Allie was taking a break from her latest project, the pieces of gears and wires strewn over the small table she'd taken over in the library. She was resting her hands by reading a little from one of her favorite books, Frankenstein.

Leaned back in her chair, she hoped no one would disturb her while she read a chapter or two. It was all very interesting, science to reanimate things. She'd hoped one day to try it out with a mouse or something...something that wouldn't be able to chase her over the world.

For now, Allie was content to read about Victor and his monster, while relaxing from her latest gadget. She'd hoped to show it to the Science Club later on.

Frankie was in the Library as well, but alas for Allie, she was currently on a very loud expedition in to the forbidden section of the Library, clawing her way up a series of cabinets she had stacked on top of one another, desperate for the blood red book at the top of a bookshelf 15 feet above her head. The Librarian was at the bottom of her tower, wringing her hands, and squacking up at her. Frankie ignored the woman, intent on her prize.

"BY THE POWER OF GREYSKULL," Frankie yelled, finally, on her tippy toes, no less, grabbing on to the blood red book. Vampyres, stated the worn cover, and Frankie caressed it gently. And, since she was there, she grabbed several others on the shelf. You never know when you'll need a book on how to make bombs. Besides, why have a forbidden section in a library, anyway? Kids were bound to be determined to get a hold of the books, even if it was only tame smut like Lady Chatterly's Lover.

Frankie didn't bother to climb down, and sat on top of the cabinet, opening the book with sweaty hands, and having the Librarian practically faint as she licked her finger to go to the next page ("its a priceless artifact, do something, do something!" the Librarian screamed to no one in particular).

"Woe betyde yee who opens this tome," Frankie yelled this to the Library at large. Frankie seemed intent on storytime.

Allie blinked and looked up from her own book. She glanced about, searching for the calamity afoot. She spotted the girl on the bookshelf with the librarian squawking below. Once glance at he project, and she got up to investigate the matter.

She made her way to the other side of the shelf, opposite the librarian, and looked up. "Something interesting up there...or just general chaos?"

The purple haired girl seemed interesting, or at least entertaining.

"Vampyre's," Frankie intoned happily, "being of flesh, rot and death, and hotnesss ken of only flesh, rot and death."

Frankie licked her finger SLOWLY and turned the page. The Librarian threw up her hands and went to search for the section on "How to Paint your Cat" where she had hidden a large bottle of scotch. Frankie scuttled down the cabinets, seeing her chance of escaping, and dropped a few of her ill gotten gains down to the girl who was waiting below, OBVIOUSLY waiting for Frankie to come down so they could skip merrily and talk about Edwards many many virtues.

"Not very interesting this time, no," Frankie said, answering the question that had not been addressed to her, "no, last time there was a short drop and a sudden stop. Poor girl. Liked Twilight. I will miss her terribly."

"Twilight?" Allie had caught the books tossed down to her. She held them out in waiting for the other girl. "Those are about the vampires that sparkle...right? I haven't had a chance to read them. I heard they're worth reading."

Allie had no idea the can of worms she was possibly opening. She liked vampires okay, and had read Dracula a few times. She just preferred science fiction to mystic fiction, is all. "I'm reading Frankenstein myself...for the fifth time. It's one of my favorites."

The dark skinned girl tried to ignore the comment about the girl, who'd obviously hung herself. Maybe it was a joke....

"Frankenstein was a p***y. So was his monster. "SOB SOB i shall go eat the people with flaming torches I only want to be loved SOB SOB." Bunch of baloney if you ask me." Frankie had never read Frankenstein which was a shame since that's what a lot of the student's called her behind her back. Well, wished they could call her behind her back, as they wished to keep their heads. Frankie was one of those people that seemed to be summoned just by mentioning her name. Like Beetlejuice.

Beetlejuice.

Beetlejuice.

"I know all the words of Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. I've read them more times than ANYONE else. You should read it really. It changed my life."

"I don't know...I really like the science in it. Resurrecting people from the dead," Allie mused, looking at the books the girl had tossed to her. "I liked it better than Dracula. Then, again...I am a science geek."

She looked at the other girl, tilting her head a little. "They're not like Bram Stoker's Dracula...are they? All 'look into my eyes...you're my bride...'? That was some what lame. And a bit unrealistic. I mean, science can't disprove vampires...but the whole hypnosis thing...it's bit bunk. I like a bit of realism to the people I read about. Is Twilight realistic?"

"I enjoy dissecting things in Science class," Frankie recalled fondly her pristine dissection of the frog called Bella, "its such great practice."

Frankie didn't bother to explain what sort of practice this was. This was Frankie. She wasn't practicing to be a doctor, that's for sure. Well, not one that works on live people.

"What sort of science resurrects the dead?" Frankie asked ponderously. Sounded more like "black magic" and less like "science" though Frankie believed more in Vampires than she did in vaccinations so it was really all part and parcel in Frankie's world.

"No no no, nothing like that," Frankie said, having read Bram Stoker's Dracula multiple times, only to laugh at how wrong he had gotten vampires. Appalling! "No, real vampires? Way way way cooler. And Twilight is TOTALLY realistic like, I totally believe in all of them? Except Bella she's not very cool. Her stupid vampire power shouldn't have translated when she was human that was like EPIC twinky. Such a bloody Mary Sue. I'm super glad that Stephanie Meyer wrote it? Because like, I get Edward. But at the same time? Also super creepy that its her own personal fantasy. Because SHE'S Bella. And one day. One ******** day. Stephanie Meyer is going to mysteriously dissappear. She'll write an entire screenplay called Frankie Cullen first, and you know she'll totally enjoy that."

Allie nodded at the dissecting practice comment, "True. It is good practice. To see how things work. At my last school, we dissected frogs, and I tried to make a clockwork one based on the inner workings. Didn't work out so well. Still, it did hop...so, there's that."

She looked at the other girl, tilting her head. "Well, I guess mad science. I mean that's generally what people call it. People that don't have imagination or can't think outside the box."

The dark skinned girl shrugged, not caring if this new girl agreed with the others. She'd been teased a lot at her last school for her wacky ideas. Wacky. "It's possible...I believe it is. With the right amount of electrical currents and other materials. Sometimes fiction is based on reality. I mean...people get brought back in hospitals all the time with a defibrillator. Granted only after a few seconds or minutes have passed. But in theory, you should be able to bring back someone after days...or months."

"Real vampires?" Allie was caught off guard from her own rant by Frankie's. "Realistic in the book? Hrmm...I might have to read it. Don't you hate when writers try to write themselves into their own books as characters that are the main love interests of the hero guys? It just takes the fun out of it."

She paused a moment, then looked at the purple haired girl. "I'm sorry...is Edward your boyfriend? I don't know many people at this school...I just transfered in."
