RULES: 1)This is a semi-literate to literate roleplay area. If you do not know how to form basic sentences and use proper punctuation, then please find somewhere else to rp. 2)This is a romance rp... as such many put restrictions on what is allowed and what isn't. I merely ask that you take any explicit sex out of gaia and/or fade to black. Sensuality, kissing, fondling, so long as it's done in a tasteful manner will be allowed. 3)Keep cussing to a minimum please. With the title of semi-literate roleplayer comes the responsibility to act as such, and semi-lit roleplayers don't need to cuss. 4)I AM GOD! I will set forth other moderators as I see fit if necessary. Hopefully we can all understand and follow simple rules and so others won't be necessary. 5)Please feel free to invite others. This rp is open to anyone and everyone who can adhere to the guidelines. 6)Three hearts are required at the beginning and end of your submission, failure to do so will result in you NOT getting a response back of any kind to your profile submission. 7)Title all PM's 'Bonfire Nights'. cool Each person is allowed to create up to, but no more than 3 characters. 9)Violence between two characters over a third is condoned and even encouraged. 10)Enjoy yourselves!!!

Kassie has been through heartache and a couple broken hearts in her time, she's been through the hurt, she knows the pain and it's not new to her any longer. She knows that her man is out there and she knows she can find him, as the saying goes, her white knight is on his way, she just tends to add in that he's lost and is too stubborn to ask for directions. Currently her life is going quite well, good grades in her classes, decent jobs that don't work her till her stress levels are through the roof, she's just missing that little bit of warmth she could be having. In her past she's learned that when something is worth fightin for, she goes for it and doesn't stop until she knows there's no change in the world she can obtain it and she's not one to wait around waiting on a guy, if he won't come to and get himself in gear, then she's gone. Her family has walked out on her and left her to fend for herself and she's been doing so for the past couple of years. She doesn't let much out about her life. She prefers to keep the past where it belongs, in the past and not bring it up again and again. When a wound closes, it doesn't need to be re-opened.

Ace knew she didn't have to go to college since there was more then enough money to provide for the rest of her future, but she wanted to feel accomplished on her own. Appearance:

AND WE'RE OFFICIALLY OPEN! A match is thrown into the gasoline coated wood, some of it wet and some dry, as the sun slowly begins sinking into the water. And so begins another bonfire night, a light calling out to partiers everywhere like mosquitoes and flies to a zap lamp.

(Uhm. . . I'm. . guessing I can post. xp sorry if I can't. ))
Lynette sighed, and stepped onto the sand, her boots making a soft crunching noise. She knew she was dressed a little warmly for a bonfire on the beach, but she got cold easily, and having lived here her entire life, the nights seemed cool to her.
She walked to a bench that sat on the edge of the sand, probably dragged in from a park by a couple of teenagers who wanted to be close to the water, but not sit on the sand. It'd been there for as long as Lynette could recall.
Sitting down lightly, Lynette pulled out her large sketchbook, opening it to a blank page, and glanced up. The colored lights from the fire flickered over her page, certainly not enough light to draw by, but still she held the notebook open, and watched the sea.
Lynette wasn't the sort to like being near others, which is why she was sitting on a bench a good distance from the fire- and the people who crowded around it. Hopefully, no one would see the small figure sitting there. She got nervous and quiet, quieter, when there were many people around.
((Hmm. I wasn't expecting to write this much. ))

Kassie stepped onto the sand, the warmth of the sun shinning upon the grains all day was still present. It was soft and warm against her soft feet as she walked. She'd left her shoes and socks in her car so she wouldn't have to worry about them later. She gently tucked a strand of her long hair in behind her ear. It was a unique blue and brought her eyes out that much more, in the light from the bonfire, it turned a darker shade of blue, nearing violet. She looked around to see if she would spot anyone she knew there.

