It had been a whole month since Hunter had disappeared into the mountains and there had been no contact for any of the people he had left behind. It was if he had simply dropped off the edge of the planet. Hunter’s anger had been growing; making him turn on even those he truly cared about. When that had happened he had banished himself into the forest where he could figure out what the hell was the matter with him.

But in his rage and frustration he had tapped into something he had never known was there. Power that had always been beyond his reach; remnants of the being that had created him. Hunter found a way to use it; tearing a whole three space, into another world. Dyre’s world. He had stepped back from the edge; not ready yet to find the son of a b***h without somebody by his side. Noelani deserved this chance as well.

So he was waiting outside the apartment he shared with her, in a rather dubiously obtained car, trying to make sure he wasn’t noticed by either Seth or Haevan. He knew Noelani’s habits. It wouldn’t be long before she came out to head off to her classes or whatever. Then he could grab her.

But he would have to catch her first. To which she had been having an irksome feeling that someone was watching her... or the apartment. She'd been peeking out the window here and there, noting a strange car. Someone was in it just waiting but for who. Plenty of people were moving about the area at this time but the car had remained. Hmm? Curiously she had to know who it was and so sneaked out the back being careful none of the neighbors saw her.

Inching closer to the car she vaguely made out the figure inside and almost had the urge to fling an arrow at him. Though she knew he'd dodge it, arrows were no longer her specialty. Silent and melee weapons were her specialty now. Items which required a delicate foot to get close to the enemy. She crept up on the car and smiled as she slipped up to the side of the window leaning against the door. "What in Gaia's name are you doing?" She inquired almost glaring at the idiot raccoon but caught herself and smiled with a lazy smirk. "Do you normally cap out in suspicious cars? And where the hell have you been?"

Inside the car, Hunter sat impatiently in the driver’s seat, watching the apartment. His finger drummed on the wheel as he waited. It wasn’t long until he realised his prey had come to him. No matter how stealthy you were; a true hunter always knew when its hearts desire was close by. He scanned the apartment again, only slightly surprised when Noe appeared at the window. Ha. Well, she hadn’t lost it just yet.

Hunter gave a wide smirk, a look more closely resembling the person he’d been before he’d gone, well... a bit bonkers. “Get in the car sweetheart. We’ve got a date with destiny.” He leant over, opening the door for her and ushering her in, the smirk disappearing, his eyes now filled with urgency. “Come on. I can’t leave the doorway open forever. It’ll close soon and then who know show long it’ll take me to open it again.” The car door wasn’t what he was referring to at all, though Noe would have been forgiven for that mistake.

He started the car; giving her another impatient look. “Hurry the hell up. We need to go now.”

Arching a curious brow, she peered at the door, then him and up to the apartment. Even though he had been rushing her she took her time getting in, took her time closing the door. Once she was situated she flung a paw across his face with a quick movement. "That's for Seth!" She protested hotly. As if nothing happened she quickly buckled in mindful that Hunter had a case of road rage unlike any other. There was bound to be a trail of road kill along the way.

Once situation she got to the question at hand. "What the heck are you doing creeping around like that anyway? You could just as easily come in and get me idiot! You got a key for goodness sake!" It was the truth after all but it might have been awkward too. For him to just up and disappeared without so much as a 'piss off' as was usual for him. "Heavan has been worried about you! ... And so have I!" She gave him a stern look ignoring her next question for the time being. Where were they going anyway?

Hunter jerked backwards, smacking his head on the back of the seat and swore. “Darn it. You’re stupid boyfriend attacked me first. While yelling something about defending me for Haevan’s sake or some bullshit like that. I don’t smack him in the face when you guys get into a fight; no matter how much I want to.” As he ranted he put his foot down and they shot forward along the street. He ignored her questions for a moment, concentrating on not crashing into any objects that were fool enough to get in his way.

Once Hunter got them onto the highway he relaxed a little, knowing they were on their way. “I couldn’t come in because it would waste time. I needed to get you alone.” He gave her a grin. “Bullshit, you haven’t been missing me.” Then grin quickly fell when he remembered Haevan, not willing to get into the conversation. “I’ve been in the mountains. Where else would I be? Now shut up. I’m not saying another world until we get there.”

He fell into silence, concentrating on getting where they needed to come. He was fairly sure the portal could be moved; however he didn’t have a clue how to control it. It would take a good thirty minutes before they reached the right mountain area.

