Mother was pretty attentive to her offspring but she still was a single mother and had to hunt leaving the cubs to their own devices. Even though they had their aunt and uncle around it was still hard to keep focused. Lucky this morning mother was going with their aunt on a hunt and Steken was incharge... who was dead asleep... Nayavu had grown accustomed to his mothers and aunts 'hunts' and looked forward to her leaving. The boy loved his mother but preferred time on his own where he was his own boss.
He watched with one eye opened as they left again in the early morning. Nayavu pretended to be asleep amongst the other cubs in their little family. His mothers shape disappeared over the horizon and now it was time to get up and start his day.
Finally for the love of god she was gone and Nayavu could do what he wanted to do. Which was to .. what in the hell did he want to do?
A mouse scurried by his feet giving him a little reminder of exactly what he wanted to do. The cub licked his lips and followed after the mouse. Snacks, always a good motive.

Lahoma'Ownah was barely awake herself. She was considering crawling back under her uncle and trying to sleep again when she noticed her brother sneaking off into the tall grass.
That jolted her awake. Moments later she was on her feet, padding after him with tiny steppes.
"Naya?" she purred when she caught up with him. "Naya, what are you doing?"

Nayavu looked over at his sister who was now padding along with him. He wasn't upset, Lahoma'Ownah wasn't one to really get in his way. And even if she did try to talk him into going back with her he wouldn't. The cubs mind was made up.
"Hunting snacks," His cool suave voice made it sound like it was something he did daily. The truth was this was his first time ever hunting anything. Naya's mind was made up now though and he wasn't going to settle down til he did come home with a snack.

Lahoma's tail flicked, "Can I come too?"
To her hunting was still something the adults did. Cubs who wanted to hunt was something that was beyond her. Cubs didn't hunt. Play hunting maybe, but serious hunting? No.
"I wouldn't mind a little snack!" truth be told she would have loved one. Waiting for the hunters to get home was working up an appetite.

Nayavu nodded, "Alright you can come. But just don't get in my way," He gave her a curt nod.
Something up ahead moved causing Nayavu to rush after said movement. The cub flew through the air, claws extended and jaws opened, only to find he had landed on nothing but a pile of leafs.
The wind blew again sending other leafs flying through the air around the two cubs. Nayavu cursed.

[ Rest is a log ]
(11:52:28 PM) 1/3: Lahoma laughed and pounced on one of the stray leaves as it passed, tearing at it with tiny teeth and claws.
She was still giggling when it lay 'dead' before her. "Good kill, brother! It takes both cunning and speed to track down a mighty pile of leafs!"
(1/10/2010 12:09:10 AM) Chobi: Nayavu had been up set before but after his sisters praise he found that he was proud.
"Yeah, good work sis." He gave her a smile, she was a good sister after all, "Come on, lets find something thats not green though," He laughed and started off again, batting leafs away that lay in his path.