Mark was sitting at the beachside condo he'd been able to pick up for the summer with royalties he'd made from his first published book. He looked over the sea as Linkin Park played in another room of the condo. He needed background music to be truly in the background. He was trying to decide what to do with his character now, but was stuck on how to get him out of the predicament he'd gotten himself into. He sat there for an hour before finally getting up, which is when he noticed the flickering light at the porch doors. He opened the doors and stepped out onto his patio to look over the beach at the bonfire raging down there. It looked fairly dead, but he figured if nothing else, he could go down and wait for everyone else to show up. Bonfires always attracted people like mosquitoes and with people came stories. With stories came ideas on how to manipulate the character believably. He went back inside and grabbed a pair of sandals before stepping back outside and making his way down the walkway and out onto the sand towards the fire. The night was cool, with a very light breeze; just enough to throw the scent of salty sea air through the nostrils of beach-goers. Mark inhaled deeply. He'd always loved the briny scent, which was why he'd made sure to get a place by the ocean. Mark saw a woman sitting at the edge of the firelight looking towards the few people who were gathered there. A couple were at a beach grill, attempting to get it going while a few more were out setting up a volleyball net. Mark stopped at the edge of the firelight, not yet entering, but letting the darkness shroud the light as it was flung further from it's source so that it barely cast red flickers over his lithe form, more shadows than lights. Passing from darkness into light was always an interesting thing to him. There was always an invisible war going on in a place that nobody could possibly imagine. Heaven and hell, good and bad, right and wrong, even alive and dead, could all be contained within that struggle that was going on around Mark right now... light versus dark. Neither could survive without the other, and yet both worked to destroy each other. He waited in the flickering shadows and watched the colliding of many worlds and universes that would otherwise never have even recognized the others' existence.

Kassie's deep blue eyes flicked from person to person that was in the light of the fire and she wasn't seeming to really recognize any of them. So she decided to move to the outskirts of the light, knowing it'd be safer until she could figure out if someone was there she knew. She twirled the twin bands that rested on her finger and stood calmly. It was a little nervous habit she'd started and half the time she didn't realize she was doing it.

Lynette glanced at the others who hovered beyond the lights reach. She didn't know them, but saw off the bat they were unique. Each person had an inner image, the self they sometimes didn't see, and she liked bringing that out on paper. But she couldn't, not with these people. They wouldn't be simple to convey- which would mean talking to them. Lynette glanced back at the fire, staring at it a moment. On the paper, she lifted her pencil and drew blindly. A talent many artists had, and those few that didn't envied.
The image on the paper was first of a fire, then of lighting, a storm raging above a dry plain. Then, on the other side of the paper, a town emerged. It looked like an old town, seemed to come from the time of piooners into the wild wild west. In front of the town, facing the fire that raced towards the village,s he put faceless shadows in the background, then drew-
Lynette stopped. Glancing at the paper, she saw the space. It would hold the key person, the person who would have to face the fire with determination. She didn't know who should go there. A child, an adult, and elderly. Male, female, genderless. She bit her lip, and flipped to a new page. That would be finished another day.
Lynette sang to herself softly as she drew the next scene. It was a very odd thing- considering when it was. She was singing 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town' and drawing the sight of christmas eve, a child croutched over the card they were painstakingly making for Santa, a crayon clutched in their hand. She made the child female, but had the angle over the child's shoulder, so all you saw was a head of hair and a body stretched across the floor.

Ace was annoyed that the fall of night came so quickly. She made her way over by the fire where her stuff was sitting on a small blanket with a flimsy backpack beside it. Carefully sitting down, making sure not to get anymore sand then was accidentally put on it, she pulled her water bottle out the side pocket of the backpack and took a few gulps.
Looking toward the sunset that was merely reflecting on the ocean and still fighting for a spot from the moon she smiled. It had been a while since everyone was together again and it was somewhat awkward. She wanted to chat; she was tired of the break she had took to go play and jump over the foamy waves. No doubt coming was ever a regret.
Ace set her bottle down then knocked all the sand she could get from her shins down. When it looked acceptable she pulled her legs under to sit applesauce style and stretched her hands toward the glazing fire. Once in a while the smoke would come her way. Being congested with the puff of smoke was never quite amusing to her. Pulling her now warm fingers away from the fire she reached in her bag once more but this time for a pair of penguin socks.

Mark watched the gathering of people as light faded quickly with careful, considering eyes. He finally settled on the girl sitting at the light's edge who was writing something, though he knew not what. He made a wide circle, falling out of the light's reach as he spirited by and around those present and still arriving. As he approached her, the faded light afforded him just enough light to see that she was drawing not writing as he had first imagined. He was well behind her and slowly approached, his footfalls silent, even in the sand. He stepped into her field of vision to the side and knelt down, looking at the fire as he spoke.
"You are an exceptional artist. What be it that catch your interest here?" He asked, his voice very soft and gentle, not wanting to startle her. His blue eyes remained fixed on the fire and the sensual dance of it's tongues licking at the darkness and the night with the passion of young lovers after a small quarrel.
