Silas sat warily on the park bench, never letting one of his odd eyes leave the sight of his foster daughter Corentine as she diligently rolled her beloved glitter ball through the sand in the sand box. He gnawed his lip nervously as he scribbled down a few half-hearted notes in his notebook, trying to pretend he wasn't afraid. Not for Coren, no, but for the other children. Corentine was the epitome of 'does not play nice', and although he obediently had fulfilled her desire to go to the park, he was really just waiting on tenderhooks for something to go terribly wrong.
Coren was blissfully unaware of her foster father's worries as she made an increasingly deep ditch in the sand with her glitter ball, a determined look on her face. The point of this activity seemed only relevant to her, but it was apparently of extreme importance, as she snarled fearsomely whenever one of the other kids walked by her ditch, or heaven forbid tripped over it. She had almost attacked one boy for doing so three times! They were so STUPID, she thought bitterly as she worked.

Charline snarled a bit as she hauled Chordata off away from the third kid she almost knocked the socks off of. Such trivial things set the girl off it seemed, looking at her the wrong way, saying hello in a 'threatening' manner, even existing it seemed.
The only reason why Charline intervened at all was she knew Chordata could and would have most likely killed those kids instantly. Now, if a kid looked like they had fight in them, she was just going to step back and watch the show. This wasn't HER kid anyway. She wasn't 100% sure how Mai conned her into taking this thing to the park, but like hell she was going to not enjoy herself.
"You keep it down,,," she hissed at the fish girl as she scoped out a 'playmate' suitable for the beast. Ah, now that one in the sandbox seemed promising.
"Why don't you play with that kid over there?" she suggested.
Chordata ceased her growling and hissing as she looked at the kid. She was playing with a pretty ball. Seemed like fun.
Charline smirked as she watched the kid toddle over to the sandbox, amused.

Corentine blinked at the hissing and hunched her shoulders, pushing her ball in the sand a little more fervently. Not that she was afraid of such a weird-looking person, but she also didn't particularly like getting in fights. It was a necessity, not a pass-time. As such, she curled her tail around herself, trying to make herself smaller. She was the same color as the sand, after all; maybe she could turn invisible... Still, just to show that she wasn't a scary-pants, she sent a low, threatening growl-hiss towards the fish, warning her not to come near.
Silas had almost dozed off there in the warmish November sun, but somehow he was able to hear his foster daughter's growl from a good nine feet away. Parental superpower, mayhaps. Anyway, he quickly sat bolt upright, looking nervously at the interaction between the two Senka. As much as he was afraid of what was about to happen, something held him back from interfering. Maybe they'd become friends... Yeah, just friends...
Or maybe someone would end up losing an eye.

Eyes narrowed and teeth bared at the less then welcoming greeting the girl was giving off. If Chordata had one hair on her body, it would have been pricked up, but fins never really could take on that effect. Still, her hands started to clench and unclench, preparing to strike if need be.
"Gots a problem?" she snarled finally.

Corentine hissed again quietly, fingers digging possessively into her glitter ball. If that girl tried to take it... Her tail began to lash threateningly, and she stared daggers at the girl's legs, avoiding her eyes at all costs. Eye contact was the worst ever, even worse than touch contact, except for with Trois-momma, who was nice and pretty and the best at everything in the entire world, especially better than the rat-thing her silly brother liked so much because he was dumb.
A little dizzy from this thought process, her voice dropped part of its fierce tone, leaving only a guarded impression. "You gots pro'lem. Silly fins..." she commented without meaning to, inexplicably forgetting the possible fight and just staring at the fins. They were so weird...

Another snarl emitted from Chrodata's mouth. She needed no more words, no snappy comebacks. She had been itching for a fight all day, and this time her stupid aunt was too far away to stop her before she got a few good blows in.
A hand sped towards Corentine's face, because as a toddler, things like punching were things Chordata was unaware of, so a well placed slap would have to do for now.

Coren yelped pitifully when the hand struck her face, falling down and dropping her glitter ball into the ditch she had made. The pain was surprising to the toddler, and made her head spin as she slowly righted herself. She had never felt something so... odd before. Odd and bad.
When she was upright once again, a fierce snarl was all of the warning that the fish-girl had before Corentine tackled her, gnashing her teeth angrily and flailing at the girl's body. Contact or no contact, that had hurt and made her dizzy. The stupid other person decided to play.
Silas winced as he saw his charge tackle the other girl, limbs wheeling and striking without discrimination. He took a hesitant step forward, wondering if it was a normal parent thing to try and stop this, but then faltered and simply sunk father into himself. Coren could take care of herself. And if she couldn't... She could take care of herself.
