A week had gone by since the incident in the art room, and Euphemia had had enough. She was tired of waiting. Now was the time to talk to Arlet.

The potter had barely seen her friend over the past few days. Then again, she was being careful to avoid her whenever she was with Lucas. The last thing that she wanted was for her to be even more upset. Arlet was mad enough as it was, so there was no use in rocking the boat even more. If just the mention of Lucas sent her over the edge, God knows what the girl would do if she saw the two of them together. It would get ugly. Really ugly, and Effie knew that. So, to save both of them the inconvenience of staying mad at each other any longer, Euphemia was on a mission. A mission, precisely, to smooth over things with her friend once more.

Classes had ended by the time Effie began to make her way over to Arlet's room, which was evident by the clothes the girl wore. Instead of being dressed in the typical Barren Pines uniform, Euphemia had decided to go in something a little more casual: a purple wool sweater dress. It was a form-fitting dress, seeming to hug all the right places in order to accentuate the girl's curves even more. The dress was also weather appropriate with a turtleneck that was perfect for the crisp fall weather. The shoes Effie wore weren't anything out of the ordinary for her, just shiny black pumps. Her usual accessories and makeup style hadn't changed, either, staying in the typical fashion that the girl was noted for. This particular outfit in general had taken Euphemia a good half an hour to find after she decided indefinitely to go and pay her friend a visit. Hopefully, it looked alright, for if not then all of that work had been for nothing.

A good three to four minutes after leaving her room, Effie was now standing at Arlet's door. Alright - this was it. There was no turning back now. Euphemia hesitated for a moment after arriving in order to give herself a moment two fix her hair. Everything had to be perfect? Why? Well, because that's just how she was. Now satisfied with her look, the Greek teenager raised a hand up, knocked on the door, and held her breath. Here we go: it was the moment of truth. All that was left to do now was wait.

A week had gone by since that miserable morning that consisted of broken vases, a bandaged arm, and a rare argument between the two best friends.

Though Arlet felt miserable about yelling at the most innocent Euphemia, she knew she couldn't take her words back. There was no way she'd be the one to do the apologizing. But one of the two had to take the first step sooner or later, or their years of bonding would go to waste. However, even after a weeks' time, the pure hatred for that womanizer nor the disappointment in Euphemia were not gone.

For the past seven days or so, it was a fact that Arlet barely got any sleep. Though she wasn't the best of students, and didn't take the time out to study, she tried her best when class was in session. That, however, didn't apply in the current situation. Her dreams, no, nightmares consisted of the treacherously lewd actions that pink-eyed b*****d would do to her dear Euphemia. Her actions had caught up with her, and as soon as she swiftly ran to her room, Arlet cuddled up under the comfort and reassuring warmth of her blankets. But not before changing into an uncharacteristically feminine costume.

Yes, since a child, Arlet Jahar was known as a boisterous tom-boy with a hot temper. However, a girl was a girl, and though kept a secret to most, she did have those rare feminine moments. Especially in situations when she was depressed; such as the episode with Euphemia. One of the things Arlet did at such down moods, was shopping. Her wardrobe did not show a speck of pink or frills. On further inspection though, near the lingerie and sleep department, was where her interest lay. That particular weekend, Arlet had went out and bought a mint-colored corset, of the softest satin, surrounded by an intricate cob-web of black lace. It simply made her blissful, and that was the point, was it not?

So there lay a peaceful Arlet Jahar, for the first time in days having a peaceful sleep, not clouded by unreal reveries or horrifying nightmares. Until a knock was heard on the door. What the hell? Though her eyes were still shut, her golden eyebrows were furrowed angrily, and her mouth doing some equivalent pouting. Angrily, she threw the blankets off of her, not bothering to even remember her current attire. Arlet stormed over to the door, and menacingly turned the knob. Before looking to see who the guest was, she rushed her complaint, "What do you wan--" It was Euphemia herself.

