It was Espen's lucky day, he had recently found a ten dollar bill while out in the city with his dad and the first thing that he decided to buy was a medium pizza all for himself. The pizzeria that Espen went to, Shane had been with him on regular occasions. Because they were regulars, and was on decent terms with the owner who was a very friendly and stout dwarf who spoke with what Shane could only decern to be some mix of a Scottish and Italian accent, Shane felt comfortable leaving Espen there by himself for a while as he finished up the later half of his errands.
Espen loaded up his pizza with all of the tastiest and unhealthy toppings imaginable: bacon, sausage, beef, peperoni, and of course extra cheese and some salsa-like dipping sauce; it was the only way he could eat his crusts. He wondered how long it would take him to eat the entire thing, but he was excited. It was his pizza and he was absolutely going to finish it all by himself. His mouth was watering as he beamed and began to chow down his first slice.

"Cody! Will you stop it?! We're getting pizza, not taking you to get a haircut or something," Shadai muttered, rolling her eyes at how stubborn Cody had become over the past few days. Not to mention fairly unpredictable in his moods. He could be calm and quiet one moment and the next have all your possessions and arguing that they were his and his alone.
Cody just scowled and shoved his hands into the pockets on his pants as Shadai opened the door. "Dunno why we're gettin' pizza here... Coulda stayed home..." he grumbled, then noticed a familiar face off in the corner. Those wings, he recognized them but to whom did they belong to? "Wait, Espen?" the child gasped, abandoning his mother's side to wander over to his friend. "Espen? That you?"

A small, child size, kindness/sloth spawn walked down the street happily with a slender man by his side, swinging their arms back and forth.
He was giggling like mad, overly excited that they were going to get some pizza from his dad's favorite place. His soft voice was singing a song he just learned from his father's old albums from HIS parents.
"Lovin' you is easy 'cause you're bweautiful
Bakin' love wid you is all i wanna do
Lovin' you is more den jus a dweam come twue
And everything da i do is out of lovin' you
La la la la la la la... do do do do de do"
Edes sang, giggling as he watched his father shake his head. It was cute. Very VERY cute to see a little girly boy skipping down the street, singing his heart out to something he didn't understand.
He was about to sing another verse, that he was more than likely to mess up, when they arrived. He rushed into the store, leaving his father's side, and crashed. Right into Shadai, and tumbled to the floor.
"Owie..." Rubbing his head, he looked up, then quickly stood up. "Mizz Shadai!!" Small arms hugged her around the waist, nuzzling her stomach. "How are you!! Look Look look! I got bigger!"
Noel, his father, entered the store, smiling at Shadai once he realized it was her. Hello, it's been a while, hasn't it?

Espen was already in the midst of wolfing down his second slice when Cody came into the parlour. He was pleased to see that his friend was well and had grown, though...
Instantly Espen's eyes darted at Cody's wings, that were seemingly taunting him with their size. He suddenly was aware of his own tiny wings and thought that perhaps it may be wise in future to simply hide them then to show off their inferiority. This whole observation would've made Espen feel tense, but since Cody was a friend Espen felt he could relax a little so long as Cody didn't bring them up.
"Wow Cody! I can't believe it's you! Guess what? I found money on the sidewalk today and this whoooole pizza is mine now, hahaha!" Espen bragged, wanting to make Cody Jelous of his luck. Then he paused with a sauce-stained grin as he eyed the crust of his slice. Espen gave it a good think, and figured that since Cody was here now, he guessed that there was nothing wrong with sharking a pizza with a friend.
"Buuut I can share a bit of it if you realllly want some kay?" he invited, motioning to a seat on his right. "Dad'll be back soon, he just doesn't like to sit still in the city's what he says."

Cody grinned widely at the sight of his friend and the huge pizza in front of him. "Nice one, I'm jealous," he replied, laughing softly at how excited Espen was about finding the money and getting an entire pizza to himself. "Hm? Nah, it' yours. You can eat it," he added, unwilling to allow his friend to share his pizza. It was obvious that he wanted to eat the entire thing himself anyways.
Shadai blinked and looked down as something collided with her legs and proceeded to latch onto her waist. "Edes! My, look how much you've grown," she giggled, ruffling the child's soft curls. It was hard not to find him adorable, especially when he acted so cute. "And hello to you too, Noel. It has been a while since we last met. Cody is over there, I believe," Shadai continued, nodding over to the table where both Cody and Espen sat, talking away and completely ignorant to what was going on not too far away.

Edes nodded, hugging Shadai once more, then darting over to Cody. He stopped half way there. Cody was with someone else at the moment, and he smiled at that. It was the first time he had seen his best friend with another, and he seemed to be happy!
That didn't mean he didn't want to be included in the group! He'd just wait to be acknowledged.
He toddled over to Cody's side and stood beside him until he was noticed.

Espen giggled with a goofy proud smile on his face, happy that he had made Cody a little jealous, though he did actually want to share a piece with his friend. This bit of acknowledgment made Espen forget about Cody's wing size a little bit as he dived into another slice.
"Okay, but lemme know if ya change your mind. It tastes reaaaallly good!"
After juggling the hot object for a bit before wolfing it down (his recent growth spurt had increased his appetite), Espen looked up and noticed another person hanging around behind Cody. Whoever they were, they were clearly a "spawn", but wondered why they were hanging around Cody so closely...and if they were a boy or a girl. They were hanging a little too far back for Espen's liking, and wondered what this person had to hide as to not be so forward. Quiet people couldn't be trusted, he thought.
Whoever this was, they sure were strange. Espen shot the figure a sharp look of both curiosity and scorn for standing too close to his friend and his dinner, he slid the pizza box a little closer to himself in case this person was getting any ideas of freeloading off of his invitation to Cody. Espen made a jerking motioned with his head to Cody to let him know that there was a strange person standing next to him, in case he wasn't aware of it, and got ready to kick this person out if they were bothering his best friend.

Cody just smiled, watching Epsen wolf down another piece. He had certainly missed his friend, that was for sure. At Espen's nodding, the spawn frowned and turned, instantly spotting Edes and why he hadn't noticed him before. A massive grin spread across his face, revealing his utmost happiness.
"Edes! You here too?" he gasped, sounding far too happy than the norm nowadays. Suddenly remembering the two probably had no idea who the other was, a slight pink blush rose to Cody's cheeks.
"Ah, right. Espen, this is Edes. Edes, this is Espen," he added, looking a little embarrassed he had forgotten to introduce the other. "It ok if Edes join us? Is your pizza," he continued, looking at Espen for permission. It wasn't hard to tell the spawn was hoping with all he had for the spawn to say yes. Both children were one of his best friends, and he still couldn't help but have a slight soft spot for the curly haired spawn. And he STILL had no idea why...
