Okay, so I've been recruited as the event planner. I've been toggling some ideas but I thought I would ask for your opinions as well. I thought we could start off with a contest once we reach a certain number of members. What sounds enticing to you? What would be a good prize? Should monetary donations be required to participate or should it be a free-for-all?

for an idea for a contest, id like to see a tektek contest for a dedicated B.O.O. avi. as for the prize, most contests i see have gold prizes for the top 3: 10,000 for first place; 8,000 for second; and 5,000 for 3rd might be good, with a consolation prize of 1,000 for 4th place

Well, I know Fire Rose was saying that she'll miss making her Christmas Avi this year if Gaia doesn't get their collective butt's together and give us what we want (so nobody gets hurt >>).
So, how about a Holiday Avatar contest? Everyone could tektek and avatar and then the members vote on who they like best. True, we can't give items as prizes, really (unless people have mule accounts they could go to), but items really aren't the only prizes. Gold, as was said before, or maybe things like avatar art. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm something of an artist, and wouldn't mind making prizes for contests. Like, first prize can be fully body, second prize, half body, third, bust shot and maybe a chibi for runners up?
There could even be categories. One for only using items you have, and another for just free reign on tektek.
It's just a suggestion. I'll try to come up with more.

Drake Mavil Walker is right about the items thing, we can't change our avatars so maybe all awards should be gold.
We could maybe do a raffle, each ticket being 1k or whatever ammount of gold seems right.
I think though that any contest we do people will have to pay gold to enter and that could be given out as the prize each time. Or if there are any artists out there we could do Avi Art.

 ✗女将______ The idea of going to tek tek currently depresses me. XD I'll probably be avoiding that site for a while, or I'll be tempted to run off and adjust my avi. Which utterly sucks... Christmas is my favorite holiday. But... I think art's a good idea. : 3 Something to put in one's siggy or decorate their post. Or something. Even gold's a good idea... sure, ya can't buy items to put on but you could always buy.... art? Neh, all I can think of is art at the moment oAo ;;;;; But... I draw.. stuff... so I could always try to help when it comes down to it, in the name of this luverly guild of claminess. : O Last Year. <3

You know, while we can't change our avatars, we CAN change our houses (and even cars if you're desperate)
So gold prizes is the answer. Spend gold on furniture, huzzah. razz
As for the contest itself... why not something that honors the Overseer? Art contest to draw the overseer, etc?

I'm backing the Gold Prizes suggestion.
People can't work on Avatars but they can work on Fish, Collections, Cars, Houses,.. etc.

It's kind of stupid, but I sort of had another idea for an event.
Well, the purpose of this guild is to support all of us who hold true to BOO and keep our skins, right?
Then, I think we should celebrate anniversaries. I think, if worked out well, they could make for fun events.
Different anniversaries can be spaced out over time. Like, the first could be at the end of November, for like, I don't know, a "Yay! You've made it to the end of the month without changing your avatar! It'll only get easier from here." Then maybe a six month anniversary, then, the grand one year anniversary, next November Sixth (I'm using the Sixth because people joined the guild on different days, but we all chose to keep with our skins starting on the sixth).
As time gets longer, the prizes and giveaways could get better. Like, small amounts of gold, or art or house furniture at first, then larger amounts of gold, more art, etc. The first end of November anniversary could just be a grand discussion about how we're all doing and all that, show off any/all tektek's we've made to fill the void and whatnot.

Maybe even House contests or Rally races (I never go to the Rally, but they have races, right?)
We just have to get creative.

there can totally be an item prize! it could be avi art or something with the aquariums. it doesn't have to be limited to money.
i think we should have a raffle. it could be like 100 gold per ticket and winner gets a prize/gold/reward.
or we could have an avatar contest, how has the best ________ out with what we already have. it could be boo, aquatic, angel, soldier... themed avi.