"a*****e..." She bleated out as an after thought to his ranting, it relieved the urge to smack him once more. She went silent after that knowing all to well that when Hunter didn't feel like doing something he wouldn't. For now her questions went unanswered as she glared out the window wondering what was so damn urgent that he had to go sneaking around and couldn't even go into his own home.

After a while she elasped into a complete state of annoyance. Rolling down the window then back up again. Flicking on the radio then turning it off and back on again. She even began driving for Hunter when the silence was too much to bear. Pointing at cars he wasn't paying attention too (or either didn't care to), screaming when he cut of a semi and damn near close to jumping out the car herself when he screamed out the window at some elderly driver.

It was all too much to bear to which she finally voiced herself. "********! Where are we going? What's so damn urgent Hunter!" Raising her voice beyond its usual she wasn't in the mood for surprises or his silly little games. She wanted answers... "Huuuuuuunterrrr!" Whining seemed the only way to get his attention nowadays too.

“Shut up; shut up!” Was his only reply to her whining. He’s been putting up with her fidgeting for the entire trip and his nerves were at breaking point. Sure, he had the luxury of knowing where they were going, but that didn’t make the wait to get there any easier. “Be patient damn it we’re nearly there. This is important. Just... be ******** patient!” He left the highway at high speed, cutting across two lanes to get there.

The forest loomed ahead and with Hunter’s ridiculous speed they were soon on a little used dirt track, rumbling along with little regard to safety. After ten minutes Hunter brought the car to an abrupt halt and simply sat there, ears twitched froward. Were they close enough now? He’d figured out that he simply needed to be within a certain range of where he’d opened up the portal to use it and now it was only a few metres away.

He finally began to move, grabbing his bow and quiver from the backseat. “Okay, we’re here. Get your a** out so we can go kick some a**.” Then he was off into the forest, expecting her to follow.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 17, 2009 8:50 pm

"Kick a**?" Was her inquiring reply. Fumbling her way out of the car and rushing to catch up she didn't quite understand what he was up to. Kicking a** required weapons (which she always had on her person) but who's butt were they supposed to be kicking? "Hold on... please... " Snagging him by the arm she turned him to look at her. "Hunter what's going on why disappear and then show back up in such a frantic state?" The half glare on her face bled into a worried frown instead. Somehow all of this was hitting a nerve she wasn't aware she had.

He was acting different then was usual for him. And what was this crap about a door earlier? It had suddenly dawned on her that he wasn't talking about the car door. That had long since closed.... so what was... "Hunter? Please..." Though she didn't want to be annoying by asking all these questions -- following Hunter blindly into the forest didn't seem like a great idea either -- especially if butts which required kicking were involved. She needed a reason for such an act unlike the violent raccoon that would take any chance he got to kick an a** or too... on principle alone even.

The worried tone of her voice finally brought Hunter to a halt. He hesitated. He didn’t want her to protest if he told her where they were going, but she deserved to know. He licked his lips and then reached out, taking her hand in his own and tugging her just a few more steps to the right. Close enough. “We’re going... to find Dyre.” As the last words came out, he took them into the portal. There was the distinct feeling of falling; as if their stomach had fallen to their knees as the world faded into black.

When everything came into focus around them; they clearly weren’t the same place anymore. They were at the edge of an enormous lake. Behind them huge, old trees covered them in their gentle shade. Hunter burst out into loud laughter. “I did it! I felt it, but for a second I didn’t think I could. But we’re here and I know he’s here too.” He expression became predatory; tail flicking in anticipation. He took an arrow out of the quiver and checked his bow. All ready for the hunt.

Noe didn't have time to react to the revelation. Her body was falling soon after the words had left Hunter's lips. Squeezing eyes closed she clung to the raccoon willing herself to be okay, this wasn't like any experience she'd had before. When they finally got to the other side she was still clinging to the only familiar part of her world before realizing it... With a sigh she moved away from him looking around. More in awe that they weren't in there world.

Somehow she was pissed. "He lied!" She bleated out suddenly whirling around to glare at Hunter. With a face so similar to that idiot she wanted to slap him but reminded herself that finally she could face him.. one more time. Finally! "That a*****e... he said I couldn't come here... he... ********! He lied!" That was all.

"Let's go." she growled moving in a random direction though she knew what she was looking for or rather sniffing out. His scent she could never miss it so that was what they would use.

