xxxxx"If you're worried about surviving, xxxxxxxyou can worry about it after you're dead!"
"The wyvern riders of Bern sit atop the heap of all other forces on the continent!" xxxxx "You will see our power soon!"

Out of the Eyris city gates, marched a battalion of soldiers, mixed both with generic soldiers and members of the FEF guild. Leading the battalion was Commander Vaida, and the Dame Knight Isadora. As they marched down the main road, they passed villages, where people watched from a distance, and children ran after the soldiers, until they got to where they could no longer follow. Eventually, they made their way to Pentheus, and passed by it, then ceased their march at the rendezvous point.

Vaida landed on the ground, and dismounted, as Mihira made her way timidly up to her commander. Just by looking at the scout's face, Vaida could tell there was something the girl did not want to say. As Vaida looked around, she noticed that there was a severe lack of expected people. In fact, all she saw was The tactician and her boyfriend. Vaida looked back to her subordinate, and raised an eyebrow. "Mihira... kindly tell me where everybody is. Now."

Mihira gulped, and trembled a little. She knew this would happen, she just knew it. All hope she had that they would return from the desert in time was for nothing. Mihira looked up at her commander, and stuttered, not knowing how bad the reaction would be. "T-they uh... w-well...." She gulped again. "S-sir Roy ran off into the desert, so... D-Deborah and the others ran after... him..."

Vaida blinked. There was an ominous for a moment, before Vaida finally opened her mouth. "DAMN THEEEM!" The echoes resounded for a good ten seconds. "What the hell, I said for them to stay put! What is so hard about that?! That damn kid better not have caused anything bad to happen. And voodoo girl better have kept him safe, because when I see him, I'm going to kill him, myself!"

Vaida thought for a moment, then looked over to the troops behind her, and at the accompanying crew member. Without a lead upon where the others were, the best choice was to just make their way to the tower. "Alright! We head out! Keep close to the people around you, that means no wandering off! We'll be moving slowly through the sand, but as long as we're together, you should all be okay." She turned to Mihira. "Join me in the sky, to make sure we go the right way." She then looked over toward the tactician, and spoke rhetorically. "Well, let's go hunt us some b***h, shall we?" With that, she remounted, and the march continued. "Onward! The desert calls!"

After the group at the bandit fort had all gathered together, and rested for a bit, it was decided that it would be logical to return to Pentheus. Deborah for one, would have demanded them go back, and threatened them, if she had to. After all, the Guard was on their way. The halberdier had no idea how long they had been fighting, they may very well have missed meeting the Guard. she was not going to be happy, if that was the case. Having to answer to Vaida would piss her off to no end. Deborah couldn't remember how many times she pictured jabbing her spear into the throat of that woman to make her shut up. It was bad enough she was swindled into joining the Guard, but having to take orders from the likes of the commander was just salt on the wound.

The group soon left the fort and traveled onward, making their way back to Learanian borders. Their speed had improved quite a bit, in general. The others must have gotten somewhat accustomed to the desert travel. However, Deborah soon got lost in her thoughts, for a moment. She couldn't help but feel as if there was a face missing from the group... wasn't there a... cow thing? "Ah, whatevah..." She said to herself, discarding the thought. "It's probably noting..."

As the group continued further, Deborah looked up, and saw two black specs in the sky. The shape of them distinguished them as wyverns, and the thought was confirmed, as th specs flew closer. Pegasi were smaller than wyverns, and their wings were much different. Deborah didn't want to dwell on it, but the thought of a random pair of wyverns flying the skies was... odd. She looked out before her, and saw dancing silhouettes coming toward the group, from afar. It was hard to make out what it was at first, but it certainly was no mirage. As she looked closer, Deborah could make out the shape of heads, and limbs, perhaps a wagon or so. "An army...?" She asked aloud. Sentria had no organized army, and only bandits roamed the sands freely in groups, though not so organized. Deborah bit her lip, and looked back into the sky. She recognized those wyverns. There could be no other explanation. They had run into the Guard.

