Kimmie...Kimmie didn't know what to think, right now. Yesterday had been scary enough, with that...that horrible, bloody man attacking her and Marit. And then the tentacles...and it was just too much. She wanted to fight back, but she couldn't. So many strange things seemed to be happening at the school, just like Cameron had said. Maybe she should've listened to her parents...taken up their offer of transferring. But her friends were here...what if strange things were happening to them, too?

And then last night, that dream. She'd been so hungry...a-and he'd just been there. She'd screamed at herself to stop, horrified by what she could see herself doing, but it hadn't made a difference...she'd still bitten, still tasted blood. And then woken, still as hungry as ever.

And suddenly she was on the right floor, in from of Cameron's door. She knocked once, then again harder. She wasn't aware of the tears running down her face, just of the fact that...well, she really needed a hug. And so as soon as the door opened she pretty much threw herself at Cameron, arms clinging around his neck as she hugged him tightly, shaking.

Cameron was hungry. No, wait, that was a definite understatement. Cameron was famished. He'd had the strangest dream last night, all full of blood and starvation and then, finally, release. Kind of. He'd woken up hungrier than he could ever remember being.

Gory, bloody dreams rarely bothered Cameron. He watched so many horror movies that his nighttime ramblings often involved zombies or satanic children or warewolves. He would be the first to admit that yes, sometimes he did dream in gore. So waking up with a massive protein craving didn't bother him. The very first thing he'd done was raid the first floor kitchen and find, much to his delight, a package of hot dogs. Piling his arms with the dogs and the buns and some mustard and saurkraut he'd returned to his room, heated up his hot plate and gleefully looked forward to a six-dog breakfast.

He was just in the middle of his second hot dog and still somehow famished when there was a knock on the door. A desperate, hurried knock. That was unusual...but he wasn't really worried. Not a lot of things worried Cameron. At least, not for very long. Getting up reluctantly he opened the door to see what kind of drama was waiting for him... and got an armful of Kimmie. The force of her hug was enough to make him almost drop his breakfast on the floor.

"Kimmie?" Cameron frowned, pulling back enough to see the expression on her face. "Here, come in. Have a hot dog. Whats wrong?" He said all this as he tugged her into his not-so-clean room and sat her on the bed. Then he sat himself next to her, taking another huge, satisfying bite of the dog while he waited for her response.

She only started shivering more, once realizing how much of an idiot she was being. A pathetic, weak idiot. But she couldn't help it. She just needed some comfort, some reassurance that everything had been a bad, bad dream. Kimmie herself was a fan of horror movies, but sometimes...sometimes it just got too much. She felt herself being tugged into his room and sat on his bed, sleeves flying up to furiously wipe away the tears. Ugh, why had she come to Cameron, of all people! He'd just think she was some pathetic girl again. Like all the ones he usually scored. She found herself briefly wondering if that was all she was - another, albeit slightly more difficult, catch. Were they actually friends?

...No, that was unfair. She was being unfair.

"S-Sorry," she mumbled, refusing to look at him as she looked down at the ground instead, gripping her knees tightly, "I...I'm just being s-stupid." But was she? She watched her knuckles, gripping her knees tighter and watching them turn white, before relaxing and watching as she blood returned. She had to talk to someone - she couldn't just not say anything. "You...you know what you said, the other day? About weird stuff happening?"

She cut off, furiously wiping away more tears as she gave another shiver. Why was she here!?

Carefully, Cameron finished chewing the last bite of his hot dog and watched his friend. She was clearly distraught. He didn't know what to do with a girl who was crying - despite his love of women their emotions often baffled him and he rarely bothered to try and understand them. They were what they were, right?

But Kimmie was upset, and Kimmie had come to him. And since Kimmie was one of the few women in his life who would speak up for herself, he usually listened. Wiping his mouth on the back of his sleeve, Cam went over to her and put an arm around her shoulder. This part he could do, he just didn't know what he was supposed to do about the tears...

"You're not being stupid." That sounded right. "What about the weird stuff? Those were mostly rumors, you know. I didn't mean to scare you..." Belatedly, the lightbulb went off in his brain. "Oh. Something happened to you, didn't it?" Duh, Captain Obvious.

He put his hand around her shoulder, and her first instinct was to shrug it off. It was just instinct with Cameron. He'd tried it on with her so many times she just automatically shrugged him off and pushed him away. But this time she didn't want to - this time she needed the comforting. So she actually willingly moved a little closer, knowing she'd regret this all in the morning. Cameron would never let her hear the end of this. But right now, Kimmie didn't care.

