A lot of things in life were complicated.
Especially now that she had a double-life; being a hero wasn't as glamorous as it seemed. She was tired and cold, cold because it sucked to be running around Destiny City in a short flippy skirt. Eve had never appreciated the warmth of long pants, the freedom of being normal, so much before. One might have thought being a student and having to cope with mounds of homework was enough, but when it compared to this whole senshi thing, it was much better. And although Sailor Nea had turned out to be a hoax, a scam organized by the Negaverse, Eve was still mad at her for seeding distrust in the civilians. Her own family still doubted the senshi. Her own family thought she was terrorizing the city. Not that they knew about the whole senshi thing of course, but it felt terrible, it was terrible when they told her it was no big deal.
Hands shoved into pockets, Eve strolled through the park, and every breath of fresh air seemed to lift her moods and make her feel much better. She didn't exactly feel like going to the mall today; she was too tired for a shopping spree. If Eve could, she would have screamed, "Being a senshi sucks!" But the fact was she couldn't, and she had to content herself with screaming it mentally.

Sleeping overnight in the park hadn't been on his list of things to do last night. Neither had alot of other things recently. Like falling in love.
So far, Elzo had been unable to escape thoughts of Linarite.
See a cute girl, think of Lina's laughter. See a girl flaunting her s**t? His mind went to Lina's innocent smile. Linarite, Linarite, Linarite. It was like she'd put some kind of negaverse curse on him. Hell, when he looked at PORN. PORN, his mind went to Linarite and what she might think of him if she knew. Thoughts of her were THAT inescapable.
Put bluntly, Elzo was in love.
And he was hating it.
He wanted to senshi up, hunt her down and run off with her. Get away from all this fighting, and just...make out? No, more then make out, hell just hang out. He just wanted to be near her. But nope. Elzo's dream girl not only was on the other side of the fence, Elzo was sure that telling her his 'normal' alias was a bad idea, love or not.
So, laying on the park bench after he'd snuck out after going back to Hillworth to bathe and eat, Elzo just lazed about, waiting for night to fall. Rolling to his side for more people watching he caught sight of a familiar face. "Oh hey, Eve right? Where's the shopping bags?" He smiled. Did she even remember him?

The blonde girl blinked at the familiar voice, then spun around, plastering a smile on her face to greet the boy. Eve disliked, and would even go so far as to say she hated, letting anyone see her when she was down, that is when she wasn't her normal peppy mood. It was just a simple pet peeve; only a few individuals were allowed to see her grumpy, and it was those close friends she wouldn't hesitate to run to. However? Those friends in particular wouldn't understand her new problems.
"Elzo! Oh, I wasn't in the mood for shopping today." She greeted him brightly, bouncing over and squatting down to look at him in the eye. "What are you doing here? Oh and also," She fumbled in her bag to find her cellphone, no, that was her henshin pen, ah there! "Gimme your brother's number. Are you guys even allowed to have cellphones in Hillworth, by the way?"

"Not in the mood for shopping? You sick or something?" Letting his legs fall off the bench, Elzo assumed to sitting position. It was a silent invite for her to join him where his head had been previously. "As from bro's numero, you got to tell me why. I mean, no offense, but I don't want to end up as some go between for you guy's secret love affair or something." He was clearly joking as he reached in his pocket and pulled out his beat up cell. Answering her question before grabbing her phone a plugging in a number.
"As for what I'm doing here...I'm moping because the one girl I wanted to ask to prom can't come with me due to our work, said bro hates my guts, and that girl I wanted to go to prom with and possibly date? Yeah, hear she might not only be with another guy, but the fact is, I still want to see her again... So I'm being all angsty and s**t, if you can't tell by my spilling the beans outta the blue and general moping all over a park bench."
Handing her back her phone, now with Marlo's number in it, he gave her a half-assed grin, as if all of his words were just another way of saying 'So, how's the weather?' "What about you?" Or something like that.

"It goes more along the lines of 'exhausted'." Eve replied, taking a seat on the bench beside him, though she didn't slump against the back of the bench, merely rested her back against it. She chuckled, shaking her head at his statement. "Oooooh, you've found our secret." She gave an all too dramatic sigh, placing a palm on her chest. "Whatever shall we do?" She had gone along with the light-hearted joking, but blue eyes soon snapped to him, looking quizzical, voice more serious than it was before. "You mean he didn't tell you?"
"They allow you to do work at Hillworth?" She asked, crossing her legs. So, Marlo and Elzo weren't talking? It figured why he hadn't yet told his brother about his prom date; she had thought they seemed rather close. Apparently, there had been a pretty bad sibling fight. She took her phone. "Thanks."
The blonde girl simply smiled back at him. "So, Charlie Brown, the doctor is now in. Spill, you lovesick t**t; maybe it'll make you feel better."