Deborah smacked the palm of her right hand upon her face. "...I hate ya all."

Roy helped his mother walk back with the group, and it wasn't long until they passed the border back into Learania. His mother was silent the whole way. Of course that was to be expected...both dragons were exhausted, and the dancer was not meant to be in the desert, of all places.

He heard the dark-skinned woman speak, and he glanced forward. Another group was coming, and there were wyverns with them. Judging by Deborah's reaction, it was definitely people they knew, probably the Watch or the Guard. Or both.

"Sorry..." said the young lord, looking to the female lancer. "Since it was my fault for leading you guys back into Sentria, I have to own up to my actions."

Since it was indeed his fault for taking Deborah and the others back into the desert, the least he could do was apologize to the angry wyvern commander (like she would even forgive them, the crazy b***h) and try to take all the blame. He owed them that much, since he had taken them back into the desert to help the others.

Ganon stretched slowly. He'd taken the turn scouting ahead on the last stretch to Pentheus. He'd taken an opportunity at a large rock to open up his pack and change-- he couldn't stand the sand in his black clothing anymore, and desperately needed to put something fresh on.

Of course, they'd be going back into the desert. With this in mind, he'd swapped out for a fresh cloak to protect against the sand, and a tight wrap around his chest and stomach. A pair of sleek black pants came down to just above his talons, turning back a bit and forward over his ankles. They had to be made specially to fit the shape of his legs for the effect, but it worked quite well.

With his guitar strapped to his back, he wandered back around the rocks and started up over a tall dune, then slid downt he side.

Imagine his surprise when he came out into a legion of Eyrians. "H-hey!" he shouted as a wyvern nuzzled against his side, hopping away a bit. "What the hell... we got reinforcements?" He started pushing his way toward the front, hopping right over Umbriel's tail as he stepped around to wave to the approaching group as they closed the last hundred yards.

"Well, damn. This is a bit of a surprise, huh?" He turned around slowly, tail wagging, then paused as someone caught his eye.

A flash of red scales? No...

Finally the Guard and small group of guild members reached the deserts of Sentia. Along the journey, Aruna conversed with FD, which made the time spent traveling seem shorter than it actually was. She started out in the middle of the pack, but as the weather started to warm up her slithering pace quickened. The dragon managed to keep up with her almost every part of the trip.

Upon rendezvousing with Alihi’s band of “rogues,” the nagini searched for a person of certain interest. A large green reptilian man probably playing the guitar or violin. One couldn’t miss seeing him if they tried. Unless, that is, they were blind, but that’s beside the point. At last Aruna spotted him standing there frozen by disbelief. “Ganon,” she shouted excitedly as she rushed towards the bard.

Immediately, any thoughts of briefing Vaida on the current situation were forgotten. I mean, he knew he probably should start explaining their current situation, but the most beautiful woman in the world was coming his way, and to be entirely honest Vaida was no competition at all.

He lunged right back over Umbriel's tail, skirting around a few Guard members and catching Aruna in his arms. "Aruna, you came all the way out here? I-- I didn't even--" He paused, abandoning that train of thought. "You look--" Words didn't describe.

He stared into her eyes for a long moment, then smiled and pulled her close into a long, deep kiss.

It was a good ten seconds before he pulled back, his cheeks flushing dark green. "I, uh... think that was a bit overdue."

The paladin cursed as she struggled her horse to walk across the dune. She knew full well that the crew were so busy of keeping the peace and order in Learania. But to send a mounted unit to the desert? How would she be able to help Alihi and lead the group if she was behind, despite being the second fastest paladin in Elibe? Well, if Ashera or St. Elimine had a plan for her to go to Sentria, the woman should find a way to help the paladin to travel well in the desert.

