I've noticed lately that this guild - and many guilds - have become fairly inactive.
So what can I do to help increase activity here?
Add games?
Add contests?
Please post suggestions here. I don't want this guild to die - it's got so many topics and can have so many more, that we could continue on conversation constantly!
Also, about moderator inactivity - I'm seriously considering taking moderator status away from some moderators who don't post here soon. I have a lot of moderators who volunteered to be moderators and did nothing, or almost nothing, to help.
I want moderators who can get me new, current news - and post it in the news topic. I can't get all the news myself, as you've probably seen. I need help. There have to be SOME people willing to help out.
If you want to help post news, please don't post unconfirmed news. I know some websites post news that isn't confirmed; you can check if it's confirmed by checking the band the news is about's official website for information. Even if you can't read Japanese, you can tell if they're releasing a new CD that's been announced somewhere, or something.
I know that not ALL news is posted on band websites, like the news I posted about Daishi. But I only posted confirmed news that came from news sources. I'd like you to use reliable sources if you post news.

I'm still active, as you know! I'm not sure what can be done to get people more active acually...but I'd be happy to help out with getting news and other things though ^.^

My goodness... I'm actually posting here! eek Anyway, games and contests are always good ways to get more people into the guild and posting (provided they have time).
Some random ideas that I've just thought up (I'm good at that):
Games:
VisKei Hangman: Use the names of bands or members in bands, you get the drift.
Contests:
Avatar contests: Cosplay your avvie like a member of any visual kei band!
Fanart contests: The deal should be obvious here...
Cosplay contests: The deal is, again, obvious, but people might have a problem with showing their pictures in the Wired. Plus, this might have to be a LONG-running contest because you'd need to consider that real people are harder to dress than avatars and all.
Fanfic contests: Obvious deal.
I've obviously that up more contests than games, but you get my drift, and this is a nifty little list, after all.
Ano... other things that might keep people coming is to open up a visual kei roleplay in here. You already made something like that through yahoo, didn't ya? Well, you could make one here. It would be nifty, especially for people not doing the yahoo anymore (MOI).
... Oh yeah, and I don't know if this is already happening in here, but it would be nifty if there was like a "rotation thread" showcasing bands, so people could get tastes of all sorts of visual kei bands.
Or you could make that radio thing that The Official J-Rock Guild has. That thing is just so awesome.

Brenli, I LOVE YOU. Thank you SO much. That's just the kind of input I've been wanting. Your ideas are love - and I think the band rotation thing is a great idea. Maybe update it once a week with a different band - I wouldn't want to put up full mp3s, because I definitely want people to support the bands, but I'd be happy to put up mp3 samples for people. Definitely member information, band information, and pictures, though..Yeah, I'll definitely do that. heart
As for the contests, they're great ideas. heart I love cosplay contests, I'd love to do that. The hangman game sounds fun, and it can be a lot more varied than the one in the Diru guild {though I love that one} - if just because we can't so easily just look through one bands' lyrics for a line.
The others sound nice too, I'd like input from other people on what contests they'd like to do. I'm definitely going to do the J-rock band rotation and the cosplay contest and the hangman game.

I was typing up the featured band topic, and I had a lot written - general information about the topic, band information, member profiles, etc. - and I went to close the window I had copypasted member profiles from....and my posting window closed. Meaning I lost the entire post, except for a link to Gazette's website. Le grr.
So I'm retyping it now, but I doubt it'll sound as good as it did before. Not that it sounded good in the first place.
Anyway....I'm working on it again now. Sorry about the rant. >>; heart
