Macha awoke all alone in the den, HanGeng must of left early this morning for whatever reason, she had yet to understand his full responsibilities as a Beta though now doubt she'd learn of them all in time. He had mentioned that he didn't think it wise that she kept residency in his den and that she should search and hunt down the packs mother; Reaction so that she may care for her in her den until she was old enough to dig out a den of her own.

Macha yawned and then peered about the den before focusing on the light outside. She rose and stretched, pushing all her weight onto her back end and stretching her forepaws, taking a step or two and pushing her weight forwards and stretching her back legs out in turn, flexing her toes before placing them firmly upon the ground. Feeling refreshed she felt, with HanGeng away she'd venture out and hunt down Reaction, seeing if she'd welcome into her den and provide her with a place to sleep until she had grown a little. HanGeng also seemed to think that she needed a female's influence in her life, though Macha wasn't so sure as to why, she enjoyed learning to hunt with the large silver dragon marked male.

Pushing forwards she trotted out of the den, the crow's claw swinging leisurely about her neck as she moved.

The female looked down at the mound of dirt and herbs that she had collected, and stolen away inside her den. Of course, they were for the pack, but she wouldnt let a perfectly healthy wolf deplete their sources for just anything.
She smiled, nodding, proud of herself.

Her pelt was the color of charcoal or soot, and her belly and legs were the color smoke from a flame. Black leopard spots dotted her back, a blue hue brightening them slightly.
She was the white angel of her family, while her sister Turbo had been the black sheep. Their pelts almost did reveal their true personalities.

Her bright blue eyes glittered, and she flicked a charcoal ear as a bug landed on it. She had been doing a good job as Pack Mother. She had been trying her damndest to help everyone through their ailments.
But by being the pack mother, she wasnt always sure of the other wolves who were in the pack. She was usually attempting to find medicinal herbs, or healing the sick.
If you were ever sick, she knew you for life. Otherwise, she wouldnt know how to place you.
She smiled happily, nodding once as she turned to exit the den. The sun warm on her face, she inhaled deeply the scent of the forest.
She loved her home. She couldn't imagine not going outside each morning to bathe in the light of this beauty.

Now.. What was she to do?

Macha walked to the edge of HanGeng’s den and peered about and a frown formed upon her brow, she couldn’t remember which way HanGeng has said Reaction’s den was. She knew where Haku’s was and HanGeng had said he though Haku like puppies so she reasoned that Reaction’s, being the pack mother, wasn’t far from Haku’s. So she picked up her blue marked paws and took of at a trot in the direction in which she’d guessed the females den would be.

It was a lovely autumnal day, the sun was warm upon her back and her black fur only absorbed it further, in summer this would have caused her some discomfort but as it was, the late autumn wind soon carried away an excess heat that was produced by her body. She picked up her paws a little more than necessary but the pleasant weather put a slight bounce in her stride.

She had come so way from HanGeng’s den now, for a pup at least, and she now stood close to the path that would take her to Haku’s den. She restrained a dying urge to go and see the orange marked male, instead she stood a moment and twitched her nose, trying to pick out any smells that may indicate in which direction she could head. A broad grin spread across her maw as she caught the scent of a female wolf and she twisted slightly to face the direction in which it had travelled to her from.

She leapt into action and trotted towards the scent, which grew stronger and stronger. In a short while her eyes came to rest upon a female, she hoped it was Reaction, not that she minded if it wasn’t but it’d save her some time in hunting down her quarry once again. She marched forward in her usual brazen manner and stared directly up at the female, declaring. ‘I am Macha. Are you Reaction?’

Reaction sat, and when the female pup strolled right up to her to ask her her name.. She couldnt help but smile.

"Well, darling, Yes. I happen to be Reaction. Who are you?"
The question was innocent enough, but she had a feeling this was Haku's new ward.
Well, Haku had come to her about it, and said that there was a new pup in the pack.
Of course, Reaction hadn't asked for her name, or what she looked like. She was mostly concerned with the new plants and stories of the pack members and such. God she loved the pack.

The heat did not bother the older female much. Her pelt was not as thick, as she had been raised in a very dry woodland area. Her pelt was the type to get thicker in winter.
Of course, soon it was due to snow. And the snow would bring the thick, warm pelt that kept her alive in the months.

She eyed the black female with blue tribal markings up her paws. Giving a gentle smile, she didn't seem the type to be rather bipolar.
If one was the least bit disrespectful, or showed a lack in trust, she would completely turn, and no longer give them the light of day.

And Reaction wasnt one to forgive easily.

Macha smiled up at the female, more because she had found her quarry than for any other reason. At the questioning of as to who she was she puffed her self out and announced, ‘I am Macha.’ rather ceremoniously and added, ‘HanGeng thinks now that I am reaching adolescence I should not sleep in his den anymore, he said it wasn’t right.’ The tone of her voice portrayed the confusion she felt. HanGeng was her trainer when it came to hunting and such things and she spend most of her time with him, why didn’t he see the logic in having her sleep in his den. He had insisted it wasn’t right for a wolf of her age to be staying in another male wolfs den, she had just scoffed at him though after a little protest, as was normal with Macha, she had come to Reaction.

‘He says you’re the pack mother, though I knew that already, but that I must come and see you and you will find me a den or something.’ She looked the smoky grey wolf with endless black eyes and a slight frown appeared upon her brow, ‘Plus he said you had lots to teach me.’ The frown dispersed momentarily as she declared brightly, ‘I like learning things and I’m good at learning too’ the frown returned once again as she questioned, ‘What have you to teach me?’

Macha fixed her eyes to that of the adult female and awaited an answer. It was not that Macha was disrespectful, only that she was young, eager and full of life. She wanted everything now and she had not yet learnt the art of self discipline.