Seeing that they had found their missing group, Isadora struggled to get closer. Sure enough, it was the people she recognized However, she also noticed that Roy and Ninian looked terrible than the rest.

"Lady Ninian. Lord Roy," Isadora spoke concernly as she approached to them. "Are you okay? What happened?"

((Terrible post. I would have add about what's going on in Pentheus but I'm too lazy to do so. =P ))

~Ninian~

After Ninian had made her request, the dancer had remained silent as their group made their way slowly back to Pentheus. So lost in her thoughts was she that Ninian barely noticed the heat, and only noticed the two wyverns flying when they were pointed out by the sunlight flashing against their armor. At first, she had been afraid that yet more bandits had come to attack them, but blessedly these soldiers were not bandits, but members of the watch and FEF. Lady Vaida herself led the band. Obviously they were marching to wherever Amara was being held captive.

Relief was immediate. Ninian smiled, releasing a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding when she recognized members of FEF. She nearly cllapsed in relief, but forced herself to keep standing, still holding on to her son for support.

"Lady Ninian. Lord Roy," someone addressed them--Lady Isadora. The paladin looked concerned as she saw the state the mother and son were in. "Are you okay? What happened?"

"Lady Isadora," Ninian greeted the paladin. "We were attack by bandits and . . . they were not easily defeated." She involuntarily shuddered at the memory of exactly what had happened. "We are in need of healing, I'm afraid, but otherwise alright. Roy saved me." She smiled gratefully up at her son before turning back to the paladin.

"Lady Isadora . . . is all of this--" she gestured towards the army around them "--are all of these people coming to save Amara? What happened while we were here?"

Surely something big must have happened for the relatively small group initially sent to rescue Alihi's daughter to suddenly turn into an army with all of the watch, and now even a crew member was coming along. Just who had taken Amara? Surely this was much larger than a simply kidnapping.

Roy noticed that Isadora was approaching them, even using the titles she had been using ever since their time back in Elibe. She had asked what had happened. The young lord took a deep breath, then spoke.

"A lot of stuff...it would take too much time to explain all the details, and time is not something we exactly have. Besides, there are...some parts...that we would rather not think about, nor explain." he said weakly. "But I'll give you a summary of our time out in the desert."

"We were attacked by bandits while crossing Sentria. Our group was broken into two due to a sandstorm, and I was separated from Mother. Half of us found ourselves at the tower, while the other half was left with the bandits. When we later regrouped to fight the bandits, they retreated back into their fort, and Mother was kidnapped by them. We fought our way into the fort. Deborah and myself broke from the group to look for Mother. We ran into some trouble, but we handled it." he paused. "I...shudder to think what would have happened to Mother if I reached that last room a moment too late. I got burned pretty badly while fighting the bandit leader, and almost lost my life trying to save Mother's..."

He closed his eyes. The memories of entering that room and the fight were still etched in his mind. Perhaps they would never go away...not without some therapy. He shook his head, then looked up at the paladin.

"We wiped out the bandit group though, so that should make your journey to the tower a little safer. Neither of us are in any shape of going with you to rescue Amara and the others."

He then lowered his good arm from supporting Ninian and unclipped the sheath that held the Rune sword. Roy looked up at Isadora and raised the weapon to give to her.

"Take this with you...If you can use a Silver sword, you can definitely use this. It might not be in perfect condition, but it has enough uses left and should keep you alive."

The young lord smiled up at the knight for a moment, then his face turned serious.

"We might not be in Elibe anymore, but you are still a knight of Pherae. One of the finest knights in all of Lycia. So don't die, Isadora. And be careful."

When we get home, I know we won't be home at all...

Akihi was tired. He had said nothing about the "something" Roy was going to give him; his mind was still in a tangle. Would he continue on, or would he turn his back? I'm... not sure... He thought to himself with a sigh, looking ahead. His eyebrow raised as he saw something... unusual. What...? He rubbed his eyes, making sure that what he was seeing was not a mirage.

