Manuela sighed as she dropped her bag and cane down on the plush zebra couch. It had taken enough to get her mother to let her go out on her own, even more to get any money from her. No maam, I won't get myself killed. No maam, I'm not going to get drugs. No maam, no maam. The questions were getting tiring. Suddenly just because she liked her privacy a little more than usual it meant she was going bad? She didn't understand how that worked, but it seemed to be how Estelle saw it.
She glanced up at the clock, her appointment was at 4:00, still about 20 minutes to go. The nail salon smelled a bit unpleasant, mostly a result of the vases stuffed with potpourri to unsuccessfully cover up the smell of polish and acetone. She fiddled with one close to her, it was fall themed, and it had a scent in it she liked. Without thinking that she might look odd Manny fished a few pieces out and began smelling each one close to her face, trying to identify the good one.

While chores sucked a**, allowance was pretty awesome, and Keres always knew how to spend the money she got. ...which meant she failed at saving, but hey, saving didn't get you manicures or jewelry RIGHT NOW.
Tucking her wings against her back, and throwing her cellphone into the tan canvas bag (which looked out of place with her more well put together appearance) that hung from her shoulder, the sphinx-girl pushed the door open and tinkled the bell above. With a general sweep of the area, Keres's feral eyes landed on Manuela for a moment, and a glint of familiarity entered her memory. She had sooooooooooooooo seen that girl before....
But should couldn't remember right off the bat, so instead, she gave a small shrug and sat down near-ish the plush couch, her height staying almost level despite her butt being on the ground. Feline bodies were awkward that way, and Keres would punch anyone who pointed it out. Rawr.
"Hi." Best greeting ever.

Manny glanced up from her handful of dried flowers like a kid caught in the cookie jar. "Oh crap," she muttered, dumping the stuff back in the jar, "Um, hi. That wasn't as weird as it looked, I swear." She felt herself blushing and coughed to try and cover it up, "One of them smelled really nice, I didn't know which." Nope, it still sounded weird. "I uh, have we met?" The girl looked vaguely familiar, well, more than vaguely because of her backside, but she couldn't place a name.
