-elf had decided to get out of the house on the excuse of needing to find a bed for the little dragon girl that Quill had picked out. Ryan had opted to go along. The half-elf glanced over at the little boy.
Ryan was not overly excited about a new kid in the house. He had been clinging to Greloren quite a bit lately. And now he had to share his room with this new kid since they didn't have any other rooms available. Not cool. He sighed, bouncing in his seat as the bus hit a bump. He didn't really like the bus either, but it was better than walking.

"Isn't this exciting, Evari?" Xai stared out the window of the bus as it drove along the road, sitting excitedly on the edge of her seat. She had taken public transportation before, sure, but that was on Ursontaea! It was so much different than Gaian transit! These buses! They had wheels! And there were so many characters on them! That man looked quite dirty...did his shower not work? How odd. Oh well! Evari, however, was not quite as excited as her guardian. Ugh! This was so boring! Where were her toys? She needed paint! Or glowy sticks! Or something to play with! Anything. Anything was better than just sitting here while they waited for the bus to get to the mall so they could get clothes.
"M'bored!" She complained, but Xai ignored her in favor of watching things pass the window. Evari pouted and slumped in her seat, crossing her arms across her chest and looking around. Hobo, weird guy with pointy ears, weird kid with black skin covered in bumps, fat lady with groceries--wait what? Evari's gaze whipped back to the boy bouncing in his seat. Whoa! Another kid! And he looked like fun? Maybe? Hopefully? He wasn't nearly as colorful as her, or even Kay for that matter, but maybe he would be entertainment enough for this horribly boring ride. She cast a side-long glance at her guardian before sliding off her seat until she was on the floor, crawling up the aisle as stealthily as she could until she was could climb onto the set of seats directly behind the boy and his father.
Evari grinned mischievously as she gripped the back of Ryan's seat, waiting for a moment before she suddenly leaned in close. "BOO~!"

"AHHHH!" Ryan jumped clear out of his seat, the shout startling a few of the passengers. Others... well, either they were too drunk or too self-absorbed to notice. The bumpy boy climbed up into Greloren's lap, slowly peering over the half-elf's shoulder at the thing that had scared him.
Greloren was startled more by Ryan's scream than anything else and he awkwardly patted the boy's back when the child climbed into his lap. The half-elf glanced over his own shoulder, looking to see what Ryan was looking at. It was another child (sheesh, these things were everywhere!) and this little girl was rather... colorful. She looked like she'd be a handful, too. The man glanced around, wondering where the guardian to this kid was. Some people just didn't know how to parent!

"AHHHH!" Evari shouted with Ryan, only more because she felt if she did that it would make it into some kind of game instead of the boy screaming for dear life. Geeze! You'd think he was scared or something! What a crybaby! The shouting was enough to bring Xai's attention from the street to where it was coming from, finding that her daughter was no longer in the seat beside her but was in fact by a frightened child clinging to his father. Uh oh, what had she done now? Evari was merely grinning with pride, excited to see she'd found such a responsive new friend.
"Hi!" She stood up on the chair she was sitting on and climbed over the back of the one Ryan had previously been occupying, missing it a little and rolling off it onto the floor with an 'oomph!' ...Well that was fun! Xai had moved to get up and comfort the crying girl she was expecting to crawl out from that set of seats, but instead Evari popped up and climbed back onto the seat to invite herself to sit beside the man and the bumpy kid. Oh...she was okay? Well, as long as she didn't hurt herself or anyone else Xai supposed all she would need to do was move to a closer seat just in case, which she did. "'M Evari! We're gonna play!"
"Evari..." Xai warned her, giving the girl the 'Correct that' eye. Evari's cheeks puffed and she pouted at her mother before turning back to Ryan and politely correct herself.
"We're gonna play...please." Not that that was any better...but whatever. Xai sighed and shook her head.

Ryan watched as the girl climbed over the back of the seat he'd been in only to miss and fall into the floor. He lay down in his guardian's lap to look under the seat before them when the girl popped back out. He gave a bit of a start, leaning back against Greloren as the girl climbed up into what had been his seat and cheerfully proclaimed that they were going to play.
The boy wasn't sure how he was supposed to react to all that. The poor kid hadn't met any others his own age until the previous day when Quill had somehow become guardian to a little girl. And he really hadn't said much to her.
Greloren glanced at the apparent guardian to this girl and then back to his own charge. He sighed. Obviously his own kid needed more interaction... "Tell her your name," he muttered to the boy.
Ryan looked up at his father and then over at this girl. Oh, she'd said her name, so he should say his. Got it. "Ryan," he managed, not much more than a whisper, before burying his face in his guardian's chest.

