Okay, the best way ever to get your mind of bad things was to put on your headphones, man up, and play some violent MMORPGs. Not World of Warcraft, since only social rejects played that. Something with plot. Something with class. Something involving her beloved xBox 360. Something like...
Team Fortress 2.
She started the console up, slotted in the game: logged on, signed in, and set to finding an open server. It didn't take long; her usual Arena game was wide open, a new game beginning in a few minutes. Arena mode suited her today; she waited for a few minutes while the level loaded up, found a bowl of cold popcorn on her desk. Snack food! Excellent. She'd just kill some bitches, and then be totally calm. BLU snipers for the win, right?
"Tkonstantin, here," she said into her headphones' mic once her character had spawned. It was really a shame you couldn't kill with the sniper taunt. She started to head towards the high ground - someone was following her, and she stopped her character and turned him around. "What's up?"

((Never played the game, so if they wouldn't hear each other's REAL voices, lemme know. I'd be happy to edit))
-It was go time.
Classes over, girlfriend attended to, and snacks procurred and arranged about his bed to start the ritual that made up most of the Lucas' afternoons and evenings.
It was like an addiction really.. something he began to crave if he hadn't done it for a couple days. His fingers would begin to tap the desks at school in the finger pattern of Mortal Kombat special attacks. He'd even start to get snappy.. aggresive.
It was the sort of thing that was a problem.. but when said problem was a gift... noone really worried about trying to cure it.
Turning on the XBox, he grabbed a random box from his tower of games worth playing more than once, placing the disk into the system without looking at it, and flopped into bed.
The game screen popped up, and he nodded. Not one of his favorites, or particularly frequent games, but it was a good game nonetheless. And it was good to give the mind and skills some variety.
Diddling with the class screen for a moment, he finally settled upon a Scout, something that took atleast an ounce of skill considering it's low defense.-
"Luver Under Cover, ready to kick some ******** a**." -The teams split, the characters spawned, and Lucas began to make his way through the gamefield, noticing himself fairly close to another blue blip. When the feminine voice emited from the screen, he couldn't help but grin. Girl players.. whether they sucked severely or not were a treasure.-
"Hey babe." -He crooned, HE thought he sounded charming, and he offered a bit of advice before he slipped off ahead, searching for a good place to start, as he tried to gauge if the other team was setting forth any sort of team strategy.- "Keep your eye on 'SeeYaL8er', he can be a beast sometimes."

[Neither have I, I'm shamelessly using my swine-flu-inflicted friends in here with me as reference material. ;d]
This guy sounded like an a*****e. This was something she could excuse if he had a modicum of talent, so she'd hold back judgement for now. Hey, they were playing with friendly fire off. If it turned out he wasn't an asset to the team, she played her A-game as a sniper. Once she was happily settled up in a water tower-like setting (where the hell did the game developers get ideas like this, really, it was ridiculous) she framed up a few headshots - SeeYaL8er, masterk (honestly did he stalk her everywhere) and finally, for kicks, Luver Under Cover.
God, what a ridiculous name.
"Thanks for the tip," she said anyway. "Masterk's a pretty deadly Heavy, too, just so you know." The announcer came over the game channel then with the happy news that the game had begun - kill all opposition!
She had waited for this. Tate - tkonstantin - BLU sniper, whoever - hit the trigger button and watched Masterk fall. "Boom," she said cheerfully, "headshot. Points for me!"

((That's fine. XD It just means we can mangle the game to our likes without anyone getting horrified! ))
"Thanks for the head's up" -He rattled off out of habit and sheer team politeness. It was not something that was going to last. Lucas was a potty mouth when it came to gaming. An aggressive, easily baited potty mouth.
The scout character was an interesting one... extremely fast.. extremely capable with a bitchin' scattergun that could do some serious damage if used properly. Only thing was, you had to do what you could to not get hit. It was like the sniper, gone freaking lunatic and kamikaze.
But man that double jump, it was a delicious thing.
Lucas hopped, and moved, and hopped through the level, looking more like a rabid bunny then a 'solider'. As long as he moved constantly.. it would be pretty hard for most players to target him. And luckily for L U C, it really didn't play against him that badly, he'd practiced long and hard enough to get pretty good at aiming even when the screen was less than 'still'.
A barrage of scatter gun shots sent a red player to the ground, but not before Lucas could call out after him with an amused tone.- "Go home and cry to your mommy b***h"

Boom! Headshot. Headshot. Headshot--LUC was pretty fast, but so was Tate, and in Arena mode, your enemies didn't regenerate. Maybe next time she'd better make sure to choose the opposite side compared to this a*****e. "Stop screwing around and play the game," grated Tate as she sniped Lucas's RED Heavy. She had been trying to line up a Spy for three minutes now. It was not going well.
Between Luver Under Cover, tkonstantin and a few others on the BLU team, there were soon only two or three people left on the screen from the other team, and all of them seemed to be out in the open.
"What the ******** is up with that," asked Tate to no one in particular. If she was on the RED team and knew that a BLU sniper with a pretty badass accuracy rating was about, she would be going to find the ******** sniper, not sitting around with her thumbs up her a** in clear view of her.