Effie couldn't help but quirk an eyebrow the second Arlet had opened the door. The last thing she expected to see her in was frilly lingerie. Instinctively, the potter checked the watch that she wore on her right wrist. It was 4:30 in the afternoon; way too early for the belly-dancer to be wearing such things. Then again...Arlet was a belly-dancer. She was used to wearing things like this all of the time. Still - Effie would be lying if she said that it hadn't caught her off guard. Heck, she half expected her friend to still be in her school uniform, but this? This was too much.

Already, she could already feel a blush flushing across her face. Euphemia ignored it, and refrained from casting her eyes further down by looking directly into Arlet's with her own. Focus! Don't let her wardrobe make you lose your concentration. As violet orbs gazed into maroon ones, the expression in them seemed to harden. "We need to talk," Effie said sternly, her arms folding over her chest. By her body language alone, it was apparent: she had no intention of leaving until they sorted their problems out.

Arlet's heart literally did a leap of what seemed to be joy when it was Euphemia at the door. Wait. She was supposed to be angry with her, was she not? But then again, that was never truly possible.
"We need to talk," Euphemia introduced defiantly. Honestly, if they weren't in the midst of a serious argument, Arlet would have pounced her, literally. Euphemia looked simply edible in a sweater dress that's tone was exact to the color of her irises. Normally, there would be a visible height difference between the two girls, but with those deadly jet heels, their eyes were almost at level. Folding her arms around her waist and leaning her back to the wall, she indolently kicked the door fully open. "Come on in." With that, Arlet turned back towards her room and made for the bed.

"So. What do we need to 'talk about'?" Arlet inquired, putting up a facade of mild annoyance, while putting air quotation marks around the two words, rather sarcastically. Arlet secretly did want to "kiss-and-make-up", literally. However, she would not be the one to weaken her defenses first. It was true, though they were best friends, it wasn't like Arlet owned her. But it was a fact that she was terribly possessive. It would be nice to hear a sincere apology from Euphemia though. All her thoughts were rattled, simply from having Euphemia in her very own room. Ugh. She seriously needed to grow up.

"So. What do we need to 'talk about?'"

Ohhh, her friend was a smart a**. Euphemia frowned at that question, but said nothing as she walked into Arlet's room. Both of them knew fully well what they needed to talk about. Arlet's outburst. Her problem with Lucas. The whole incident in the artroom, in general. The list went on. In her mind, Effie was just mentally thankful over the fact that they could discuss these things in private. If someone overheard them, God knows what they would say or do.

"Don't play games with me," Effie snapped, "you know fully well what we need to talk about."

"Don't play games with me, you know fully well what we need to talk about." Arlet only snidely scoffed. Euphemia was the one who entered her room, how dare she? Though she just wanted her friend to apologize first, so she could too, she knew the thought was in vain. Arlet knew her own temper. There was no way she would just let that comment slide.

So, she put up a cocky and blase demeanor. Crossing her legs in a sultry manner, and crossing her arms once again, Arlet merely put on a nasty smirk. "But I thought you loved games. Lucas does, doesn't he?" If there was one thing she agreed about with Lucas, it was the fact that Arlet Jahar, was a major b***h. She immediately regretted the comment, and wouldn't be surprised if Euphemia threw a cold slap at her cheek. Oh well.

If Arlet would have been anyone else, then she would have slapped her. Slapped her clear across the face while scratching her with perfectly manicured fingernails in the process. But she wasn't. Arlet was her best friend. The fact that she was also dressed in lingerie and sitting all sexily didn't help matters, either. Ohhh! Effie could have screamed. Yelled at the belly-dancer, given her a piece of her mind, and then storm out of the room. Euphemia didn't do any of those things, however. No...for some reason, she remained in Arlet's room.

The whole games comment was just about Effie's breaking point. Annoyed and her eyes narrowed icily, she strode over to where her friend sat and put her hands up as if to push the girl back into the wall. "Listen," she whispered in a cool, slightly harsh voice into Arlet's ear, "I know you don't like Lucas, but you're just going to have to get over it. What happened last year was last year. I'm over it. We've made up, and your little...outburst in the art room last week was totally out of line." With that, Euphemia had said all she needed to say. She sat up, scooted away from her friend, and smoothed out her dress as she sat next to Arlet and silence.