Ryan, huh? Ryan was a pansy! What?! No way! How could someone so cool looking be a pansy?! This wouldn't do. She was going to teach him to man up! Evari stood in the seat and put her fists on her hips, looking about as authoritative as a little girl in a neon green tutu, purple tube top, fluffy pink legwarmers and glowing red could look. She pulled it off surprisingly well. "We're goin' on'n a'venture!" Now she just had to get his face out of the weird man's chest. How does one go about doing that?
Oh! She knew just the way! She grabbed his arm with both hands and puuuuulled, stepping back to hopefully tug the boy with her off the safety of his father's lap. "Gedduuuuuuuuuup! Geddupgeddupgedduuuuup!"

Ryan only heard a bit of the first statement, though he flailed when suddenly something was pulling on his arm! Evari succeeded in her goal when Ryan was pulled off balance and fell out of Greloren's lap and tumbled into the seat he'd previously been sitting in, which was now occupied by a rather colorful (and demanding) girl!
"A-a ven-wha?"

"A'venture!" Evari repeated proudly, letting him go once he was off his father's lap and turning to jump down from the chair. She landed with a little grunt and motioned for Ryan to do the same. It was adventure time! This was a heck of a lot more fun than just sitting around doing nothing!
Hmmm what would their first adventure be? What could you do on this stupid bus? Evari looked around quite seriously, suddenly pointing toward the back of the bus. "Gonna start there~!" Surely there'd be something cool back there. They were explorers on a jungle trek!

Ryan peered down at this crazy girl from the seat he'd been in. He sat down, too unsteady standing in the moving bus. Frowning, the boy wondered what was so special about this "a'venture". He peered back to where she was pointing. The back of the bus... there was a smelly old man back there with four layers of clothes on. Why did she want to go back there?!

He still wasn't getting down? If he didn't get down on his own soon Evari was going to tug him into the aisle like she'd brought him down from his father's lap! She pouted at the questionable look on his face. "Lessgooooo!" She demanded, setting off with or without her new buddy.
Evari didn't know why she wanted to go back there but it was a whole lot better than being with the boring parents! She hummed happily as she walked, pausing to look back and make sure Ryan was following her. Come on, Bumpy! There were adventures to be had! Continents to explore! Monsters to defeat! Ooh what was that? A can? ...It was begging to be kicked! But it was trapped underneath the seat of that smelly old man. Ew.

Ryan frowned, looking up at his guardian, who merely shrugged. "You'd probably be better off following her," Greloren commented, having seen how pushy and demanding this girl was.
The bumpy boy sighed, turning around to slide out of the chair, his feet reaching for the floor before letting go. He wished he'd brought his blankie with him, but he hadn't. He did have the walkie-talkie that Switch had given him. It was permanently attached to his hip, it seemed. Did this girl count as scary enough to call the nice lady for help?
Probably not, he decided with a frown. So it was off to follow her before she decided to pull on his arm again. Though... arm pulling was definitely a mean thing!

Evari was happy to see that Ryan decided to follow her on his own instead of making her pull him down with her. Smart boy! She was nice enough to wait for him to catch up to her before she walked along and then stopped by the old man who smelled funny, the man was asleep so he didn't notice the two children. "Shhhh!" She told the already quiet boy, holding her finger up to her lips as she pointed at the can. They were gonna get that! They had to sneak up on it though! It would catch them otherwise.
"You wanna geddit?" If he didn't she totally would.

Ryan blinked, his nose wrinkling in distaste of the rather odorous man. Why was she pointing to that can? Why would she want it? It wasn't anything special. There were cans like that at home in the various piles. It was amazing what he found in those piles sometimes.
He shook his head in response to her question. He didn't want to get closer to the smelly man!

"Okie dokie!" She shrugged and got down on her hands and knees. If Ryan wasn't going to get the can so they could kick it around then Evari would! She didn't realize this kid was lacking the same level of imagination she currently had, because in Evari's mind she was crawling in a bush in the middle of a jungle, and what she was sneaking up on was a rare and elusive animal she wanted to capture and study. The snoring man above her was merely the thunder of the rainforest as rain poured down above them.
It made perfect sense to her.
Suddenly there was a problem! Someone somewhere on the bus had signaled for the driver to stop. Oh no! An earthquake! The bus suddenly halted and the can was sent bouncing toward the front of the bus leaving Evari, who was knocked off balance, to roll into the sleeping old hobo's legs. The hobo was startled awake by something hitting his legs, and Evari gasped, scrambling out from under the chair and grabbing Ryan's arm as she fleed to hide somewhere from the monster. "Hidequickahhhhhh!"

Ryan watched as the girl started to crawl after the can when the bus suddenly came to a stop. The boy stumbled, grabbing one of the poles to keep upright when Evari grabbed his arm and ran to hide. The boy fell as the girl pulled on his arm and he quickly scrambled under the nearest seat, which of course was occupied.