"Wait, time out, you two. Are dating? ARG. Man, just an F, Y, I, he's going to send you flowers and crap for like, ever. Seriously." Why didn't Marlo tell him he got a girl friend? That was like, a requirement for some bro bonding! Ugh, was Marlo that pissed with him? Jesus!
"I mean like...It's not paid work, per say, but more like...community stuff. I do it outside of school, if they knew, I'd be in a world of hurt." After all, Hillworth was the negaverse stomping grounds, as he had found out the hard way. Leaning over, Elzo began to fiddle with a rather dried leaf. "It's just...She works for kinda the other side. we're uh..." How could he put this, 'Oh she's negaverse, I'm senshi blah blah-' "I guess you could say company rivals. Our bosses find us together, our asses get handed to us." Especially Lina's. Elzo could only imagine what might happen if they ever found out about..'them'.
"But basically, we can't see each other, she may like another guy and not care about me but just..." He crunched the leaf in his hand, letting it crumble. "I want to see her again. I want to be near her. I want to sure she's happy, with me or not. Just..." Cue a heavy sigh. "I want to make sure that she can still smile and laugh. But Mainly I want to be with her." Now a shrug. "For whatever that means."

"Nah." Eve said casually. It wasn't in her to date anyone seriously; she dated casually every now and then, but she wasn't interested in taking things further. "I'm his prom date. And anyway, girls like flowers." She winked at him, as if telling him that it was a good habit he should pick up from his brother.
Community work. Outside school. For some reason, that reminded her a lot of her own predicament; the cause of her exhaustion these few weeks, but looking at Elzo, she dismissed the thought. If only she knew. "So you're telling me you two are like Romeo and Juliet." She murmured. "I never thought that something like that would happen in our era." Honestly, it was like those sappy love dramas on television that were nice to watch, only because every girl knew that would never happen to her, but wished it would anyway.
"Wow." She said, patting him comfortingly on the back. "It sounds like Cupid's arrow hit you pretty bad. Though I think you should ask yourself, do you love her enough to risk all the trouble you could get into? Just think about it; words can never express how you really feel. And then you ask yourself if she's showed any signs of loving you." The girl sighed, crossing her ankles. Love problems were hard; and that was why she refused to immerse herself in them. "I think the problem with love is that you know how much you love that person, but you don't know if they feel the same way. They can say they do, but you'll never know how they really feel, y'know?"

"....OHHH. To bad. You guys would have been kinda cool together. But he'll still send you flowers. Personally, I'd just send a card. Simple and cards don't run the risk of allergies." Elzo had clearly missed the hint.
"But, PFFT. It better NOT be like Romeo and Juilet. They die at the end. I'd rather like to live. Plus their whole dynamic was because they wanted to rebel. What me and.....this girl has is...different?" Wow, way to sound convincing. "I mean, I don't care about her job. I like her smile, her laugh. The cute blush she got when I gave her a flower." He sighed, eyes closed, smile on his lips, his mind thinking back. "She's smart. I mean, we didn't talk about complex stuff but, you could tell she had a brain and she used it. Also she was just ******** it Eve." Eye snapped opened. "I really think I love her. As irrational as it is, I really think I do. And frankly it's freaking me out."
Gingerly, at the mention of what he'd go through for her, Elzo's hand went to his chest. "That's the thing though. Even if she turned me away, even if she wanted me dead...I would do it. So long as it was for her. I guess I ********, I NEED to see her again." Sighing, he set his face in his hands.
"Sorry for unloading on you like this. You've probably got your own problems."

"Heh." Eve managed to reply, even though the mention of 'allergies' had immediately hit the chord of 'SAILOR FLORA, SENSHI OF SPRING' within her. "I wonder how many people in the city are allergic to pollen anyway." She mumbled, though it was more to herself than it was to Elzo.
"You make it sound like a case of 'falling in love at first sight'." She pursed her lips. Usually, she didn't think this sort of cases worked out well. How many people could live to say they married their first love? There were always heartbreaks along the way. "I always thought you needed to spend more time with your 'significant other' to determine your feelings. I mean, sometimes, for no reason at all, it just fades. The heart is such a fickle creature."
"Nah, it's okay. I always consider love problems to be the worst. And I don't have any." For Eve, she simply didn't want to trouble herself with any heartbreaks of her own. "Need a hug?"

