Tonight was extremely exciting in a way that almost met birthday-excitement criteria, but not quite. It was at least exciting enough to merit enthused hopping from the boy, with the blanket that was usually tucked carefully under his arm thrown over him like a cape. He kept it that way until he reached the large patch of grass that was once a sports field of some sort: his self-designated stargazing spot. He liked to think that it was the best stargazing spot around, because the little blips of fireflies in the distance made it seem like the stars were all around you. Any other night, he might have played astronaut or gone searching for them with a jar, but there were more important things to be done.

He wasted no time in flopping backward onto the ground, putting grass stains on his adorable comforter that his mother would likely complain about for weeks. The corners of the blanket (appropriately patterned with kittens and puppies) needed to be spread out to make it big enough for people to sit on, and he did so, thinking about how nice it would be to watch stars with friends again. Audrey's message seemed hopeful, and Tallulah has said she'd come. Even in the hallways at school he'd heard the occasional mention of the event; he was more than willing to share the stargazing spot with other people for this. Everyone needed an opportunity to see the pretty shooting stars, and to wish for things they really, really wanted.

Though he did love his friends, he'd been waiting a really long time for this, and he was sure they wouldn't mind if he saw a few before they got here. The wishes would be well-used, he could promise that much! He pulled the sleeves of his band hoodie over his fingertips to remedy the slight chill of the night air and stared into the sky, eagerly awaiting the first sign of a shooting star through the darkness.

The reaction to the newest video had been mixed to the point that some people were beginning to express doubts over their validity. Someone had pointed out the difference in filming styles and now there were rumors ranging between it being some sort of ARG to a government conspiracy to a viral ad campaign for an unreleased movie incubating.

She really needed to stop paying so much attention to the comments. She'd already sworn not to reply to any of them and keep herself mysterious, anyway. When her phone beeped reminding her about the meteor shower party. She changed quickly out of her uniform into jeans and a sweatshirt - not her swim jacket but a hoody with the Destiny University logo on it - told her mother where she was going, grabbed her bag, and headed down to the park.

As she crossed the playground, she noted with some amusement that the totaled swing set was blocked off by police barricades. Well, at least they were doing their jobs - kids could get hurt on that! She reached the field beyond and located Pavel easily - no one else was here yet.

"Hi, Pavel" she said happily and tossed him a pack of Oreos. She looked at the girl with him, and after a moment her face lit up with recognition.

"Hi, Audrey!" she said. She and her former classmate had never exactly been good friends, but it was good to see her. "How are things at Barren Pines?"

She flopped down on the blanket on the other side of Pavel from the bluenette and leaned forward to look attentively at her, waiting to hear everything.

Clinging to Pasha like she'd never let go, Audrey curled her legs up under the blanket and was determined to not move from her spot, no matter who showed up. Of course, if Khal decided that he wanted to sit on her other side, that was perfectly fine, and she'd get up and kiss him if he wanted. But otherwise? No. Not budging.

When the other Meadowview student wandered up bearing delicious treats and curious questions, Audrey had to take a moment to place the face. She was always recruiting for the Model UN, but with Mathletes and raiding, she'd never had the time or the interest. Pasha seemed to like her though, and that was fairly good enough for the Pines student.

"Tallulah! Wow, it seems like it's been forever. Barren Pines is...nice. The work is really challenging and everyone there is really great." Minus those kids who had died of the mysterious breakout of meningitis. But Audrey couldn't, wouldn't mention that. Besides, that wasn't a topic for stargazing. "We actually talked about the meteor shower in science today. I don't have a very long class in that, since it's not why I'm there, but still. Gotta learn the basics. What about Meadowview, anything new there?"

The less said about Barren Pines, the better.

Thin arms wrapped tightly around Audrey's, he leaned his head on her shoulder, listening intently as she explained what Barren Pines was like. It sounded like a whole lot of really work, and that meant it was definitely not the place for him. He'd probably be kicked out on his first day for not paying attention in math class.

"I kinda like public school," he interjected, ever-cheerful as always. "There are lots of nice people who will say hi to me! And not everyone is really mean like at my last school." Glancing over at Tallulah as she addressed him, he hmmned thoughtfully, scrunching up his nose as if it were helping him think.

"Umm! I dunno. I heard some other people from school talking about it, but you guys are the only people I really invited. I hope more come, though, 'cause it's gonna be really pretty soon!" Judging by what the monotonous newscaster had said, which Pasha chose to adamantly believe. Until then, he didn't mind just waiting it out with two of his favorite people.

"I'm -coming- I'm coming! You could have at least let me change back into NORMAL clothing!!" Protested the Drag-e also called "Z"
He more or less slogged up just behind the Blond half slouching into his own hoodie, a simple white afair with black sleeves and a panda face on the arm, until you noticed the hood had ears too.
"Or a different Hoodie...." He mumbled stuffing his hands into the front pocket like a very small irritable bluenet kangaroo.

He too was in PJ pants but they were simple black, but again spotted with a line of panda heads running down one leg. They were also too long for him, folding over his feet and mostly covering the battered grey sneakers he'd shoved his feet into as he was hauled out the door.



He paused a long moment glancing at the 'others' studiously. ".....I'm....Zac..." he said after a moment. He shifted his stance and glanced at Demy again. He'd have felt SO much better if he hadn't been wearing the panda hoodie... the panda ANYTHING so publicly.
God what were people going to -think- about the pandas.

The company looked pretty good, and this Pasha kid seemed like someone Demy could get along with. Good fashion sense, a friend with Oreos, and he thought Demy looked neat. -Perfect-.
"Well hey there Pasha! annnnnd Sereh!"
The blonde turned, giving a wave to the bunny girl as she approached as well. Hrmmm, seems like he had come to the right spot. It certainly seemed like a little star party was forming here!

And then Z was bumping into him, and Demy had to keep himself from shoving playfully back. Z wouldn't like that, he just had to keep reminding himself of that.

Hrm...Z had certainly made himself at home. Well then, it was Demy's turn! The blonde wandered over to his friend, and within mere moments he was sprawled happily on his back with his head sitting in Z's lap. From here he could grin up at his friend and point out the show in the sky...when it happened.

Hey, Z's lap was pretty darn comfy.

Tonight was the night! Beth remembered overhearing somewhere that a very rare event was to happen tonight- and they shouldn't miss out!

Lights all around was not a good sign- so she figured it'd be best to wander to a area with a lot of grass and minimal lights. So of course- she found herself wandering obliviously towards the small group that had gathered. She brought a beach towel and a bag of Doritos's with her to munch on while she waited. Her destination coming into view- she saw the small herd of people that all seemed to be gathering together. A lot of them seemed close to her own age even.

One face in particular stood out from the rest- a familiar one that she had once caught sight of before. "Demy!" She called out grinning broadly- she'd recognize that spiky blond hair anywhere. Picking up her pace she slowed down eventually as she grew closer- he seemed to have a small pack around him. Not wanting to intrude if she wasn't wanted- she looked shyly around "Uhm... do you all mind if i intrude?" She held up the bag of chips almost as if it was a ransom to allow her into the party.
