She had made it, slipped away from the pride that had imprisoned her for so long. Amadet had been behaving for some time, to whatever extent she could. She was never happy and was extremely antisocial, still not over being left here or when her cubs were taken from her. She couldn't even remember the names she had given them now, doubted she could recognize them if she saw them. All she had left was herself and her own selfish thoughts. She wasn't bent on revenge now, just escape. Or she was that afternoon. She had gotten this far unnoticed, she had a chance. She didn't know how much farther she had to go before she was away from the pride, but she kept on moving, feeling more confident than she had in a long time.

It was a mission, in a way, this need to find and conquer a warrior from each of the great warrior prides. He'd had a great battle in the Firekin and conquered a lady from the Mzimu in a different way, but each had been conquered in his own opinion. Now, now he was wandering towards a place quite different, but no less renowned for the prowess of it's warriors. It was also know, however, for the way it secluded itself and sent them in packs.
"Tricksy, tricksy," he muttered under his breath, his eyes rolling up to the sky above him, staring momentarily at the sun as he stood poised outside the farthest reaches of their jungle. He wasn't afraid, just anticipating how difficult this was going to be. To separate one from a pack was always harder than cornering a lone wolf. That precise moment was when he heard the sound of footfalls in the not-so-distant jungle, however. Lonely footfalls.
A wicked smile spread across his maw as he ducked into the foliage, his large form doing its best not to make too much noise in the unfamiliar terrain - though it was probably no where near the grace of the felines that lived here permanently. It took only moments, though, to find the other, and once he did a slight alert went up in his head. Weren't these ladies supposed to be bright? No matter!
"Ready to dance, love?" he called out, claws already beginning to dig into the earth beneath him.

Amadet was not expecting to run into anybody, not from the outside heading in, at least. She wasn't paying enough attention to the world ahead of her, she was barely paying any mind to the world behind her and that was where she out to be focusing when trying to escape. When Do'al came nearer, he was hard to miss, though-- but she still barely noticed him until he spoke. He looked about as unfriendly as one could imagine, especially when all the males you had seen lately were rather docile and submissive. Though, her perception of the pride around her was slightly distorted.
"What?" she was alert now, her head high and she took a step back, "Who are you?" She didn't look afraid, but she didn't look particularly strong or able either. She looked grumpy, and a bit confused.

Why was she ruining such a perfect moment? This wasn't the way he had imagined one of the proud Kunanda'Nakhun warrior lionesses at all.
"Are specifics really that important, sweetheart? All that matters is that I came to fight one of your great warriors, and you walked right into my waiting paws." He brought up one paw and flexed his claws for emphasis before placing it back on the ground and taking another few steps forward.
All this talking was beginning to get a little irritating though. He wanted to fight, not talk.

Looking for one of the great warriors? Well, that was just great. Not only was Amadet not a great warrior (and well aware of it), it annoyed her that the pride had such a reputation that it was luring in challengers. Her eyes narrowed and she took another step away, she didn't want to fight, she certainly didn't stand much chance against a lion bigger and apparently more talented than she was.
"You want to cause trouble, keep going," she muttered, though she wasn't sure she could talk her way out of this one. He wasn't looking too interested in talking, and though she wasn't too interested in fighting, the talking was easier to stop.

No, no, no, this wasn't going to do at all. It had to to be the first one he encountered, based upon random chance and thus hopefully meaning she represented an average pride member. If he went looking for others, that would break all of his rules. Why couldn't she just cooperate?
He sighed, letting his head hang for a moment, his shaggy mane falling around his face and momentarily shielding him. Then, with a growl and his face contorted into a snarl, he took another step forward with eyes locking onto her. He realized he was effectively herding her further back towards the pride, but that was inevitable. If this is what it took to make her fight..
"No, love, I don't think you understand me," he hissed out, eyes flaring with his irritation, "I'm here to fight. I'm not merciful, I don't give anyone second chances."

Her eyes stayed on him, even when he sighed and hide his face briefly. She had to fight back a defensive growl when he reappeared, looking more vicious and determined this time. She stepped back as he stepped forward, but realized the same as he did that she was being pushed back toward the pride. She did not want to go back, and a fight wasn't going to stop her. She didn't care enough anymore, she would pick a fight or chase over going back at that moment.
"Get out of my way!" she snapped finally, jumping to the side in an effort to go around and make a run for it. She expected it to provoke him but she wasn't known for making the best decisions, even when she knew the consequences.

