So....between Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, I pretty much know where to find all the pokemon in the game. Having a problem finding one? Post the pokemon and the game. smile And if it's not in your game, maybe we can set up a trade!

Lucky! Nah I think I will try to do it kind of on my own for once. Besides I only have Diamond. I can't figure out how to get through this newer Battle City part. (I guess it has something to with the anime series and I haven't watch it in a long while)

Sigh

I'm like two days away from just replaying it all over.

battle area, to ge tpast the first city, aptly named battle area, you need to obtain the national pokedex from Prof Oak at Rowan's facility in Sandgem

to get it you must View, not capture but record pictures of every sinnoh dex pokemon (100) to see palkia, you go to celestic town and talk to the elder in a house and then investigate a book

I can't even begin to imagine starting over. gonk I've spent almost 500 hours in both Diamond and Pearl, and I'm up to 250 in Platinum. I would be devastated if something happened to them, and I always look at people weird when they tell me "Oh, I got through the Elite Four and I started over." *L*

You do need the National Pokedex to proceed to the Survival Area. If you already have that, and you're having trouble with the Battle Tower, let me know! There are tips you can use to help you get through there. But you should know that getting through the Battle Tower is not necessary to complete the game. Diamond and Pearl in particular just have the Battle Tower as something fun to do after you complete the main game. Platinum has the Battle Frontier, which is featured in the anime series, but it's totally different than those episodes.

My best advice is if you're having trouble with the Battle Tower, skip it for now. There are lots of cool Pokemon to catch in the Survival Area, including a Legendary one. 3nodding

YAAAY!! If you want Persian, you first have to get Meowth. In order to catch one, go to the Pokemon Mansion, just south of Hearthome City. Talk to the Mansion Owner (he's in the room farthest right) and he'll brag about how great his Trophy Garden in the back is. If you agree that it's awesome, he'll tell you about how the pokemon in the garden. Each day a new one will appear and once they've been added, you will always be able to catch them in the Trophy Garden. I don't remember the whole list off the top of my head, and it's slightly different in Platinum, but it definitely includes:

* Castform * Igglybuff * Jigglypuff * Happiny * Chansey * Porygon * Minun * Plusle

Possibly Includes: * Meowth * Ralts * Kirlia

I'm 100% certain that Meowth and Kirlia show up there in Platinum, but I'm not sure if they show up there in Diamond and Pearl or not. I'll check on that and get back to you. Anyway, you should try to go by the Mansion daily!

As far as Ninetails goes, you'll have to catch a Vulpix first, and there are only two ways to get a Vulpix: 1. Migrate one into the game through the Pal Park. 2. Have Pokemon: Leaf Green inserted into the GBA slot of your DS.

There are several pokemon that can only be caught by having a certain GBA Pokemon game inserted. Growlithe, Ekans, Arbok, Caterpie, and Metapod will only show up with the Fire Red GBA game inserted. This is true for all three games. I can't remember the other four lists off the top of my head, but I'll get back to you on that, too. smile

And alas, you can only get Mew if you have Pokemon Rancher, and I don't. gonk In order to trade for it, you have to have seen it, and the only way to see it is to find someone who has it and battle them. So far I have not had the pleasure. Anyway, I'm not even sure if Pokemon Rancher is still available or if it was on the GameCube or on the Wii? But here's hoping that the new WiiWare title, Pokemon Rumble, will have a legendary pokemon lurking there, too. whee

MAN! I have a Nintendo DSi so fat chance of me getting a Ninetails and that means I can't use Pal park at all. crying

Thanks for all the advice though.

That sucks! I sort of want a DSi, but I don't for that very reason. confused When I heard it wasn't going to have the Dual Slot, I couldn't believe it. It totally screws up Pokemon players who only have the DSi.

You can always try to trade though, with someone on the guild or with someone on the GTS. It just gets frustrating when you're looking for a particular pokemon, and all anyone wants to offer is a low-level version for like a "LEVEL 100 PALKIA" or something that you would be nuts to give up willingly, if you can even catch. gonk

But if you keep at it, sometimes you get lucky! I finally found a Korean guy who was willing to trade a Munchlax, but I had to give up my Luxray to get it. It wasn't exactly a fair trade, since I'd put much more work into Linux than the guy had with his Munchlax, and I can't even read its name because its in Korean. But the important thing is that I got one! xd

I'm having trouble finding a Hoot-Hoot, Bonsly, Heracross, and Kricketot.

Which is odd since I have a Kricketune so where's the de-evloved form or do I need to breed a couple of Kricketune to get Kricketot? Judging by the name it seems like I should but atm I'm breeding my Pickachus.

Fish/water pokemon I'm having issues with are: Goldeen, finneo, feebas, and remoraid. I used the search area feature but it never really works. I either get a bunch of woopers, quassire, wingulls, and pelippers instead. No mater if it's night or day. (Though I have to admit I don't play much during the night since I have homework and chores to attend to)

Oh and where can I find Gible?
PostPosted: Tue Nov 24, 2009 5:33 pm

In Diamond, you should be able to find Hoothoot relatively easy at night. Go to Eterna City and search the grassy patch to the east of the city.

Look for Kricketot in the morning and at night. You should be able to find one fairly easily along Route 204 or 207.

Heracross can only be caught by putting Honey on one of the gold-color trees. If you get a "lucky" tree, you can catch rare pokemon like Heracross and Muchlax. If it's a normal tree, you can still catch Heracross, but not as easily. Munchlax, however, won't appear. Unfortunately, there's no way to know for sure if it's lucky or not unless you spend some time testing it. And supposedly they're different in every game.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I *THINK* that Bonsly only appears in Pearl. Diamond gets Mime Jr. instead.

Gible can only be found in the bottom floor of Wayward Cave in Diamond. You can only reach that level by going to Route 206 and use cut to cross under the bridge. Go all the way to the end of the route, go up under the bridge, and then move forward blindly until you find the entrance. I honestly can't remember, but I think you might need Rock Smach to get inside. You definitely need it once you do.

Goldeen, Finneon, and Remoraid show up in various bodies of water when you use the Super Rod. You can't get them by surfing on the water.

Feebas is a special case entirely. I'll make a seperate post for that!
