Dysis paced while waiting for her sister. Where was the blasted mare? She had told her to meet here shortly after sunrise. Surely she couldn't have forgotten. Of course now that she thought about it Eos wasn't exactly the most punctual of Nequus. She was likely off dancing around having a great old time with who knows whats. That was so typical of Eos. Always off having fun leaving Dysis to deal with everything.
She glanced at the sun and the returned her gaze to the surrounding area looking for any signs of her colorful sister. So far nothing. Dysis could only hope that for once her sister didn't get into trouble that she would need to get her out of. Why, oh why did Eos have to be so...bothersome. She sighed, damn her closeness to her sister, if it wasn't for that she would have given up on the mare ages ago.

Eos flounced onto the scene a bit after Dysis probably wanted her too - she never really meant to be late, it always just sorta happened and as she landed gracefully nest to her obviously irritated sister Eos offered her a small apologetic smile. "Whoops...I'm sorry Dy-Dy, I just lost track of time!" The brightly colored mare remarked in a bird like chirpy voice.
"But no harm done right?" She continued on with a bright look "I mean at least I didn't get lost...or into trouble...or fall asleep and not show up at all" she pointed out "Always best to look on the bright side of things" She concluded after folding her wings to her sides.

Letting out a sigh of relief when Eos finally arrived she looked at the mare with a slightly angry look on her face. "Couldn't you not lose track of time just once? It's the same story every time." It would take an utter miracle for that to happen. Eos has always been and always would be a scatterbrain that would always come along at her own pace.
"No harm done?" She raised her eyebrow at this, for that wasn't the usual case. Eos had a knack for getting into trouble at every turn, but luckily for her Dysis had a knack for talking her out of trouble. "I try to look on the bright side Eos, but is hard when you get into trouble so often." Her expression turned stern. "Now where were you?"

"Oh Dy, your always so angry!" Eos remarked and flicked her tail as though brushing said anger away, sometimes she wished her sister would settle down a little bit and relax - but then she wouldn't be the Dysis she had always known and loved and Eos like always decided she liked her sister just the way she had always been, No change needed!
"I was just" Eos hesitated slightly, she was pretty sure that Dysis wouldn't be happy to hear why she'd been late, but as Eos wasn't one to lie about things she answered after a slight pause "was just watching the birds on the lake..some of them have eggs you know and its so cute to watch how protective the are of their eggs!' She rambled on before concluding in a dreamy voice "Oh Dy..wouldn't it be wonderful to meet a handsome Bae and have fruit of our own?" Eos also had a rather romantically minded view of families and was quite sure she was going to live 'happily ever after'.

Dysis looked at Eos with a shocked expression. "I am not angry all the time. Only when it is needed." She shook her mane as she watched Eos give some thought to her answer. Was she gonna try to pull a fast one? Likely not, Eos wasn't smart enough for that, and even if she did try Dysis could always see through her little while lies.
"You were just watching the bird huh?" That sounded truthful enough, but could never be too sure. It could have started with watching bird and moved to something less pleasant. She was snapped out of that thought as Eos went on about finding a mate and having fruit. She snorted. "I don't think either of us is ready for such a responsibility." That was half truthful. Dysis knew she could handle the responsibilities of motherhood, but it was Eos that worried her. She was likely to wander off from her fruit like she did everything else. Of course in some crazy way having fruit may be the grounding force that Eos so desperately needed. Dysis shook the thought from her head. She oddly enough liked her sister just the way she was and couldn't imagine her being a more settled down mare with a family. "No, there will be no handsome Bae's and no fruit. Not any time soon."

Eos flicked an ear as Dysis looked stated she wasn't always angry - well okay maybe she wasn't and Eos was just over exaggerating, that was probably it , Eos was prone to things like that, something he wasn't always aware of until after the fact of course. And it was normally Dysis who pointed it out to her.
"Well yes...it was interesting, the way they waddle about on two legs. How long do you think a Nequus could stay on two legs?" She prattled on, already distracted from the fruit conversation by this new topic of thought.

Shaking her head slightly Dysis went to say something but then stopped herself short. Eos was already on some other topic that had nothing to do what they were just talking about. Typical Eos, she thought. "I'm not sure they would be able to stay on two legs long." She replied, not like it would mean anything to Eos, by now she surly forgot what she was just talking about.
"Are you sure you didn't get into trouble?" It was a valid question. Better to find out now than down the road and be caught off guard. "You know you can tell me if you did. I insist that you tell me in fact." Dysis mentally prepared herself for another one of Eos' short explanations of what went wrong, leaving out far too many important details.

