Missing something. The pride was missing something, and it was getting to her. Moto stood near the spring that was the source of their little river, staring at the moon she represented. What was missing? They had a sun and moon, the earth, the wind...What was missing? Moto sighed. Sometimes...being a founder made one's head hurt.

It had been a few days since the announcement of Kiuma's death. Mabaka had been doing her duties more efficiently than ever, patrolling the borders with Uhuru more frequently than usual and keeping an eye out for anyone fleeing from the Antianeira. It was finally nightfall, and the leopon was getting ready for one last round of the borders when she spotted Moto. She quickly glanced towards her brother before turning to head towards the lioness.

Uhuru blinked when he and his sister spotted their Mwezi, just standing there. Odd...usually Moto'nyota was helping the Amazon Caellegh heal, or teaching Kai, or just...being with her cubs. Curious, he followed his mate, calling out like the friendly creature he was. "Is everything alright, Mwezi?"

Moto started a bit, orange-amber eyes turning to meet blue and green. Oh! It was Uhuru and Mabaka. She smiled at them, nodding. "Ah..Yes, all is fine. Just...thinking. The pride seems to be missing something, and I'm trying to figure out what. It's...odd." The golden lioness sat and nodded at the pair. "Sorry if I worried you."

"Missing something, Lady Moto?" Mabaka questioned softly, humming to herself and taking a seat near the Mwezi. She couldn't help but ponder on the thought. The pride seemed complete to her, although if the founder felt something was missing... Surely there was a reason for it.

Uhuru tilted his head as he sat across from Moto. Missing? What could their pride be missing? "Mayhaps...we can help somehow, m'lady?" If something was missing...well, Uhuru certainly knew all sorts of stories. Perhaps something in one could help?

Moto nodded. "Yes. We have the Sun and Moon. We have Earth and Wind." What were they missing...It was Uhuru's coat, as he spoke, that helped something to click. Blinking, she looked at Mabaka's, then nodded. "I think you did just help." She chuckled. Red and blue...red and blue...Fire and Water! "I believe I just started to figure out what we are missing. Fire and Water."

"Fire and Water... That sounds about right," Mabaka said thoughtfully, her lips quirking as she turned her face towards the moon. "Raw passion and raw power... Combined with gentle power and an ever-changing nature... But who would fill such roles?"

Uhuru nodded. Yes...they didn't have the other two elements. But why was Moto realizing this now? It was strange. "And...what would they do? Who would they watch over?" It was an odd conundrum.

Moto thought a moment, eyes closed and head held high. Who and what...She smiled. "Fire, the Moto, would watch over the Shetani'msasi. And the Water, the Maji, would watch over the Mmoja mpaka Halisisha. And together, they would ensure the two groups worked together well, and that those Tarajali who wish to learn those paths are apprenticed properly..." Yes...that made sense. But...who would fill the positions? They had to be related...bound by blood and yet still opposite..."You two." She smiled. "You two, the shining examples of what it means to be Fire and Water."

Mabaka's eyes widened slightly at Moto's words. Was she offering such high positions to them? As loyal as they were to the pride, the leopon still found it both unusual and amazing that the Mwezi would trust them, who were neither founding members nor born members, with such high positions. But then again... They had dedicated themselves to this pride ever since their joining. As the shock ebbed away, Mabaka glanced towards her brother and mate, smiling slightly. "I'd be honored to take such a position, Lady Moto."

Uhuru was just as stunned as Mabaka. More because he wasn't exactly the leaderly sort. Sure...he could speak before a crowd. He LOVED telling stories and singing to as many as would listen...but...To lead? It was...and odd thought. Mabaka's smile snapped him out of his shock. The Mwezi knew what she was doing...she always did. "As would I, m'lady Mwezi."

Moto chuckled and nodded. "You two are dedicated, strong of heart, and loyal. I know you will do well. You will do very well." She would spread the word of their promotion once she got to the dens. And tell the word to every Shetani'msasi and Mmoja mpaka Halisisha she passed. "Mabaka'damu, as Mwezi and founder of this pride, I dub thee the Moto. And Uhuru, I dub thee the Maji. I know you won't let me down."

"I will serve both you and the pride to the best of my ability, Lady Moto," Mabaka said, her voice warm but serious. She would always serve this pride, both in life and when the time came for her to pass.

Uhuru nodded. "I too, will serve to the best of my ability." With Mabaka by his side, how could he do any less? Uhuru smiled at Mabaka, knowing that no matter what...they would always be beside each other, even as leaders.
