Today had started out as a crazy day for Todd. With both of his father's needing to either leave for work early or start errands early, Todd was up and out of bed much earlier than he was accustomed too. He had tagged along with Elliot and helped him with his errands, seeing that he was able to get a chocolate store visit out of it all.
But now he was sitting in his car seat, staring out the window as Elliot drove them home. He had his mind set on getting home and taking his new pet out to play in the yard, but was caught off guard when he felt the car come to a stop. He blinked a few times, sitting up straighter in his car seat in order to see out his window better. Instead of the parking garage of their apartment complex, it was the park a few miles away. Despite being tired from running around with Elliot for a good part of the morning, he couldn't help but get excited about playing at the park.
"Yey the park! Daddy, unbuckle me please!" Todd exclaimed from the backseat, nearly bouncing in place from excitement.
Elliot chuckled softly as he got out of the car and made his way to Todd's door. "Alright alright, I'll get you out in a sec," he said as he tried to unbuckle Todd from his car seat. When the last buckle was done he picked the boy up and set him down with a soft nudge towards the playground.
Todd grinned wickedly as he took off as fast as he could toward the swings.
(oh gawd so long, im sorry lol)

Joshua's favorite park was not too far away from his house in Barton, so he decided to walk. He'd finally been able to take a break from the constant babysitting he'd had to put up with, and was free to do what he wished. He was dressed for fall, in a red-and-white ski sweater, and long jeans. He was wearing red converse, but they were practically hidden under his jeans, so why he bothered to be color coordinated was anyone's guess.
He loved this season, but Winter was his favorite. It wasn't because Fall was the most colorful time of the year; it was the weather that he liked. He'd suffered through summer, and had been looking forward to the cooler months ever since it'd hit ninety degrees.
He made his way towards the swings, crossing the not-so-green field. A smile crossed his face when he saw another boy. He waved. He'd expected the park to be deserted, what a pleasant surprise this was.

Todd caught sight of the other boy at the park, grinning brighter as he waved back. He was a friendly boy, but he was on a mission to get one of those swings. A few good strides and a leap into the sanded floor of the swing area, Todd made it to his destination.
He grinned even brighter as he hefted himself into one of the swings, kicking off as he waved the other boy over. There was a perfectly good swing next to him, and he was up for some playful competition.
"Come swing with me!"

Joshua had intended to swing anyway, so he sat on the swing next to Todd with ease. It was one of the advantages of being tall, he decided. He looked to Todd with mild curiousity. He'd never seen him before. "My name's Joshua," he introduced himself with a smile, before backing up onto the swing and lifting his legs off the ground to give him a good start. "What's your name?"
His hair was bothersome, it really was getting too long, even in a ponytail. It kept sticking to his face with the static of the cold air. "Oh, you can call me Josh," he added, leaning back in the swing and using his legs to pump. It was difficult to talk to someone while swinging, even if he'd just gotten started. "Want to see who can swing the highest, maybe?" He asked, wondering if there would be some competition. He hoped so.

Todd watched silently, if not with a twinge of jealousy, as the older boy merely sat on the swing next to him. He was still waiting for his growth spurt to hit him, and Elliot kept promising it would be soon. His fox ears twitched in agitation at his own thoughts before he grinned brightly at the other boy as he introduced himself.
"I'm Todd! Nice to meet you." He gave a few good kicks as he listened to Josh continue on about trying to see who was the best swinger. Well that's how Todd translated it, and his playful smile soon turned into a wicked grin at the mention of a competition. Josh had certainly found some competition.
Todd turned his attention forward, keeping track of where his father was currently residing. Turned out Elliot was safely paying more attention to a book than himself, but that was exactly what Todd was hoping for. Elliot wouldn't approve of the game at all.
"You betcha!" He exclaimed, giving a few good kicks out as he grinned back at Josh.
