Szad shook his large, fluffy body vigerously. Making small drops of water fly off of him. it as raining. Rain did not bother him, in fact, he rather enjoyed it. But this rain was...weak. I was too strong to be a drizzle, but too weak to be true rain fall. "Its confused..." Szad murmerd to himself thoughfully.
He was walking though a thicker area of the forest. SO he was protected from most of the rain. But even so, he was gradually becoming wetter and wetter. He looked around for a bit of shelter. He was not quite in the mood for walking today. Today was more a more of watching kind of day.
So he decided to find a large tree, full of leaves and branches, under which he could lay himself, and listen to the symphony of the forest.
Hopefully he would not encounter anyone during that time....

Argent snorted irritably, clearing drops of water from her nose. Would nothing stop this infernal weather? It wasn't that she didn't like getting wet, but she certainly preferred it on her own terms. And a rain like this... was irritating. Either it should pour, or it shouldn't rain at all; best to just get the weather out of the way, in her opinion. She tried thinking positively about it; as her dear mother had always said, there was much to be said for the power of positive thinking. But all she could muster up was that she was positive she wanted the rain to stop. She had to chuckle at herself; thinking, of course, wouldn't change the weather. The best thing to do in this situation was just to find some manner of shelter, and find it quickly. The skinny pines of the forest were only compounding the matter; their boughs held water, and punctuated the regular rain with random spatters that seemed even colder than the skywater. But after a bit of fruitless searching, something caught her eye. There was a big broad tree, and there was somebody under it. Perfect. She could have some company while she waited out this atmospheric noise. Smiling to herself, Argent started to jog towards the tree. As she approached, she stopped for a moment to whinny a greeting. She didn't want to spook the stranger or seem hostile; all she wanted was to share that tree. It was big, broad, and, most importantly, conveniently located. Satisfied that she'd warned him, she continued her walk, observing the stallion as she came. He was large, much larger than she was, and she noticed that humans had been near him recently, recently enough to braid his mane and splash his flanks with paint. Though she was too far away to really get a good look at his face, his body wasn't saying he wanted her gone. Taking this as a cue to continue, Argent sidled up to the stallion under the tree. "Is there room enough under here for two?" she asked, attempting to look small and sweet. She didn't want to have to look for another tree!

Szad had began to watch the tiny droplets of water gather and fall from the branches of his tree while the mare looked for shelter. Soon, it became a game. He would have two or three droplets collecting at once, and he would chose one that he thought would fall first. He smiled to himself gently, enjoying his new game. He loved the rain. Even this strange kind of rain. He loved the feeling of the water, the smell of damp nature, the sound of it falling against the world, the crystal like appearance of a drop. And whenever there was rain, there would be a rainbow. Like a reward, or a sign that its over.
As Szad stood under his grand tree, in thought, the mare had found her way to him. He didn't not notice her until her whinny came. His ears were the first to react, turning quickly in her direction. His first instinct was to run in the opposite direction. But he willed himself not to. The stallion was obviously not hostile if they had let out a whinny of warning. So there he stood rigid for a moment, trying not to run. He forced his head to turn to look at his guest. And once his eyes looked at her, it felt like all breathe was beat out of him. He gasped for air. His eyes widened. And it felt like he couldn't move.
It was a mare. But not just any mare. She had a very similar color to his, her thick, long tail was lightly swaying in the wind. And he damp mane was gently spread on her face. She had a very gentle build, and she moved with such grace. Szad couldn't move. He couldn't speak. She seemed to moving in slow motion towards him. And once she was only a few feet away, the rain seemed to stop. Only the last few drops fell from the sky. And then, suddenly, A rainbow appeared. It was so vivid and beautiful. And it appeared right behind her, like she was the pot of gold at the end.
His heart pounded, and he was trying to gasp for breath. No sounds came from his mouth. And once he heard her question, he tried harder to say something. But couldn't. He shook his head gently, eyes still wide. And now the pink of his nose turning red. Her smile made him melt.

Argent cocked her head at the taciturn stallion. The silent type, maybe? There was nothing wrong with that, after all, but she did need to know whether or not she could remain here. However, something in the stallion's eyes seemed distant, so she turned around to see what he was looking at. And just her luck! The rain seemed to be ceasing, the only trickles of water the ones dripping from the leaves, and a rainbow had come out. The mare gave a small smile. "You must be lucky," she said, poking her nose from beneath the tree to see if it truly had stopped raining. "You stopped the rain and there's a rainbow. My grand dam always said that rainbows were a sign of good fortune to come, and she was generally quite the wise mare." She resisted the urge to shake the water from her coat, not wanting to splash the stranger. "My name's Argent, daughter of Oro; what's yours?" Was she being too inquisitive? Perhaps. But right now, she didn't care. The large stallion had a friendly face, and it would be good to have a friendly contact in this territory; after all, when a mare leaves a herd, she usually leaves for another herd. Not Argent, though. No, she was striking it out on her own, an independent lady in the world.
At least for now.

