Most guys didn't like shopping.
Demy was not like -most- guys. For the most part, shopping didn't bother him. Sure, if it was only for stuffy formal wear he'd likely get bored quickly, and a bored Demy was -never- a good thing. But when left to his own devices shopping could be fun.
Nevermind the fact his idea of 'shopping' was seeing how many glowsticks and shiny trinkets he could incorporate into one outfit.
Which of course led him to his current endeavor of scouring the trinket shop at the mall for any cute shiny things he could add to his collection. Bonus points if it was brightly (bordering on eyerape) colored or star shaped. And oh man, if it was both brightly colored -and- starry...well it was likely Demy already owned it. BUT he could always hunt for more, right?

While most guys might not like shopping, she as a girl loved shopping. One thing she tended to hate more than anything was shopping alone.
She was still working on her christmas shopping... because she felt that anyone shes known deserved something! Most of her friends baked during the holidays, but Beth is a horrible cook whom burns anything she touches... so she just stopped trying.
Her red shoes clinked on the pavement of the outdoor mall with a soft echo on the walls. Her new dress swayed in the wind which was... a bit strong today. She was on a mission- she chose to accept this mission and detour out of the way to possibly one of her favorite shops. That shop being, a cute little accessory shop.
The shop door jingled as it opened and closed with a thud behind her. Her grin spreading across her face when she saw the store- this felt like a second home to her. She had a routine in here... it started with her in the back, and working her way to the front. Behind a tarp in the back their was a dark room that not many knew about- they kept all the glow in the dark things in their. This was where she found the heart clip on her head- which not many knew glowed in the dark. It sure showed up loud and clear as she entered the room though, passing someone with blond spikey hair as she moved the cloth to the hidden room.

The jingle of the door hardly registered in his mind, nor the the thud that followed it. If someone else was in the store all it meant was they had pretty good taste, and Demy was too far into his 'mission' of the ultimate new shiny trinket.
Well..he -was- until something caught his eye. Above all other levels of 'awesome' sat the best, the most awesome thing of all...and that was anything that glowed. And here, walking right past him, was a rather cute girl with a glowing hairclip.
He couldn't resist, he simply couldn't resist the urge to follow her wherever she was going. If she had -one- glowing thing, she surely knew where more were, right?
"Hey."
It was a quick greeting, made with an attempt to step in front of the girl and get her attention. It was accompanied by a tiny wave and a harmless grin. Demy was simply trying to be polite..in his overbearing PAYATTENTIONTOME sort of way.
"Nice hairclip!"
Nice didn't really describe it. It was pretty damn -spiffy- in his book. But surely she already knew this right? She -was- wearing it afterall.

In her own little world- she learned too late that a sudden wall that came flying out of no where in her pathway appeared. With a soft THUDing noise- she felt herself backing up dazed with little stars floating around her subconscious. She REALLY needed to stop meeting people this way
"I...uh...buh...what?" She said momentarily dazed- shaking her head she came back down to earth. "I mean! Thank you!" She touched the hairclip in question- momentarily blocking the glow.
"Do you like glowing things? If so back here their is a room solely for blacklight and glowing things- its where i found this." Once again she pointed at the hairclip. Not really waiting for him- she walked into the room behind the tarp- it was like a hidden room!

He had opened his mouth to reply, and....well then she was gone. Crap. Apparently his method of HEY HEY. LOOKIT ME didn't work.
He'd just have to remedy that. Besides, he liked glowing things!
"In fact I do..."
Demy followed her behind the tarp, eying the hidden room. Now why...-why- would you hide something this awesome? A room full of blacklights and glowing things and just...argh! It was amazing damnit and the blonde couldn't understand why anyone would keep such a room of wonders hidden.
"Hoooooly...."
Eyes wide, the boy stopped a few steps into the room and just -stared- around at everything.

