So I've been given the task of creating the rules for the guild. Though I wanted some user feedback, to know what exactly everyone thinks would be fair rules.
We've got the usual rules, no flaming; follow all regular Gaia rules and what not. What do you guys want to see on other situations though? Like inactivity, should we ban inactive members, if so how long do they have before being banned? I know there's a few SIN followers who think that we should have our original skins back, should they be allowed to join, or should member be only BOO followers?
Let me know what you guys think is fair and what you don't. I'll let this thread run for a few days and then make a rough draft of the rules.

Well, in regard to letting SIN members join.. do we even allow BOO members not wearing the skin to join this guild? I'm not positive, but I was under the impression that we didn't. If that's the case then it would seem a little unpatriotic to allow SIN members to join and not some of our own comrades. If that's not the case, though, then.. ..I still think it should be BOO only xD That's just my opinion, though.

I think it should be BOO members who still have their original skins equipped only.
Having Gaia's ToS as the root rules is a fantastic idea. It'll cover alot of basic rules. As for inactive members, I'm the type of person who will disappear for several days. With finals coming up and everything, i may not even both with gaia entirely for a couples days at times while i work on final projects and such. So i'd say...inactivity for a few months should be grounds to be banned. At least that's how i feel. I'm a member of several other guilds that i haven't posted in for over a year and they don't even both with banning inactive members so i don't think it's that big of a deal.

BOO-Skins only... I think I'll have to go on a banning spree soon, so many have already given up and changed their avatars. crying I'll have to ask the captain first regarding this, but as I see it, it'll have to happen.
Regarding inactivity, I say the same as Ash did. Inactivity for more than, let's say, 40 days is ground enough for a ban. (unless the person somehow alerts us of his/her absence, gives an approx return-date, etc).

i don't think that people should be kicked out for being inactive. i don't spend much time in forums, nor guilds. i've just been freakishly talkative the past couple of days. the whole idea behind this guild is to offer support of those who decided to keep their skin, and i think that the rules should reflect that spirit.

I sort of think that drastic and excessive inactivity (without good reason) should be punished. I mean, what's the point of being in the guild at all if you're never going to contribute anything? If the guild is about offering support, it ought to be a two-way street. That and.. it can't be too supportive if you're never even around to read the forums anyway.. Idk. That's my two bits on that subject.

neutral Can't say I'm a big fan of the 'banned for inactivity' idea.
I tend to go on Gaia sometimes and never get passed signing in. I'll have stuff to do (collect my daily stuff, post in RPs) but I just won't feel motivated. Because I'm part of this Guild's crew, I'll try to remain as active as possible, but I can understand where inactive members would be coming from. I've joined guilds and have never gone back after being accepted.
After all, I think as long as we keep our skins, we should stay together as a community. Banning members for inactivity prevents them from ever coming back, even when they feel like checking back in and seeing how their fellow devout BOO followers are doing. Life gets in the way, sometimes for a long time. And you never know when it will attack, so you can't always give advanced warning. I just think banning for anything other than un-equipping your skin or breaking TOS is a little harsh, is all.
We're supposed to be Benevolent, aren't we?
Just putting my two cents in on the banning-for-inactivity discussion. As for other rules, I'll put my input in later, if I think of things no one else has.

Complete inactivity + lack of skin = banning Banned two people for this, but I don't think I'll go on to ban the remaining four-five other inactive non-skins before the Captain responds...

We really need to get this established as to whether or not we're allowing non-skins.
This is an important issue. It needs to be posted in the guild home whether or not so people will know before they decide if they want to join or not.

Banning for Inactivity is a good way to kill a guild fast, especially in this situation.
If this is original Skin Only,.. then everyone is going to need breaks to pout when they can't equip something they'd really love to.

Has the captain even been around? It's kinda hard to get this stuff established with out her consent. I'm not sure what exactly she has in mind for this place, plus i don't think as a mod we can change the guild homepage.

That's a good idea. Would a VC be able to do all the same things as a normal Captian?

I've never been one so I couldn't say for sure, but I think yes.