Hunter chuckled at Noe’s reaction. “Maybe he didn’t realise I was going to take a bit of his power with him.” He began to stalk off after her, admiring the new scenery. He’d never seen anything quite like it. The forest seemed completely untouched and beautiful. He wasn’t entirely sure how they were going to find Dyre but that was the joy of hunting. This b*****d that had created him wouldn’t be able to escape now that he had Hunter and Noe looking for his trail.

A tingle ran up the males spines; a shift in the world around him causing him to grab hold of Noe and bring her to a quick halt. He glanced around warily, prepared to draw his arrow back at any signs of hostility from the forest around them. Though nothing came from the trees; nor was it anything that looked particularly dangerous.

The tree branches bent towards them, despite there being no wind. A female creature that Noelani would recognise as belonging to Dyre’s race rose up out of the earth.; shaking off dirt with small flick of her ear The ground slid back into place after it had lifted her up, as if nothing had ever occurred in that spot.

“I sensed your arrival.” With wise eyes the being stared at the two newcomers as she spoke, lifting her hands in a beseeching gesture, trying to understand their presence. “You do not belong here. You are not Faekats. That is against the law of nature. Explain to me why you are here.”
PostPosted: Tue Nov 17, 2009 9:53 pm

Noelani had been so stuck on finding Dyre that she had yet to realize she wasn't in a place that would receive the two of them too well. Dyre had told her many times that his world was different from hers, it held laws and rules that were to be followed. He had also mentioned how dangerous it was and that she would not be able to survive this place. Now that she was here she wanted desperately to prove him wrong but for what reason? Before she could think further Hunter reached out to halt her movements. She glanced at him inquiringly but would soon have that unspoken question answered.

She watched in a mild sense of awe as the creature rose from the earth. That awe went out the window upon the creature's spoken words, obviously they didn't belong here, and obviously they weren't like the others. "I've come for one such as yourself... his name is Dyre. Where can I find him?" She spoke strictly leaving all else out. This was a mission with room for no delay. The sooner she got to him the sooner she could leave.

Hunter let Noelani do the talking on this one; he kept his mouth firmly shut, though his hand never left his bow. This creature was unlike anything he’d seen and she oozed a mystical quality that he knew on instinct could become dangerous if she was pushed. Knowing well his ability to make enemies out of even seemingly kind and gentle creatures, it was better just keeping a low profile.

“... Dyre...” The Goddess frowned slightly and tilted her head to the side, closing her eyes as they leaves in the trees rustled without wind. After a time she nodded softly. “The forest knows him well.” She studied them both. “You have come a long way to find him... and for you to even know of his existence... for you to be able to come to this world...” She left words unspoken, but she was clearly unhappy that unwritten rules had been broken.

“At this time, he lives within the Temple of Zamphir’s. My sister is not open to any intrusions; if fear what would occur should you turn up on her doorstep. I will bring Dyre to you. Is that satisfactory?”
PostPosted: Wed Nov 18, 2009 4:12 pm

Noelani was thankful for Hunter's sensability to shut the ******** up... and for that she would have to pay him back later. At current her attention was firmly set on the goddess before her. She listened carefully nodding and showing no hostility in the face of her hostess. At her resolution Noe nodded. "That will be fine." So they couldn't hunt him down but if he came to them that was all the better.

Turning to look Hunter over she gave him a weary smile, one that was void of her usual charm. She just wasn't in the right frame of mind, a sinister rage growing just under the surface. "We shall wait her then." She spoke again turning back to the creature. "Is this satisfactory?" She repeated in reply to their waiting... though she truly hoped Hunter would just be patient this time around.

It was actually rather disappointing that they would have to wait here. Hunter had wanted to see more of this land, get a feel of it. This amazing forest would be a joy to trek through, but clearly the female ‘Faekat’ was not interested in having them wandering around her home. Hunter gave a grunt of consent to Noe’s words.

“Very well... I will retrieve him for you myself.” Onatah nodded at the two before her and then looked towards the forest. A rabbit scampered out from the trees and came to a halt at the Goddesses feet, standing on its back paws to stare at the strangers. “Lulu will keep an eye upon you for me once I am gone. Do not stray. The God of Demons domain begins not far from here; should you step into it, your life is forfeit.” With one final look she disappeared in a shower of leaves.

Once she was gone Hunter relaxed slightly, slipping the arrow back into its quiver. “God of Demons my a**.” He looked down at the rabbit that was happily nibbling on grass. “I’m getting a drink.” The Raccoon began walking towards the lake.