She could be so irrational sometimes. Maybe now she'd actually listen. Then again...this was Arlet.

How cliche. Did Euphemia truly think she could intimidate her by trapping her? They'd known each other for years. Arlet knew Euphemia's strengths and weaknesses, as did Euphemia. Arlet could barely even roll her eyes. Euphemia was missing the point! It was a stupid decision on Euphemia's part to move next to her, it only made her extremely easy prey.

"No. You listen."
First, she only pointed a finger on her right hands toward Euphemia, slightly pushing her. Then, fully pushing her down onto the bed, with a most stoic and dangerous expression, one arm on each side of Euphemia, trapping the girl, she continued. "You're missing the point. Of COURSE, I don't like Lucas. Who in their right mind would dare to like, even love a womanizing purple-headed gamer? Sure. It's a good decision on your part to move on, HOWEVER, that same s**t is only going to happen to you again." Taking a breath, she put on the most vicious smirk, thinking of the incident in the art room. "Euphemia. If it was so out of line, then your reaction was much, much, worse."

"My reaction? My reaction was worse?"

How typical. Effie couldn't help but laugh at this. Sure, her reaction might not have been one of the best in the world, but she couldn't help it. She wasn't exactly thinking straight at the time. Besides - Arlet was the one who instigated the whole thing! If she hadn't...kissed her..like she did, then this whole thing never would have happened! As far as Euphemia was concerned, this whole thing was Arlet's fault.

"You were the one who kissed me, remember? Out of nowhere! What the hell was I supposed to do? Your actions caught me off guard, and my body did the first thing that came to mind."

Excuses. That was all that her words were - excuses.

Arlet only rolled her eyes. Euphemia's attempts at trying to hold up her end of the argument only made Arlet want to give the girl a big hug. Sure, she had been the one to kiss Euphemia first, but Arlet's lips had merely slipped! That was all, a slip. Okay, that was the lamest excuse in the history of man-kind. If Lucas could repeat history with Euphemia, so could Arlet. It was easy in their current position, anyways. It was also true, that at this rate, Arlet would only end up breaking another pot or two. She would initiate the apologizing sequence, though her method would possibly stir up another argument. Whatever. Let's get this over with. And then, Arlet dived in for yet another kiss on those perfectly glossed lips. Phew. What a tiring afternoon.

Euphemia should have stopped her. She should have raised a finger up, placed them on her companion's lips and told her no. But she didn't. Instead, she welcomed those lips in a fashion similar to the first time. What was wrong with her? She shouldn't be doing this, and she knew that. Yet at the same time, the girl couldn't stop herself. What was it with Arlet? Why did Euphemia long for her so? Well, whatever it was, there were definitely feelings there that were more than just friendship because for a second time Effie kissed back. This was ridiculous. As the potter welcomed the belly-dancer's advances, one thought and one thought only popped into her mind:

Lucas was going to kill her if he ever found this out.

Victory was hers, as her own eyelids slowly felt like closing, and her mocha lips tightened around Euphemia's. They had literally "kissed-and-made-up". She laughed in her mind at the thought of what Lucas would think. The b*****d deserved it! Though reluctantly, she finally pulled away. Putting on her puppy-dog expression, her apology was almost inaudible. "I'm sorry..."

Well, at least she had gotten what she had came for.

Arlet was sorry for what she had done - the entire outburst in the art room. Effie was glad that the two of them would now be able to move on. This was great! They could be friends again! Euphemia exhaled a sigh of relieve. It was always difficult being mad at your friends - it was one of the most difficult things in the world, in fact.

"Apology accepted," Euphemia giggled before leaning up to place a gentle kiss on Arlet's forhead. "I'm sorry, too."

Who would have ever thought the two of them would literally kiss and make up, though?