But it wasn't. There were people approaching their group.

And there was one in particular that called him out. "Akihi!!" Alihi ran up to her brother to the best of her abilities, nearly glomping him on the spot. She held him tightly, smiling at the reassurance that he was a physical being; she nearly wept for joy. They were alive. Maybe not in perfect condition, but every single person was still breathing. The tactician sighed in relief. "Thank goodness you're alright...!"

He couldn't help but smile, returning and completing the Kaua twin embrace. In that moment, he decided to keep moving forward. After all, the worst that could happen would be that he would be forced to back down, which actually was not terrible. "... O-of course I am..." The mage murmured softly. He noted that his sister's walk was different, more like a stagger than usual; he had to assume that she was injured somehow. Both Kaua siblings, weaker than normal... and yet too stubborn to give up... Akihi held back a soft chuckle. Something about that shared similarity seemed so amusing to him.

When Aruna impacted with Ganon, her tan cloth hood fell back exposing her crimson-colored hair to the desert winds. Not that she cared right now. All of her attention focused on the hgi-val who was holding onto her.

“Of course,” The nagini replied to his question before the incomplete thought and during his pause. “When I heard the guards say your group was in peril, I just had to join their reinforcements. The news that soldier brought when he visited the club troubled me. I almost assumed the worse.”

You look– After those, Ganon seemed to be at a loss for words. The moment didn’t call for anything to be said anyway. Aruna looked back into his emerald eye and had a good guess of what was going to happen next.

“Heh. You need to make up more than that for how worried I was about you,” the half snake woman chuckled. She pulled him back in for another lengthy, passionate kiss. This one lasted nearly twice as long as the first before Aruna backed off. Ganon would surely be an even darker shade of green by now. In fact the woman had a bit of a rosy tint to her face.

“We’ll save the rest for later,” she winked.

The battalion had made a nice distance into the desert, thus far. Vaida and Mihira rode the sky, and the scout made sure that they were going the right way. As they continued on, Vaida looked down and saw a few small dots in the sand. "Hm? Mihira, to the ground. We must see who these people are. They could be hostile."

The pair of wyverns soon descended to the earth. When Vaida dismounted, she looked over, as the figures had become recognizable. She gritted her teeth, and held back the urge to grind them. Of course, it was good that these were the people that the battalion had come upon. However, it didn't quell the rage that Vaida held. It seemed that a few of the soldiers had already started talking to the group, such as Isadora. She walked over to where Isadora had gone, and heard Roy say something about not having much time to spare. That ticked Vaida off. "You're damn right we don't, and you don't even know the half of it!" She said, as she slugged him across the face. "When you all go back and get healed up, in the wagons, try asking somebody about 'Razevi'! Pheh!"

She walked away and made her way up to Deborah. "As for you! ...You're damn lucky the choice you made was technically the right one. Even if you DID disobey an order." Vaida turned away and looked back over her shoulder. "Get the hell bandaged up, and be ready, when we get to the tower..." She then made her way back to Umbriel, and looked out upon the troops. "Alright! You see them, don't you? Get their beaten up ugly selves some healing! And keep moving!" She jumped up into the saddle, and held the reigns. "Let's go, Mihira!" She then flew back into the sky, and the battalion continued on their way, now with some formerly missing faces.

No sooner had he finished talking to Isadora had Vaida approached.

"You're damn right we don't, and you don't even know the half of it!" the former Bernese general spoke before she slugged him in the face.

Had Roy been in perfect condition, he would still be standing with his cheek throbbing, maybe a small chance of a broken jaw. But nope. His vision disappeared for a moment before he hit the floor, landing on his injured arm. He fought down the urge to cry out from further damaging his useless left arm. It was a good thing he had let go of his mother before Vaida hit him, else she would have fallen as well. After a bit of struggling, he got back up to his feet.