"Ohhh, don't get your panties in a twist."
-From his highpoint it was pretty easy to take out the dipshit that was cruising through the open pit in front of him. And as the numbers dwindled, LUC began to track down the two remaining characters, picking off one relatively easily. That last elusive spy though... They traded fire and cover for a good thirty seconds before a well placed shot accounced the end of the game. BLU team won.
And what do you know.. Tkonstantin and Luver Under Cover rested at the top of the score boards, an equal number of kills.-
"Pretty good babe, pretty damn good." -He crooned as the deaths were spelled out across the screen. Giving the screen a thumbs up, that she could of course not see.-
"The rest of you guys ******** suck though. Seriously.. we pretty much carried this game alone. You little bitches five or something?" -Not only a girl.. but a damn good gamer too. Or atleast, a good sniper. The sniper was kind of a pansy choice in his opinion. It took you out of most the battle.. making it far too easy for glory without any real risk being taken. He wouldn't begrudge her for it though, she was obviously doing a pretty fine job at it.- "If you're ever in Destiny City you should track me down babe."

"How do you know I'm wearing panties," came the automatic snark back. A moment after she realized what she'd said, she continued hurriedly, "After all, there are many different kinds of undergarments and not all of them are capable of twisting. You know what they say about assumptions, right?" Tate couldn't quite hide the embarrassment in her voice. Why didn't she think before snarking?
She resettled herself in her seat. "Thanks, you too. Don't b***h at them, they're probably newbies." Pause. "I live in Destiny City. I've won the regional tournaments for Soul Calibur every year. See you next round?" Tate was already moving over to a different team and class - if he saw tkonstantin on the player list, maybe he'd go looking for a Sniper instead of her other favorite - the Spy.

-Oh he'd taken the bait, physically sitting forward a little as his smirk grew across his face. Just as quickly as she'd snarked, he retorted back playfully.- "Ohhh, going commando? I go into the world assuming girls are wearing panties, but it's a fine fine surprise when they aren't. I highly approve."
-His comment was followed by a few other less than appropriate comments from other male gamers on the frequency, which only made him grin more.
He'd been ready to leave her alone.. kind of. Not really concerned with being reteamed with her again, until a VERY interesting bit of information sounded, and he responded suddenly.- "Seriously? I'm shacked up at Barren Pines"
-But the next game was already beginning. The familar tag was there, but this time on the opposite team. New mission... screw the game. Hunt her down and challenge her. She might be a city wide competitor, but Lucas had been country wide.. even world wide at one point. Certainly HE could beat her, even if Soul Calibur wasn't his specality game of choice.-
"I'm coming for you Commando."
((Wanna roll a dice 1-10 to so who will eventually kill the other in this game round? ))

[Oh, Lucas can win. * __ * Tate will put up a pretty good fight, though smile ]
Ugh, perverts. This was why she liked Soul Calibur! No voice chat to be found at all. Well, there was, but it was normally things like agh that b***h just whipped my a** and hax! haaax!
Tate did not hack games.
"Barren Pines?" She was a little distracted now, half her mind stabbing a Scout in the back and the other half on what Luver Under Cover had just said. "Do you know Giselle Petrova?" Hungry for news about her best friend, she almost let an Engineer spot her before she dropped his sentinel.

-He cruised through the game, eyes fixed on the figures that popped up before him, taking note of their names before he went past them or.. in the case of an unlucky paired solider and medic, fried the crap out of them.
Where was she... where was she..? He was undistracted by the chatter, used to keeping his big mouth open for a good portion of his gaming sessions.- "Uptight, little bit of a snore, but supremely hot? Yeah, I know Giselle. We've had a couple classes together."
-A string of pleased obscenities sounded as L U C's fireax dispatched a Heavy he'd managed to sneak up on.-

"She's not a snore," said Tate defensively; she got rid of a BLU Pyro and stole his face. Almost done, just a couple more players and then it'd be just L U C and her in the arena. Changing her view around, she checked the surrounding area; nobody coming, nobody going, no clues as to where anyone else was other than the HUD on the bottom right corner of the screen.
So she went left, as it didn't really matter in the end, and set a Heavy on fire. (Why did this game have so many Heavies?)

"History just isn't my thing. I'm more about the here and now." -He replied in retort. He didn't know the girl very well, but she was most definately one of the many at the school with a superiority complex, and that did not bode incredibly well for the students with less than acedemic specialties. It hadn't been enough to keep him from hitting on her on occassions, but otherwise the blonde was mostly beautiful scenery to the pale haired male.
He'd spotted a sniper finally, as he barely and luckily missed getting his a** handed to him, and quickly he made his way up to their position, frowning when he noticed the unfamilar name. Setting the sniper ablaze, he scanned the lower areas for the remaining players, beginning his path down when he noticed what appeared to be another pyro.-

History didn't have to be your thing for you to like Giselle, thought Tate. The brunette didn't like history either, she didn't like any of the courses offered at school except computer literacy and art. Those were not many classes. It was like two of the eight she took daily.
She spotted his handle and grinned, a tiny vicious thing that probably would have been scary if Luver Under Cover had been able to see it. As it was, the malice in her voice practically dripped off every syllable as she said "Eat butterfly knife," and went for the kill.
Unfortunately, it required a lot of accuracy, and Tate was distracted by the other player's insinuation that her best friend was boring. She missed, and then her cover was blown.

-Perhaps she should have stayed quiet, a skill that would do him A LOT of good, for Lucas was able to just barely sidestep. He didn't even have to look at her gamer tag to know it was her.
He mashed the trigger button, she far too close now to dodge the encompassing blow of the flamethrower, and as her character went ablaze Lucas began to laugh, taunting her with amusement.- "Guess I got you all hot after all babe, didn't I?"
-The game screen proclaimed the victory, shifting to the screen that would locate new players for new games. Lucas wouldn't be in the next game, however, Tate would find a nice little message in her inbox when she got around to checking it.-
Hey babe, I beat you, so that probably means you owe me a date or something. I'll go get your info from Giselle, but if you can't wait that long hunt me down. Student directory - Hen - 18