Szad's body became more and more stiff the closer the beautiful mare approached. His stomach fluttered uncontrollably. Why do i feel so...flustered? Did i eat something strange...what is...this? his scrambled brain began to wonder. He was also becoming slightly dizzy from the butterflies. The world began to sway and tilt gently. Oh dear. But her words suddenly straightened everything for him. And also added detail to the world Szad saw through his eyes. It was like magic. Her words, her movements, her smiles. They all magically made everything seem....better. He was not even worried about his troubles. In fact; what troubles? When she introduced herself, he tried to smile. But it just turned into a bright red shy smile. "H-hello...A-Argent da-daughter of-f-f O-oro..." What a long name...he was almost embarrassed to speak his own, short name. maybe he should also extend it? To formalize it? His brain was getting dizzy and flustered again. "I-i am Sz-Szad...s-son of-f-f....." He paused....he didn't know his father's name. He hadn't thought this through! He was beginning to panic again. "....of-f S-Szad's f-father...."
He looked down at the ground, hiding himself behind his thick mane. He felt miserable. She probably thought him to be a fool. His heart skipped at the thought of her not liking him. I gave him pain to think about it...he wanted her...to like him....

Szad. It had a nice ring to it. Zippy, yet strong. His parents had chosen well. The shake in his voice was evident; poor thing, he must be chilled to the bone! "It's nice to make your acquaintance, Szad. How long have you been standing under this tree?" she asked softly. She didn't want to upset him, but if he'd been out in the cold for too long, he might catch chillblains, and illness was never good for anybody. "We should get you out in the sun, now that it's coming out, or at least somewhere warmer." She hoped she didn't sound too bossy; after all, perhaps this stallion didn't want a mare telling him what to do. But if he wasn't thinking about it, perhaps a reminder would do no harm. As he looked down, his long mane- she noted with a touch of envy that it had lovely braids in it- hiding his bright blue eyes, she looked up to catch his gaze. As she was nowhere near as tall as him, she rather appreciated him lowering his head; it was easier to look him in the eye. She liked that; she liked being able to see a conversational partner's eyes. They were the windows to the soul, after all, and though one could have a lying tongue, lying eyes were much harder to come by. He seemed... nervous? Withdrawn? Perhaps he was already feeling poorly from the dratted rain.

Lowering his head in an attempt to hide had been unsuccessful. He seemed to always forget his own height. When he lowered his head, he was usually face to face with his companion. Argent gazed into his eyes. He froze again. The blush on his face turning a very hot red. Why was this happening to him? Why was his body acting so strangely? The butterflies began to fly around wildly. A cold sweat formed down his neck. He should have looked up...not down.
Argent's eyes, which were just as deep and stunning as she was, were sparkling with life and happiness. He could see them smiling up at him, they also seemed a bit in thought. What was she thinking about...What did she see in his eyes...Suddenly, he was afraid of himself. That she would see his fear and strange feeling through his eyes. he quickly shut them. Also afraid, that she had seen his past reflected in them.
"Y-yes...to to the s-sun..." The rain had fully stopped now, he began to step from under the tree, hoping that spacing himself away from the kind mare might calm his bizarre body. He so strongly wanted to know why he was feeling this...nervousness. Why he was so flustered, why did he feel that he must be on his best behavior and almost...impress this mare. He had absolutely no clue...He let out a sigh of relief as he emerged from his green shelter. The sun shone brightly above him, the day was still quite young. And the whole world sparkled from the water. Just like early morning dew. he filled his lungs with a deep breath. What an amazing smell. it was these moments that he truly felt grateful for his life. "Its s-so beautiful...." The rainbow was still in the sky, though partly faded now. He had not been cold, in fact the fast heartbeat the mare had created had heated him up. But his sheer bulk and size also kept him nice and warm all the time. But he didn't mind the mare's suggestion. He liked the sun too.

"Indeed; today really is a lovely day." Argent nodded as Szad spoke, turning her head to watch him. He seemed quite shy; he kept looking away. But it didn't seem like the kind of avoidance that spoke of irritation and annoyance; it seemed more a sort of defense. The little mare prided herself on her ability to read body language, and she wondered if he'd had a bad experience with a mare in the past. She knew how hurtful words could be from a sharp-tongued female, so she thought about what she could do to put his mind at ease. She was beginning to make up her mind to befriend the stallion; there was something intriguing about him, something noble and yet, at the same time, very sad. A small rumble from her stomach interrupted her thoughts, and her nose flushed; she hadn't realized how long it'd been since she'd last eaten. "Do you mind if I eat? I'm rather hungry, y'see." The grass looked quite good, all dewy and wet from the rain, and she watched him out of the corner of her eye as she bent her head slowly to the ground. She hoped that he might eat, too; a few mouthfuls of good grass might take the edge off of things for him.