"When you all go back and get healed up, in the wagons, try asking somebody about 'Razevi'! Pheh!"

His eyes grew cold as he glared at the broad-chested woman as she began to walk away. She dare say he didn't know the half of it? If he didn't know the half of it, Vaida knew nothing at all!

Razevi? Was that the name of the woman they had met at the tower? Well...not like it mattered to him. He wasn't in any condition to go with the group, even if he did go to get some treatment. The young lord wasn't about to let his mother walk all the way back to Eyris on her own, either.

"If we waited for you, half of our group would have been captured. Or worse, raped and dead!" he said before he spat out some blood in his mouth. "You should at least be thankful that we made your march through the desert easier. We got rid of a bandit group that was in the way. So don't be spewing s**t about people not knowing half the story!"

But the former Bern general wasn't even listening to him. She had gone to threaten Deborah before going back onto her mount.

"You're not even in charge of this group...Alihi is!"

Oh, how he would just love blasting the broad out of the sky with the Flame sword. The little bastards had very little resistance to magic. But he resisted the urge. He wasn't in any condition to fight anyway. Instead, he gave Vaida the finger (when she was in the air and her back towards him) before he limped back towards his mother.

Isadora listened to the tale that Ninian and Roy told. It surprised the paladin that they were separated from the storm and later being attacked by the bandits. Never would she thought it would happened after a sandstorm.

She was curious by Roy's comment about what shuddered him if he came the room too late, but she decided not to ask. If her lord didn't wish to speak, she won't dare meddle into his business. In addition, what was done was done. Now it was time for them to start off where they had left off: to save Amara and Blossom. (She doesn't know about Vika yet. =P)

"It's good to hear that you have defeated the bandits. Now let us continue where you've started from the beginning; to save the people we care." Isadora said. She then looked at Ninian.

"Yes, this is all the group that we have for this mission, Lady Ninian. While you and the others went to rescue Amara, there was a plague in Eyris, driving the citizens crazy with hallucinations. I don't know what causes it, but it spreads rapidly and drives the sane citizens into their houses. Not only that, but we have madmen and criminals on the loose too. Some of the people back in Eyris are either hiding from the plague or trying to round up the madmen."

Isadora then smiled softly. "But for now, I think you and Lady Ninian should go back, heal yourself, and rest. It seems you have taken more damages than the rest do."

Before the paladin was about to go, she heard Roy asked her to take the Runesword. She looked at the weapon her lord held. Despite that she had resupplied her weapons back in Pentheus to go on to the mission, Isadora smiled at the young lord and took the weapon. Just like his father, always cared about other people's welfare.

"Will do, Lord Roy. We will try our best to save Amara and Blossom." Isadora smiled softly.

Just then, she heard Vaida's voice. When did she arrive? The paladin wondered. But before she could protest that Roy was trying to save his mother, she saw Vaida punched him.

"Lord Roy!" Isadora shouted before looking back at the Wyvern Lord who went back to Deborah. Isadora frowned. Honestly, didn't the woman know that he was hurt? Then again, this was Vaida she was thinking about.

The paladin heard Roy muttered about their timing, but decided not to speak. She didn't want to get involved with anything that had to do with Vaida. Whether it would be physical or verbal. She was thankful that she was still on their side and not the enemy. Who knew what would happen if it did?

Isadora apologized to the lord about Vaida's behavior. After all, she was in her time and she wasn't sure if Vaida was in his time too. She then heard the lord spoke that Alihi was in charge of the group. Isadora looked at Roy and frowned a bit.

"It's true that Alihi is in charge. However, this mission has become worse. With Razevi involves, we will need more than we can to stop her."

Isadora then moved her horse to where Alihi was and looked down at her. "Alihi, we are here to assist you. Tell us what to do when we reach to the tower."

She then snapped her reins and continued to move into the direction where Vaida and Mihira went; toward the place where the tower was.... If only she was able to move faster in the desert.