That's better. As soon as she snapped and jumped to go around him, a wicked smile spread across his mug. That was exactly what he wanted, a little fight in a girl.
"Have you been listening to me at all?" he said with a wicked grin, twisting to leap in front of her path, closer to her than he'd ever come before now. "I'm not going to let you go, not without a fight." He'd already been bargained with once before, and he wasn't really looking for that this time, especially not with someone that didn't appear to be the greatest example this pride had to offer. Then again, a pride is only as strong as it's weakest member, right?
"So you'd better brave up, darling," he cooed out, narrowing his eyes on her as his body began to tense - as if he were getting ready for a pounce.

She stumbled to a stop when he twisted around and blocked her path. Her best bet to run was to run back and even that option was gone in a second when his words caused her to hesitate and he prepared to pounce. The only options left were to brace herself or try to get away again. She decided to try finding another way past him, but she was far too obvious about where she was going.

Well, this was beginning to be no fun. At least, not the type of fun he wanted it to be. He could play cat and mouse with anyone, anywhere, but he came here to have a real battle. She certainly wasn't giving it to him, either.
He let out a low growl of disappointment, stalking forward in a hunch with his teeth barred. "What a disappointment the Kunanda'Nakhun has turned out to be. I wanted a warrior, and instead I got a coward." He sneered a bit, claws flexing against the earth and shrub beneath them. "I should do your pride a favor and just kill you now, hm?"

As soon as stalked forward rather than pouncing, she came to a stop. Her ears turned and her heart raced, especially when he verbalized a death threat. She knew the danger but hearing it seemed far more sinister. She tried to think fast, looking for a way out of this but not finding much way. She wouldn't make it far trying to run, she wouldn't make it far trying to fight.. she had to hope he would just lose interest in any option except walking away.
"They are not my pride, they would not care one way or another if I was killed," she hissed in response, despite everything better judgment was telling her, "And I am not a coward."

He wasn't merciful, he wasn't kind, and he certainly wasn't a lion one would want to meet in a shady jungle all alone. He did think she was a coward, shying away from him and almost visibly cowering instead of standing up and fighting. Not that he thought she had much of an advantage, but it would have been so much more.. honorable.
What he was, however, was curious.
The growl and snarl faded slightly and his eyes narrowed just a little. "Then what, precisely, are you doing in the pride if you don't belong here, hm?"

"Because I picked a fight with a goddess too important to take care of me herself," she snapped, her hate for the goddess that had done this to her very apparent in her voice. She'd been holding it in, quite necessarily, for so long. Everything she blamed Mtima'safi for before was not forgotten but now she had the added trouble of being stuck in a pride she hated, that hated her. She had given up on revenge for the time being but she didn't have to stop hating her.
"None of them here would pick a fight with a god," she said boldly, confidently, "Not many would. Even you're here looking to challenge a lioness." Risky business, suggesting things about someone who both could and wanted to kill you, but once she started talking she couldn't really stop.

"Well, isn't that your fault for picking a fight with a goddess?" he asked with a raised brow, his stance having relaxed a little as she began to explain her little 'story'. "They are rather powerful and all, that's why they're gods."
His back went right back up the moment she began to fling barely concealed insults at him, though. His eyes narrowed and he took another step towards her, though something about this seemed a little less predatory, and a bit more like someone who was simply angry. "What are you implying, little lady?"

"Not every god is equally powerful or equally willing to use it," she commented, "And not every fight is physical." The largest portion of her attack on the goddess had been mental, even secret. It was just bad luck that had gotten her caught, and one wrong move that got her thrown off when she was finally faced with a physical confrontation. But as she tried to think of a way to continue, she could only see contradiction in her actions and thoughts. She would challenge a goddess but she would run from a mortal, she needed something more convincing.
"I stopped fighting when I came here," she offered lamely, though it wasn't entirely false, and she looked more stubborn and sure of herself this time when he advanced, "I'm saying you're the coward for trying to challenge someone like me. You couldn't get away with more." She had no idea if he often came against lionesses like her but she could only guess from what she saw here and now.
"I bet you couldn't even face the goddess I almost defeated," she added, another thought coming to her mind.
