It made his blood boil just thinking of how close he'd become to starting his plan, putting it in motion. How easy it would have been to take what he believed rightfully his, that was, his father's pack. How sickened he was to have gone away for some time only to return and find the lands abandoned, his careful months of planning scattered like dust in the wind. He snarled and snapped at the chilly air surrounding his body, hackles raised as his lip curled. Well, he would just have to find something else to take over.
But to do that he needed followers... but it would not be easy to convince those who were sane to follow someone as 'unsane' as he was. He snorted air out his snout, anger giving way to sick amusement as he thought about how easy it had been to grow up with his family believing him to have mental problems.
His ears perked and he could feel his heart rate increasing just at the smell of prey lurking somewhere ahead. His angry, rushed gait slipped into something closer to a prowl, his eyes narrowing as he slipped through the shadows. Hunting was fun, especially when he didn't have to worry about keeping appearances up, when he could tare his prey limb from limb and let his fur soak in the warm blood.
Oh, this would be delicious.

Hydra was too busy snapping her teeth on a venison bone to care to use her nose or eyes. She had lived a hard life, but she had lived, that was the point wasn't it? Eat or be eaten and no one was eating her, no one. Her teeth snapped the bon e and she snarled over it before pausing and scratching fiercely at her neck, all along her thick scruff the line spines of her pup-hood home had embedded themselves, her fur matting around them and holding them. Every once in a while she would loose one, only to gain another when she returned to her prickly abode. Living among sharp spines had been the only choice for an otherwise defenseless pup, but now she was old enough to protect herself weather inside her dangerous den or roaming the lands.
She scratched a moment longer before giving up with a growl, those spikes were never all coming out and that was probably for the best, yet another defense she could use. Her ears perked for a moment before falling back into their usual unfriendly position and her hackles raised. A snarl slowly escaped her maw as her lips rose. There was something alive nearby, the question was should it remain alive?

But as he continued forward his senses started to actually respond to what he was taking in; not the fresh scent of some stray deer, but rather an older scent of an already killed deer. He growled deep in his throat and finally came to a halt, the realization souring his mood further. His tail flicked as he tested the air with his nostrils again, realizing there was a scent of wolf mixed with the metallic scent of blood, and the woody scent of deer. His ears pinned back a moment and his mismatched eyes darted around the trees.
It was never good to be unaware of what was going on, he mentally cursed himself. He moved forward almost cautiously, wondering if he felt up to the effort of maintaining a submissive persona today. Not really.
As he slipped past a third large pine and looked to the left a dark purple wolfess came into sight, her fur sticking up at odd angles around her neck, making her look larger and he supposed more fearsome. Futatsu believed he was afraid of no other wolf, though often times it was part of his mask to fake it. He was extremely foolish in disregarding others', of piling them all onto the 'no threat' pile. Still, she had a vile look on her face and it was apparent why. His mismatched eyes had narrowed upon a few bones; some broken, some whole. Not to mention the blood and the mess... he felt jealousy over this creature, not fear. That was supposed to be his meal! He was the one that was supposed to be enjoying ripping something apart!
"Tcht... killjoy." He breathed out the words, loud enough for the other to hear and stood his ground. Every once in a while it was good to cause a bit of mayhem, and he'd been playing docile way too long now.

The growl escaped her without even a thought, she seemed to lack self control when it came to aggression. Stupid perhaps, but it wasn't something she could help, she stood quickly and narrowed her eyes on the stranger. Killjoy, indeed she was.
"This meal is mine!" She snarled out at him, not that she was still very hungry, and not that there wasn't much left of the meal that she hadn't shredded or licked into. Still it was the principle of the thing, scavengers could scavange AFTER she had left the area, not while she was having her meal.

An odd, raspy sounding chuckle slipped past his maw at her words, his body sinking slightly lower as he took a few steps toward her, perhaps trying to provoke the other. "I'm not stupid, or trying to get your kill you ignorant, lousy female." He sneered the words with a tangle of amusement and joy, because this was when he was truly happiest. When he could be himself, when he didn't have to hide who he was and he could be as cruel as he pleased. Of course, the downside was if anyone ever brought the nonsense he pulled up in the future, because he would always have to deny it in a shocked and horrified manner. I did that? I can't remember... oh dear.. a b-b-blackout? Was the most common of responses.
He gazed on with disgust as he started to make a slow circle around her. "And even if I lacked intelligence this would not be a meal worth scavenging. There's hardly anything left... I pity the fool who gave birth to you." He was implying that she was the stupid one. He wondered just how short of a time it would take to make her snap; she looked tough, he wondered if she could fight well.
"I had mistakenly thought you were prey, that is all. Of course, you're not even worth my time... at least prey can gain that much from me." His tail flicked, ears were slightly back and through his little speech his teeth were slightly bared. He wanted her to attack, it seemed.

Her ears pinned down even tighter against her skull as she followed the males movements with feral golden eyes. Her hackles raised higher and she could feel the thick fur around her neck puff with the movements. How dare he, this insolent male!
"Your the stupid one to think me prey, now begone scavenger!" She growled again and crouched to slowly advance on him. She would chase this dumb beat off and then go find a cool drink. No doubt the pathetic male would run off once he realized she wasn't just posturing.