Not being stupid? She snorted - Cameron didn't have a clue. Why had she come to him for comforting, again? Ugh, she didn't even know! She'd just subconsciously come to her door, so obviously there were some subconscious messages in the back of her mind. And then it seemed to click in his mind and she rolled her eyes, before giving a small nod. "I...Me and Marit, were in my room. Just...just talking. Catching up." She began, pausing to let a shudder run down her spine, swallowing a lump in her throat before finally continuing, "And...And this man. He...he was all bloody and scabby, and horrible. He looked so injured. And then...and then he attacked us. Attacked me. Said he didn't want to die...we deserved to before him. And...and he was on top of me, clawing at my throat and..."

This time she actually did stop, slender hands reaching up to her throat, stroking the pale bruises gently, "...And then some horrible black tentacles. T-They came and dragged him away. And...And then there was a crack and...and..." she trailed off, unable to finish as she was suddenly hugging him tightly again, fighting a losing battle with her tears. Why was she so PATHETIC?

Cradling Kimmie gently while she cried, Cameron rocked them both softly back and forth making soothing noises. A man had just come into her room? That was so weird. The tentacles and the ravings he took in stride, but the thought of some creeply old guy just barging in...

"How did he get in?" Cam finally asked, though he tried hard to make his voice gentle and not too curious. "I mean, there are locks and stuff. This campus is supposed to be guarded or something." Wasn't it? Didn't all campuses have some sort of security measures? So what was the deal?

Kimmie was grateful for the reassuring noises, and the rocking. Despite the fact that this was Cameron, of all people, this was quite reassuring. She was calming down, and she suddenly pulled away from Cameron, furioously wiping away any remnants of her tears as her cheeks flushed pink. "I dunno...just through the door. He...he sounded like he was in pain, so we went to help...Then he attacked us."

She shrugged - she'd thought there were security measures, too. It was a school, after all. But apparently they weren't as good as they'd expected. Suddenly feeling awkward, Kimmie shuffled about, before making to stand, "I...Sorry. I'm just being stupid. You're probably...expecting someone."

Some girl.

Cameron gently grabbed both her arms, preventing her from standing up. "Hey, shh, it's okay." He turned her so they were facing each other. "You're not being stupid. It's okay to be scared. And I'm not expecting anyone, either. It's okay."

As if to prove his point, he leaned in and kissed Kimmie. It wasn't a hard or forceful kiss, more the gentle and questioning kind. He wasn't sure she would be interested, but the more opportunistic side of him couldn't resist trying his luck with a vulnerable damsel in distress. And besides, kissing was one of the few ways he knew to deal with a crying girl.

She was prevented from standing up, and whilst first instinct was to shove him away she didn't, instead sitting back down and looking shyly down at her hands, in a most un-Kimmie-like way. She needed to sleep - that was all. Sleep it off, and she'd be back to her old self tomorrow. She was sure it had just been a hallucination, or someone playing a prank. Cameron hushed her, reassuring her he wasn't expecting anyone. She made to look up and smile, and thank him...

And suddenly he was kissing her.

It wasn't particularly forceful, more gentle. Sure, she'd kissed Cameron before. She'd been drunk the first time, and the second she'd been teasing him. But this was slightly different. This time, despite the ease with which she could shove him away, she didn't. Instead, her arms moved up, curling around his neck as her eyelids fluttered shut.

This was nice. This was very, very nice. Cameron pulled her down onto his lap so that he could get a better angle. After what could have been hours, he finally pulled back just enough to speak. "Do you feel any better?" He asked, his voice teasing but gentle.

((OMG, sorry it's taken me so long to respond. I've been out with that h1n1 stuff.))

((It's fine! <333 Also, did you notice the SD? Kimmie and Cameron are in the Battle Royale one))

Kimmie wouldn't have particularly said it was nice. Comforting, reassuring, warm, yes. But she wasn't...enjoying it. To be fair, she hadn't been expecting to. She just needed someone to hug her, and tell her everything was alright. And Cameron happened to be there at that particularly moment. In the back of her mind, something screamed at her that she'd regret this in the morning. But she wasn't listening. Not closely enough, at least.

She shivered a little as he pulled away, despite the warmth, still holding him tightly around his neck. His voice was teasing and she managed a small, shy smile, followed by a small nod. "Yeah...a little."

((Just found it, lol. Someone was kind enough to PM me or I'd never have known. I feel kind of like an a** for making everyone wait so long. >.<; wink )

Her response was decidedly lackluster, which wasn't what Cam had been hoping for. But at least the tears had stopped for the moment. That was a good thing, right? Yes, that was definitely a good thing.

"That was wrong of me, wasn't it?" Cam asked her wryly. "Taking advantage like that." Of course, he still harbored a small hope that she'd throw herself on him, declaiming her undying lust and passion and then rip all of his clothes off. Unlikely as that seemed.

Wrong? ...Yes, yes it probably was. She wanted to scream and shout and beat him to a pulp, but at the same time she didn't. She didn't know what she wanted to do!

"I guess," she mumbled, glancing off to the side. "I should leave."