To this mare it seemed Szad was an open book. He didn't notice her watching him, he was too mesmerized by the crystals of rain. They created their own little rainbows. Which seemed to aspire to be just like the one fading in the sky. Don't fade...please... For some reason, thinking about the raindbow fading from the sy and disapearing into the clouds and blue made his very sad...Fading, just like his meories which have faded away and left him incomplete. No! He told himself sternly, Don't think about that any more! Time to make a new future for myself, even if i had memories from my past, they would fade naturally. Don't dwell. Move on. its what he had been telling himself every time he caught himself staring off and thinking about the past. Ever since he had met that interesting stallion, he felt as though he finally was able to put his history behind him...but...was it real? Or was he...humoring himself? There is no doubt i have! Im mov- The mare's stomach growled and snapped him back into their shared plane of reality. He blushed again when their eyes met. What was this strange feeling....? Wait, hungry. She was hungry. "y-yes...ofcourse..." Soon enough she was already bent over and eating pleasantly. He himself was not starved, he had eaten before the strange rains. He had eaten some...
"Wait! C-come with me!" he smiled pleasantly at her, forgetting the strange butterflies he now carried. He would take her to the patch of sweet grass on which he had grazed on. it was not far, only a moments fast trot. And it had been delicious, he wanted to share it with her. Now that it had rained, the stalks would be plump. There were also some golden mushrooms growing on a log he had tasted after some inspection. And they had been very nice and chewy! "Come come Argent!"

Argent lifted her head from the damp grass and swallowed the bite in her mouth before speaking, knowing full well that the impoliteness of talking with your mouth full was no way to make a friend. “Where are we going?” she asked with an eager toss of her head, flicking her forelock away from her eyes. Something had been sparked in the stallion; something had excited him, and this, in her mind, was a very good thing. After all, it meant he must be warming up to her. The wheels in her head began turning- this stallion was kind, looked powerful, and knew the lay of the land. And he was quiet; not the domineering type at all. She, however, was a slightly-built lone mare. And this land was nice- much like its gentle giant of an inhabitant. Perhaps once they got to know each other a little better, he would consent to sharing it with her, or at least part of it. It would offer similar protection as living in a herd had, but without all the ridiculous politics behind every single other herd member’s motives. No worries about advancement or decorum, but the companionship. Mentally, the mare started to turn on the charm. She’d made up her mind; she had to make this stallion into a friend somehow.

Szad smiled brightly at her, seeing her interest in his proposal. He had unconsciously began to emerge from his shell, forgetting the strange, tickling feelings he had been feeling around her. He began to gently trot in the direction of the hidden banquet. They trotted side by side for only a moment until Szad stopped, "Here we are! I found this sweet grass earlier today, i wanted to share it with you!" he chimed with joy. Not even a stutter, and he did not even notice how much he had changed right in front of her. How much he had opened himself to her.
His stomach growled and he bent down to take the first mouthful. From the corner of his eye, he secretly watched her. Her grace and beauty enveloped him in curiosity.

"Aww, that's so sweet!" Argent giggled at her pun before lowering her head to sample the plants. She continued to watch him out of the corner of her eye as she delicately cropped the juicy blades, chewing quietly as she'd been taught. Manners when eating... yet another thing her parents had been so very strict on. And yet, she found herself being neat even now that she was out of their grasp. She was fairly sure that she'd made a good impression on the stallion; now she needed to make sure she didn't turn him away. She was coming to find herself enchanted by the idea of him; a strong, stoic male who'd be wonderful protection should danger cross their path. So much for being independent. But you know you like social interactions, and he's nice. He'll be a good friend. She swallowed her bite and raised her head. "This is amazing grass here, Szad. Thank you for sharing it with me."

"Ofcourse," he replied with a quite smile as he raised his head back up and swallowed his last mouth full. "I h-hope it grows back every year. It-it would be a shame for u-us not t-to be able to share this m-meal again."
His gentle mind began imagining that this one meal might become a tradition for them. Their coming back every so often to meet and share stories along with their mouthfuls of grass. Good friends in the later years. Suddenly a different idea popped into his mind and he blushed. It was very vague and only a single word really, but it still caused something in him to heat. Together.
He turned and looked down at the grass with his clear eyes and tried to clear away his blush.
"W-wh-what do y-you want t-t-to do n-now?"
