The Last Remnant is an rpg with a difference. Very much like final fantasy in graphics terms its a very good game for those of us who have the patents to play. The fights are carried out in groups of units called unions which are explained in game, i find this refreshing because of the number of units that are able to participate in battle even early on. The ability to upgrade your weapons is interesting sometimes annoying when you cant find the item you need.
The games main character is Rush Sykes who has a simple mission find and save his sister who has been kidnapped. Early in the game Rush finds an ally in the Marquis of Athlum, David Nassau, and his four generals, which is a good twist on the beginning of the game because it gives the player a good chance to get to grips with the game whilst having a powerful enough force that any mistakes aren't going to end the game, which is frustrating if you haven't saved.
Overall a very good game with a lots of playability for those with the patents to get through the tough times.