She really didnt mind that the treasures of this room remained hidden from the outside- she considered it her present to herself for being a regular customer. Besides, she had first pick of everything this way.
The darkness didnt flatter her complexion at all- the only thing that really indicated she was there was the glowing heart that seemed to flutter around the room as she walked.
The shinies totally distracted her... she totally forgot about the poor guy she nearly bowled over. Putting down the glowstick necklace holder she was eyeing she turned around abruptly. "Oh my god im so sorry i didnt mean to ignore you hi my named Beth i go to Meadowview i'm 15 i love sweet things and glowy things and..." The list went on and on for what seemed to be ages..

Demy snapped his attention away from all the glowing things around him and turned it towards Beth. Whoaaaa, she could talk fast! ...Awesome! So could he! They could totally be good friends. Or something!
"Well hey there Beth! Just call me Demy! I go to Hillworth man, it's kind of a drag. Glowy things kickass and so do stars! And hey, you're 15? Me too man!"
Keeping up with her wasn't really a problem. Hell his brain usually rambled along at this speed too. Really he was just relieved to finally find someone who did the same thing!

Her rambling continued on until Demy spoke next- a blush on her face that could probably radiate its own glowing effect in the dark room appeared. She shut up almost instantly.
"...wait. You actually kept up with what i was saying?" She stared at the other boy in amazement- he could actually understand her babblings? Well well now.
"I think we're gonna be great friends, Demy." She said- instantly clinging to his arm and tugged him deeper into the darkroom. She didnt care that he was a stranger- or that she was dragging him deeper into the room. She wanted to show him some of the well hidden things. "Sometimes the good things back here are buried- unfortunately."

"And...you kept up with me?"
Demy grinned rather hopefully. Man, if they could keep up with each other this really would be the start of a beautiful friendship.
"I think so too---where we going?"
The boy grinned, letting the other lead him around. It was cute, really. Two kids with similar interests parading their way through a secret backroom of glowing wonders.
"Ohhhh, so...it's like a treasure hunt? A glowy treasure hunt, yeah? Well that can be fun too! You find a lot of neat things back here?"

A secret backroom of glowy wonders indeed.
"How about we make a game out of it- then." She grinned- ready for a new challenge with her friend. "First person to find a glowy item- all the colors of the rainbow- and its ONLY that color... wins. And the loser pays for lunch sometime." What she didnt mention was that even if she DID win- she'd pay anyways.
The trick to this was- upon further inspection and looking around- a LOT of the items had more than one color on them. Thats where the hard part came in!

Except...yeah, a lot of these things glowed in multiple colors. ...Huh. This was going to be interesting, but a challenge worthy of his (rather short) attention span!
Departing from his newfound friend's side, Demy started to scour the backroom for an object in each color of the rainbow. At least he knew the rainbow pretty well. ROY G BIV. ROY G BIV. Just keep saying that to yourself Demy and you'll be able to tackle this challenge no problem!

Beth was snickering the whole time- she admitted she DID have a bad advantage if this was indeed Demy's first time back here... but she soon found herself just as lost as he was- a lot of the things around here were new. Old things were also not in the same place- they must have rehauled it... well crap.
"Found Red!" She grinned pulling out a necklace with a heart glowy at the end of it. "Im going to win!" She was just trying to goad him on- friendly competitions.

"Oh yeah? Found blue!"
He held up a bracelet with glowing blue moons danging off it. Hey, that was pretty cool, would have been better as stars though.
"Still so sure you're gonna win?"
His own tone was upbeat and friendly. A glowing competition was a kind of race he could really get into.
Now, what next? Demy moved to a new area of the backroom, looking for the next item to their treasure hunt.

Shoot, he was good at this too! He had also found his first glowy thing. She wrapped the necklace around her wrist- and went back to searching. She soon found a glowing yellow hairpin. "I see yellow!" She grinned and plucked it off the shelf. She wasnt entirely sure if she would win at this point but hell, alls fun in love and war?
She clipped the hairpin onto the necklace already wrapped around her wrist. What she forgot to say was... she would also pay for all the items they found. Gift to her new friend!

Shoot, she was pretty good at this game. That was okay though, it was fun no matter what! Demy slipped the bracelet around his own wrist and continued the search.
Soon enough...
"Found green!"
He held up a glowing green keychain featuring...an alligator of all things, before adding it to the bracelet and continuing the search.
