(I will warn you now, terrible rainbow star eyedeath and non-dialup-friendly possible pagestretchery lie below)

Though he had been full to the brim with apprehension about moving to Destiny City and transferring to a new school with new people, Pasha was absolutely thrilled with the whole thing by now. He had already made two fantastic new friends, one of whom was his new best friend forever. All of his worries about not meeting new people and feeling like an outcast in this new big city were far gone. Everything kept getting better and better, and his glass of optimism was so perpetually full that he never once considered it might all come crashing down. There was a reason that life was metaphorically likened to things like roller coasters and pendulums, and cheery fifteen-year-olds were certainly not immune.

There was no time to worry anyway; he was on a mission. Since eighth grade, it had been a weekly ritual for him to write a myspace blog about the happenings and feelings and all sorts of things in his life over the span of seven days - he'd been so busy making new friends and discovering all sorts of exciting shops and restaurants here that he'd forgotten to even check his account. This entry would just have to be especially good, he decided.

He logged on to find no new messages, which seemed a little odd. He and his best friend from his old town usually spoke every day, but they stopped abruptly around the same time Pasha had ceased his relentless once-every-hour status updates. Unsurprisingly, this was approximately when the overzealous boy discovered Twitter and began conversing in just under 140 characters with all of his new friends and acquaintances. Instead of worrying, he resolved to send a message later, which should fix everything. He would even add a cute lolcat picture, so it would definitely fix everything. After all, he still needed his first best friend, despite meeting Audrey. Best friendships didn't just die.

A quick click on "My Blog" brought up a blinding smattering of rainbow stars with a background of bright blue starbursts: nothing that anyone in their right mind would ever subject people to. Except, of course, for Pasha, who thought it was positively gorgeous and full of happy.

After hitting "play" on his shiny blue iPod nano, he got to work.

He stared at the blinking cursor at the end of his last sentence, chewing his lip in thought. All of that incoherent babble, and he wasn't sure how to wrap all of it up. Shrugging, he added what he was listening to and changed his Current Mood to happy, then submitted the post, deciding just to call it good.

His long series of events seemed so tiny when he stared at the white text against the rainbow star background, but it felt so significant in his heart. He wasn't sure that his excellent friendship with Audrey and his bond with Tallulah really could be summed up in so many words, but he supposed it was better than nothing. The world had to know how fantastic his new life was, and if it came in the form of a poorly-written blog post on a terrible networking site, so be it.

Smiling widely, he picked up his phone to place a very important before-bed call to Audrey, fending off his mass of adorable cell phone charms just long enough to punch in her speed dial number. Even though she was off at the fancy new school, she was going to need to know about everything he'd done, and how lonely it was here without their frequent outings and sleepovers. He flopped backward onto his kitten-and-puppy comforter, gave his real kitty a quick pat on the head, and listened to the ringing as he waited for the familiar voice.