"If it was just sight, I say I got a hard on, but no, this was after we talked. THEN I started to really...'feel the love', I guess." Way to make a case Elzo! After all, hormones were perfect indicators of love. "But, ugh. Love. It's like...hell I don't know what it's supposed to be like. I mean Eve." He turned to face, utterly serious. "I have ******** for fun. I have ******** just to ********. I have ******** because I thought I was in love. And this is the first time that I feel like I'm in love, but I don't want to ********>. You know how messed up that is? Like, how weird that is?"
At her question, Elzo turned his face down, avoiding letting her see his emotions while his head bobbed up and down. Deep breaths Elzo, deep breaths. "'Sorry...again. Shouldn't dump my s**t on you."

Eve, surprisingly, did not flush or bat an eyelid at the one too many '********' peppered in Elzo's rant. She simply stared back at him, sighing. "Oh god. You're down with a very serious case of lovesick." She couldn't tell him that, yes, she had been in that sort of situation before, to comfort him, because that would be lying. And she didn't feel like she should lie to him, because it looked so disastrously serious, from the way he was talking.
She scooted closer and placed a comforting arm around his shoulders. "It's okay, everyone needs someone to whine to." Then she sighed again. "Ever thought of what you're going to do next?" It was always better than constantly dwelling on how upset one was.

Rolling his shoulders, Elzo leaned on Eve for a while, just sighing. "I dunno. I'm just..waiting I guess, until I see her again." Placing a hand on Eve's Elzo was finally able to smile. "Thanks." Okay now it was HER turn! "But speaking of whining, you're not seeming like your normal bubble self. What's got you down?" He gave her a harsh look, "and don't start with the 'nothing is wrong' crap because really, I may be guy but even I know when a girl says she's not up to shopping, something is wrong."
Elzo had long connected a woman's ability to shop with her happiness. Because from his perspective, it usually was.

She beamed back at him; it always made her feel better when she could help someone, no matter how insignificant it may have been. "Pssh, Elzo, I'm fine." Her lips parted to let out a giggle. "Not every girl feels like shopping every single minute, you know. No matter how much they want to." Her gaze grew distant and she sighed, feeling like she should at least tell him something or he'd keep bugging her about it.
But it was terribly hard to explain. "School's just been exhausting...y'know?" She paused, wondering if the stress of school life getting to her was enough to satisfy his curiosity. "Alright, if you really want to know, I'm just kinda bothered that my uncle got into hospital. He was attacked by one of those monsters." She expelled a whoosh of her breath after she said this. Well. That probably sounded decent enough. It wasn't as if she could explain that she was really bothered by the whole 'her family not believing that the senshi were good' thing, without revealing her secret.

"...I'm a guy. Sorry, but when we hear a girl doesn't want to go shopping it usually means she's depressed or angry....Sometimes both. Possibly as us." He smiled now, as if his angst had never happened. "A yom-monster? Well, that's got to be the balls. He's not like, in a coma or anything is he?" Elzo almost said youma. Youma was the senshi term. Elzo shouldn't know senshi terms. He was only supposed to know 'normal terms'.
"As for school, eh, hate to say it but Hillworth is kinda just dragging by. Nothing seemed to have changed much...Just gotten a bit colder, one of the boilers is still under repair." Thanks to his first awakening. Kind of funny in a way. Evidence of his senshidom awakening still lingering like that. "If it helps, we can go shopping for get well flowers and teddy bears and all that other cliche stuff you buy for people in the hospital? And by we, I do mean WE. Like, I'd willingly subjugate myself to your shopping whims...Or I can give you a hug? Careful though, I may or may not try to grab your a**." Giving her a lopsided Xanis grin he patted her back. "But really Eve, if there is anything I can do let me know. Hell, let Marlo know. Lord knows he's going to shower you with stuff, dating or not." And now a Xanis style wink. "He's just that kind of guy."

She shot him a look when the word 'yom' slipped out of his mouth, and instinctively thought of the word connected to the monster. Youma. But how could he know? She had only started calling them that after Astraea had awoken her. Eve just shoved away that nagging feeling of suspicion for the moment. "Nah, he's awake already. Will be fine. Just needs a lot of rest." Her uncle still retained his sense of humor, so all was fine in Eve's book.
"I've done that already." She grinned. Shopping for get well gifts had been actually fun, and had taken her mind off her problems, even if it was momentary. And the look on the nurse's face when she brought in those balloons and stuffed animals had been totally worth it all. "But, can I keep that shopping buddy thing as a raincheck?" Of course, shopping buddy, when applied to those of the male gender, meant helping to carry shopping bags. The girl only smiled in return and leaned forward to wrap her arms around his torso. "Oh come on, hugs are totally the best way to cheer people up." A pause. "Are you trying to tell me that I'm lucky that he hasn't sent me anything yet?"
