Wynni had signed up for a Big Brothers and Big Sisters program for some place, she barely recalled it anymore, naturally she had made sure that it was alright with her mother before she signed up of course, since the child would potentially coming to stay with them. Still time marched on and then it flittered right out of Wynni's mind until one day the young pre-teen had gotten a letter in the mail that stated that she had been chosen to partake in the program and that she was to come down and received her little sibling.
Despite signing up for it you could still have knocked Wynni over with a metaphorical feather. She tugged at her earlobe as she wandered to the arranged meeting with a bit of nervousness in her behavior. First meeting her biological father now this. What if the child hated her? What if they decided she was a 'bad match' now that the people get a good look at her? Either way the rather tall mint haired girl insisted on going in on her own as a pale hand clutched at the 'acceptance' letter nervously.

The Mystic Mixers labs seemed a stark contrast to any laboratories or facilities that the preteen had ever been to. It was warm and there was a startling lack of grouchy techs wandering around. In fact, there didn't seem to be anyone around, though the room was brightly lit and pop music could be heard from down the hall.
However, there was a reception desk inside of the building with a little sign that said ring bell for assistance. And there was a little bell sitting next to it...

She wandered up to the desk and her pink eyes flicked from the sign and then to the bell. Her ears listened for a moment to the pop music she could hear almost clearly for the most part and she tried not to let herself get distracted as she reached up a free hand and tapped on the bell.
Maybe she should have brought her mother with her. Too late now.
Wynni waited patiently for someone to come attend to her.

The pop music got a bit louder for a moment as a short woman with poofy brown hair opened her office door and headed down to greet the preteen. "Ah! You're Wynni, right?" she inquired. Seeing as that'd been the only person in that age range who had applied, so far as she knew - and Kayen had warned her about that.

Wynni's mind wandered momentarily as she tried to pick out the lyrics though when she was addressed she started a bit and sheepishly pulled her hands behind her back, just under her limp wings while her tail twitched nervously behind her. She nodded a bit, "Yep, that's me," the spawn smiled trying to hide the fact that she had been startled at all. The hand that clutched the paper just seemed to tighten slightly as if trying to transfer her nerves into that hand.
The poor paper would be in shambles by the time she was done.
"S...So what do I need to do?" Wynni asked curiously.

"Oh, just come with me, don't worry." Apoxi assured her with a warm smile. "I'll show you to the rooms, see if you connect with any of the kids. Would you prefer a brother or a sister?"

Wynni nodded and got ready to follow the woman. She blinked a bit at the question and seemed thoughtful. It really, honestly didn't matter which gender the kidlet was but then again she supposed she would connect with a little girl much easier than a little boy for various reasons, "A little sister," Wynni said clearly with only enough hesitation to think it over.

"Okay then. We can look through the girls." Apoxi agreed, showing the preteen down a hall towards a row of doors. They each led to a moderate sized bedroom where the girls that'd been 'bred' were staying till they were given a family. It wasn't unkind or unpleasant, it was just somewhere comfy to keep them for the time being.
Each door had a window on it but was also unlocked. "Just sorta look and go in and talk to them. Just no promising anyone anything, please. It's really upsetting if you promise a kid you'll take them home and then don't."

Again Wynni nodded her head in agreement at the woman's words. If she couldn't find anyone amongst the little girls she could always change her preference, right? She held her hands behind her back as she looked around this seemed so much nicer somehow than where she was 'adopted' from. Then again maybe the grass always seems greener when on the other side...
"Oh, no I understand, I wasn't going to make promises..." She knew it'd hurt her deeply if someone came and promised her everything and then didn't take her with them after it was all said and done. Wynni stared down at the doors for a moment and seemed to hesitate before settling looking into the windows first before wandering in. It seemed easier to keep herself 'distant' that way.
"There seems to be so many..." The spawn felt momentarily overwhelmed.

Wynni gave a small nod though she still seemed a little uncertain about the entire process. The tip of her tail twitched as she moved from door to door looking in through the handy-dandy window in the doors. Yes this was the best method of doing things, that way she didn't risk making promises she can't keep just because a set of wide hopeful eyes gazed at her. She paused when she saw a young girl in particular in a room of her own.
She made a gesture, "What about that little girl with the pig-tails and two-toned hair...? Could I meet her?" Wynni didn't feel right just walking right into the room as if she owned the place. It wasn't her way to do so. She always asked first no matter what but that was probably because it was a quality her guardian had worked very hard to instill on her.

Apoxi walked over, glancing at the child and nodding. "yeah, she's not dangerous. Go ahead in and talk to her. She doesn't have a name or anything but you two can chat a bit." the brunette assured her companion, opening the door and letting Wynni inside.

Wynni nodded to Apoxi and then quietly wandered into the room.
The small hoofed girl gazed up at the larger ... lizard legged girl with wide blue eyes. She looked so cool! She had been coloring up until the pre-teen came in but now it was on hold as she wandered over and stared up at her with a guileless expression upon her young features, "You're pretties~. You gonna be my big sister?"
The spawn stared down at the girl and tilted her head and gave a small smile, "Maybe," she said vaguely, "My name is Wynni. You have very pretty hair," she reached forward a bit hesitantly and brushed her fingertips over one of the dual colored pigtails and found with some surprise that the girl allowed it and even uttered a small giggle.
"I know~! An' I has pretty feathers! I can do neat stuff if I moves fast 'nough! I show you maybes." She beamed happily.
Wynni gave a small laugh, "That's pretty neat. I can hear really well," the spawn responded as she knelt.
For whatever reason the small girl was really, really taking a liking to the older girl before her she moved closer and gently took Wynni's fingertips into her small hands, "Pleaaaaaaase?"
"Please?" Wynni blinked her pink eyes unprepared for the plea.
"Please be my Big Sister! Gimme home and lemme live with youuu~. Gimme a name?" She stared up at the older girl with bright blue eyes and Wynni couldn't fight it.
"A..Alright..." she agreed and cleared her throat as her name rifled through names, "Adrianna?"
"Eww~" The small girl wrinkled her nose.
Wynni laughed a bit and reached up a free hand to rub at the side of her neck, "Eloise?"
"No way!" The small girl wrinkled her nose in protest.
Oh geeze this was hard when the other one to be named could rebel, "Mnemosyne?"
"Yeah! That'a one!" The girl let out a gleeful sound. She liked the sound of that! Even if it was a bit too 'grandiose' for her right now but still she liked it a lot!
"Let's go Mne~," Wynni said as she stood and reached for the small girl's hand. Mnemosyne took it eagerly and the two began to wander out. Wynni smiled over at Apoxi and nodded her head, "I'll take this one as my little sister~. Have a good day."
Mnemosyne grinned up and waved and the two left.
