Delusion picked her way carefully through the forest litter on the ground a recent windstorm had swept a goodly deal of it out from under the towering trees and right onto the den sites. It was quite bothersome really...all this mess and trouble, and not only was it bothersome because of the mess it made upon the ground but it was equally bothersome to step on...or sit on..or even walk near really fore it had a wicked tendency to stick in ones fur in a variety of uncouth and heathenish ways.
She was quite sure that this would not be a problem in their royal home - but alas her family was still in hiding and such expectations could not possibly be reached by the mere peasants ahem..normal wolves they currently resided with. Poor beasts..surely they meant well, but Delusion knew it must be quite a shock to her parents - a burden which the bore quite well.
Wrinkling her nose - only a little - Delusion curled her tail about her forelegs and sat with a long suffering sigh, upon the dirty, unkempt peasant ground. The things she put up with in this place....

The crimson gold leaves crunched satisfyingly under pink paws as the blinding-pelted wolf strode through the area, leaving the dens in search of, well...something. He moved gracefully, smooth and cunning, and on his face was a look of mild contempt, as if autumn was a bother he didn't feel like dealing with.
Hysteria -- Eri -- gave an enormous sigh and continued to pace. His family was driving him nuts with all of their little flaws and problems and oh god, OCD and her counting issue and Delusion and the fact that she believed that they were something they weren't. Eri huffed as he padded along the path, veering off to the right. A scent pricked his nose and he paused, looking around. His gaze settled on Delusion and her brightly colored fur. He groaned. There was no way to avoid her... And it wasn't like he hated his family -- he didn't. In fact, he felt like he was the one who had to protect them.
He sidled up beside her and flopped down with the grace of a moose. "Lo, darling sister," was his wry chuckle. "Doing a little daydreaming?"

Delusion rolled her eyes downwards and gave Eri a rather arch browed look as he flopped down like a fish out of water, the only thing missing from his ungraceful display was some erratic flopping - if he started that up she was quite sure he would have the mimicry down pretty well. Didn't he realize he was a prince? Of course he could just be acting and in that case she would need to commend him on his skills - fore he certainly had the heathen act down quite well.
Despite her thoughts however Delusion found herself glad that this was the sibling who had chosen to grace her with his presence, she loved them all she truly did but some of them were rather tiresome after a while.
"Daydreaming..." Delusion finally responded in her typically poised and silky tone - a tone she felt befitting one of her stature - "Is the actions of an idle mind..my mind, as you should very well know is very rarely idle. I was merely planning" she continued "What of you...out avoiding the others?"

Eri let her ramble. What else could he do? Sure, he could flash a smile and put a paw where it needed to be put -- in her big mouth -- but he figured Mum would look down at that behavior. He was already the most...dark-minded of the puppies. Where Craze danced in lollypop dreams and raced circles around the den, Eri was scouting along the woods, looking for animals of the...sharp clawed variety. Just the look of those daggers, hooked and dangerous, set his head spinning. Oh what they would feel like lodged in his shoulder or his back. He could just imagine the glitter of blood springing up from the wounds as he nursed them, tender...
Where was he? He gave a growl and keep him back on track. Idle mind. Yes, yes, sure. "Of course, of course." He waved a paw in the air. "And...out of curiosity, what were you planning?" Question averted. Good job, Eri. He felt the need to pat himself on the back, but he wagged his tail instead.

Did he just growl at her? Delusion drew back her lips in a slight grimace, such unsavory behavior...really at this rate her siblings would have a hard time shaping up hen they reclaimed their throne. They ought to be following her lead she really saw no reason they should loose all sense of proper etiquette just because they walked with the peasants. But then Eri had always been prone to such actions - he was a tad on the violent side of things to her mind. He would make a fine warrior knight when they returned home, perhaps this was a path she would suggest to him sometime.
In any case she was spared the necessity of scolding him for acting so lowly by his slightly wagging tail, clearly he was apologizing for his unruly behavior and the mere fact that he knew it was uncouth was enough to lift Delusions spirits somewhat - perhaps she was starting to brush off on her siblings at long last! Wasn't that a pleasant thought?
"what was I planning?" She asked in exasperation, really she wasn't sure what her siblings spent their time thinking about but she could only think of one thing worth pondering herself "Why how to go about getting us back where we belong obviously" She concluded with a slight huff "Really brother you should spend some time thinking on it yourself, you'd be far more capable of doing something towards our goal then say...OCD. I doubt the Unmentionable Evil will stand still long enough for her to run about it 8 times before fighting after all"

He watched her through soulful blue eyes, a smile creasing his maw at the mention of OCD. Oh yes, she would probably run around 8 times. But... "What's the Unmentionable Evil? And...why are we mentioning it?" he asked dryly, tilting his head at her. Because surely she had a reason she acted so uppity. Eri had never gotten close enough to this sister to ask why. Now he was asking, and he waited patiently for an answer. And gods help him if she didn't give him a cut-and-dry one, he'd tear her freaking tail from her backside.
Slowly, he slid into a laying position, placing a big head on equally big paws and giving a small sigh. Delusion was more adult than his own mother. Sad, really. He shook his head and waited for her reply. There was nothing better to do, after all.

Delusion cast an annoyed look at her brother, shouldn't he know this already?!? But then Delusion reasoned her siblings were all a bit less..sturdy..then herself, some of them she thought were downright fragile and it made sense that her parents might have kept the truth a bit more candy coated for them. Yes now that she thought back on it her mind concocted a scene where she was quite clearly alone when the truth was unveiled to her. Her brow furrowed slightly as she recalled this - perhaps she shouldn't tell her siblings either, but Hysteria had asked and to Delusions mind he was quite sane enough to know. Why it was his right to know!
Mind set Delusion turned slightly so she better faced him and after a quick glance about to ensure that no one else lingered close by launched into her explanation. "The unmentionable evil is what over threw our kingdom and forced our family into hiding, we don't say his name because there might be spies in the woods - or even here among this peasant pack we take refuge in, spies that would sell us out before we even had a chance." She told him in a quiet voice.

He hadn't expected such an elaborate tale... Eri stared at her, deadpanning. She was...completely serious about this. It was like a fairytale gone wrong. Complete with baddies and kingdoms. He raised a slender brow, but said nothing, thinking about it for a moment. Could it be possible? Could their family truly be in hiding, so to speak, from some big bad wolf? He felt his lip turn up at the idea, then dismissed it.
"Del..." he began, using his nickname for her. "You mean there could be spies lurking around every corner?" Blue eyes widened just a fraction, but he was playing his part well. Let her believe he believed her... He scooted closer. "What is his name?" he practically whispered, eyes alight.

Delusion waited patiently for the shock of her revelation to settle somewhat in his mind. It was to be expected this shock - she knew what she had told him was quite a bit to take in and so she forgave his deadpanned look. She could tell when her words actually sank in by the slight curl of his lip...he was angry. He had a right to be angry! They ought not live like this..her family deserved so much better.
She wasn't even surprised when he scooted foreward and demanded the evil ones name, of course he would want to know but it was far to dangerous to tell him and she certainly couldn't chance him running off to try and defeat him."No" she told him firmly, even stamping a fore paw to accentuate this point 'I can't tell you Eri, someone will hear...or you'll try to run off and find him and I don't wish to loose my brother as well as my home to him!" She declared.