"Pity" Eos remarked in a slightly sad tone before tossing her head to throw her forelock from her eyes in a motion that was far more graceful then it probably needed to be "I should like to have tried." She continued in an airy tone before her sisters attention got her attention again.
"Oh...no..no trouble, well I almost fell into the lake and got my wings all wet - and you know how long those take to dry!..but it was only almost so I don't think that really counts as trouble" Eos answered breezily, lips pursed as though in great thought as she recalled her morning adventure.
"Are you sure Nequus can't stand on their hind legs for long?" She suddenly asked her sister "I'm pretty sure I've seen stallions do it from time to time, will you time me if I try?" She suddenly asked, reverting back to her previous train of thought.

"Oh yes that would have been horrible to get your wings wet." Dysis replied. Although compared to some situations Eos had been in getting her wings wet would be a minor thing really. Listening to Eos once again change the direction of the conversation just made Dysis sigh. Just once she would like to have a normal conversation with her sister, none of this switching of topics every few seconds.
"Yes stallions do it from time to time. But that is usually when they are fighting and even then they cannot maintain the pose long. She shook her head at the idea of Eos trying to stand on her hind legs for long. Oh yes, this will go well she thought.

"Well!" Eos declared after a few moments of thought "I shalln't want to appear as though I"m fighting anyone - thats not a very lady like thing to be seen doing" she finally decided before shaking her head to move a curly lock of forelock out of her eyes "I don't think I'll try it after all" She concluded with a tinge of sorrow in her voice. it might have been fun..oh well.
The sorrow was short lived however as Eos turned her attention elsewhere, fixing her sister a look as though she's just remembered that it had been Dysis who had demanded they meet here. "Oh yeah...you called me here didn't you! Did you have something important to chat about?"

Dysis sighed in relief when Eos finally decided against trying to walk on her hind legs. Surely that would have only ended in disaster had she tried it. She cursed silently as Eos brought up the reason why she had been called here. In all her concern of whether Eos had gotten herself in trouble she had totally forgotten why she called her sister her, which was odd since Dysis rarely forgot things.
"Ah yes, why I called you here. Well I merely wanted to check up on you. I hadn't seen you in a while and needed to make sure you were alright." She replied. That was a half truth at least. It had been some time since she last saw Eos. She normally checked in on her a bit more often but she had been distracted by a few things and hadn't had the chance to do so recently. Now what was the other reason to have called her here.

Oh, Eos blinked a few times..well wasn't that lovely? Dysis had wanted to check up on her - although come to think o it Dysis did that quite often, not that Eos complained however because while she loved her sister Eos was pretty sure she'd get distracted and forget to follow up on her sister on a regular basis. Eos always forgot things like that, she didn't mean too - really she didn't but life just always seemed to get in the way when it came to Eos.
"Well that was sweet of you!" The little mare remarked in a breezy voice "i'm perfectly fine, how about yourself, had any interesting run in's ?"

Dysis raised a brow at her sister. Ah yes the 'I'm perfectly fine' answer. She had heard that one far too often, even when she wasn't perfectly fine. She could never understand how her sister could be so...scatterbrained all the time and yet Dysis was the complete opposite. Neither their father nor their mother was anything like Eos, she must have gotten it from her grand dam. That mare was completely like Eos from what she could remember of the stories her mother used to tell.
"I have been well. And nothing of interest has happened to me lately." She replied. "At least nothing that would interest you." Surely Eos would not want to hear about her meeting with an old Bae stallion who had once been Dysis' teacher when she was younger and how they talking about many in depth things.

"Well...that sounds rather...dull..to be honest" Eos remarked after her sister stopped relaying her boring sounding life. Come to think of it Dysis never really had much to tell her - Dysis was more interested in talking about intellectual or philosophical things to have interesting adventures in the world around her. It was such a shame really - at least to Eos' way of thinking, there were so many wonders to be seem and adventures to be had out in the world. She didn't really see the point of sitting about talking about adventures hen you could have your own. "What are you going to do now then?"

"Well," Dysis started. "Now that I know you haven't gotten yourself into any trouble, I suppose I will go off in search of more knowledge. One can never know too much. I have heard that one of my oldest teachers has recently returned from a trip to Yisi and should like to talk to her about what she did there." She stopped her explanation there, surely Eos had stopped listening for some time. She always did that when Dysis was going on about something intellectual.
She gave her sister a stern look. "Now while I am gone can you try to stay out of trouble? I really do worry about you some days." She spread up out her wings getting ready to take off but turned back to Eos one last time. "Meet me here in a week." With a small leap she was in the air. As her wings began to take her away she called down to her sister one last time. "And try not to be late this time." Soon she was above the tree tops headed towards her destination, and although she was looking forward to seeing her old teacher she already missed her sister. Eos was never far from her thoughts.
