Shaking sand from his coat was a constant thing. Kosuke had to do a lot of grooming to keep clean in the desert. Even with the scars from his fights with Jyotika and Bodaway, though, he felt his coat was one that impressed. The scars were just a nice touch. Wandering around a rock formation, he was captivated by a sight that always made his breath catch. There was Shula, once again dancing, off by herself. And once again... She was innatentive of her surroundings...
Unlike her previous dance, Shula's current was one made of faster movements. It was almost as if she was fighting with the air, as her paws moved quickly and her body twisted. She had long ago made logic of her dancing. It made her nimble, and it made it easy for her to twist in ways not possible or easy for many other lions. When she stumbled and hit the sand, the lioness growled to herself, picking herself up. This wasn't working...
Now that was something he didn't particularly like to see. He'd never seen Shula fall. Shaking his head, the male went over, standing next to her. "Do you need help?" He didn't know much about dancing, but she did... Maybe she could help him, too. If he danced, maybe he would be a better fighter.
Gasping and looking over at the intrusion to her seclusion, Shula found herself staring at the male who'd walked in on her last dance. Slowly getting up, she eyed him warily. He wasn't laughing... But then.. He'd joined her for her last dance... Maybe he wasn't SO bad. "No, just... I can't get these steps right..." Flicking an ear, she thought a moment, then smiled at him. "Maybe I need to change my dance!" She jumped around him, nudging him. "Come on, dance with me!"
Letting out a surprised sound, Kosuke took a few steps forward. "But I don't know how to dance!" Besides that last time, when she'd been singing, he didn't know... Anything. "Where do I begin? What do I do? Can you teach me...?" If he made the wrong move, he'd end up with his face in the sand, or in a rock. Neither outcome was very dignifying for a Firekin noble.
Forgetting her shyness, Shula giggled. "You just... Dance!" She made a sweeping motion with her paws, stepping almost efortlessly into a new dance. "Like this!" Jumping to the side, she made another sweeping motion, moving in a fluid motion with every step. "It helps if you have a song in mind, too, to give you a rythem to dance to!" Nudging him, Shula's face was alight with a smile. "Sing for me! Come up with a song!"
So that was why she was singing before... Following her steps, Kosuke was soon in step with her. A song, a song, he needed a song... Ears flicking forward, he thought and smiled as words came to mind. "I heat up, I can't cool down.. You got me spinning round and round... Round and round, and round it goes.. Where it stops, nobody knows... Every time you call my name.. I heat up like a burning flame. Burning flame, full of desire..." He reached a paw for her, barely missing her. "Kiss me, baby, with the fire, get higher!"
Letting out another giggle, Shula danced away. Slowly, they stepped further from the rock formations, both dancing the whole time. Every time his paw reached for her, Shula danced away, twisting this way and that. The whole time, she wondered if the song had meaning, or at least deeper meaning. Jumping onto a rock, she leaned down, giving him a teasing look.
Abra, abracadabara... The words danced in his mind now, seeming to take over every thought. "You make me hot, you make me sigh.. You make me laugh, you make me cry..." Jumping after her, he perched on the rock, tail curling around her a bit. "Kee me burning for your love, with a touch of a velvet glove..." When she jumped away, he let out a bit of a rumble. "Abra, abracadabra... I wanna reach out and grab ya..."
Laughing and brushing her tail along his side, Shula jumped down, dancing off. She wasn't letting him catch her THAT easily! When he got close again, still singing, she twisted away, her smile and laughter reflecting in her violet eyes. Jumping her way up a dune, she waited at the top, sides heaving.
Following her, he did his best to twist around her. It didn't work quite as well as her twisting moves, but he also didn't have all the practice she did. "I see magic in your eyes, I hear the magic in your sighs.. Just when I think I'm gonna get away, I hear those words that you always say..." Had he finally caught her? Maybe he had. A rather angry roar near by told him he hadn't. When he looked up, his ears folded back at the sight of the old male.
Looking between Kosuke and Bodaway, Shula hesitated, then hurried over behind her father. When she looked back, her eyes reflected that whatever spell the singing and dancing had cast, hadn't been FULLY broken by Bodaway's approach. She'd be back later, and want to dance more. With a flick of her tail, she hurried off to the dens to rest.