She knew why HanGeng would have said that it was not fitting for a young girl to grow in a den of another male. He was respecting her honor, and Reaction could see it quite obviously. Of course, she didnt want to be too forward with the female, and just smiled.

"Why of course, darling. Why would you sleep in the den of a bigger male, if you could be protected by a female, and still keep your honor?"
She asked, standing and nudging the little girl a little.

"I do not think you are old enough to be in your own den however. I feel that maybe you should reside with me. I will teach you the ways of a healer."
She nodded with a firm look.
It was final, the pup would stay with her. Unless Macha wanted to disobey, in which case, if she did.. Reaction would turn down helping her all together. How she hated those who did not mind her.
She wasnt an alpha, no. But she was the healer. And to be healed, you had to have faith.

"Does that suit you?"

Macha cocked her head from one side to the other and answered slightly puzzled at Reactions question. ‘I can protect myself, that’s not why I sleep in his den its just that he trains me with hunting skills so its just,’ She searched for the right word, appearing to visually swill a collection of words about her mouth before spitting out, ‘convenient. I do not see how that has anything to do with honour?’ Macha was still young and rather too naïve perhaps for own good. Her mind was too focused in learning her hunting skills and other various skills that interested her to have learnt anything to do with the subtleties and customs that occur between the sexes.

‘But yes that suits me.’ She beamed up at the female, a healer? She’d teach her! Her words were drunk with excitement, ‘can we start now, I mean training, can you teach me things now, your not busy. Are you?’ She looked up at Reaction with hopeful eyes. Macha was much a tom boy and she enjoyed the ruff and tumble training with HanGeng but she also thirst for anything she though would be advantageous to know. Healing was a skill she believed worth having, for if she or other got hurt while hunting she could help to heal them.

Suddenly it dawned on her and her words came slowly, cautiously, ‘I’ll still have time to train with HanGeng as well, won’t I?’

"I'm sure." She answered when the pup said she could protect herself. That was laughable in a way, as pups should be guarded, and she was no different. But she smiled gently, her gentle heart not letting her be spiteful or cruel..Ever. She was kinder than her sister. She just knew it.

"Things that are not worked for, are not that important. You work for what you want to become in life. You'll learn, Macha, that life being convenient, doesnt mean that its the best thing for you."
She replied, her words wise. She had always been intelligent, and her mission to become a Shaman of the Trees had her being the absolute best she could be. Even though she knew, with the healing talent she posessed, she could achieve it.

"Oh Macha, such spirited youth should be rewarded and preserved." She giggled as she shook her head, swaying her tail side to side, throwing up dirt clouds as she did so.

"Of course we shall train as soon as possible. However at the moment, you must help me find a very important flower."
She nodded a bit.
First, before training, she needed to find the key ingredient to prevent nausea..Or what she thought could prevent it.

"But yes, a little less time to train such harsh things." She nodded, hoping the child took to the healing aspect. Though she knew, that Macha being destined for Alpha, she would eventually need that physical training.

Macha fixed her eyes onto Reaction, her stare so intense upon her subject she seemed almost vacant but she was listening intently. She wagged her tail and a distant star sparkled in her endless black eyes as the Pack Mother mentioned a flower than needed finding. ‘I’ll find it, you’ll see’ she declared but as Reaction answered her final question her tail stopped mid wag, stuck horizontally slightly to the right and a small frown furrowed her brow. ‘Less time to train in such harsh things?’ she echoed the words in her head but her training with HanGeng was more important to her than looking for flowers, the tom boy did not like the idea of having to give more time to searching for plants than tumbling about with HanGeng.

She still wore the frown upon her brow as she stared at Reaction, her eyes dancing over the adult wolf and something within her suppressed the urge to decline the female’s offer. She wanted to learn healing; she didn’t say there wouldn’t be any time at all to train with HanGeng, just a little less. Macha knew she must make sacrifice sometimes to get something better in the end. Feeling slightly proud with herself for coming to this conclusion she beamed up at Reaction and nodded. ‘Okay. Flower now, training after. What does the flower look like?’ with this the excitement of learning something new took hold of her again and her tail began to wag once again.

Reaction had a feeling deep down that Macha would find the plant in a heartbeat. If she did, that would be a plus to the pack..Someone who could learn quickly, and find the best plants.
But then she supposed there would be no real need for her.

She turned to the dense forest and looked behind her to make sure Macha knew to follow. She didnt want to have to turn back around to find a daydreaming pup.
But something about Macha said that she wasnt much of a daydreamer. She wanted to do things, not dream of them.
Reaction had been more of the dreamer of the family, though she had supressed the trait in hopes that no one would see her as weak or fruitless.

"The flower is white, and usually grows on shrubs and trees. So think tall."
She responded, smiling at the pup.
She liked how ready the pup was to learn and work. It would help her in the long run as an adult.

Macha watched as Reaction turned away from her and her den and began to walk towards the forest, Macha instinctively followed in a puppy like fashion the question as to why she should follow not really needing to be asked, Reaction was walking away into the forest where the flower probably grew thus Macha would follow her. Trotting along behind the female whose markings reminded her of a branch in winter, bare and white with blue snow falling across a grey sky she smiled almost automatically when reaction cast a glance over her shoulder, the smile symbolising her eagerness to please and that yes, she was following.

Reaction described the flower in question and Macha immediately focused her attentions of gazing up at every possible tree surrounding her until she forgot about her footing as she walked behind and stumbled forwards nose diving into the ground. She regained herself and shook herself off rather shocked at what had happened and looked about herself to make sure Reaction nor any onlooker saw her make a fool of herself, satisfied she trotted to close the gap that had formed between her and her teacher. With care now she planned her footing before casting her gaze up the trees in search of the flower until it crossed her mind. 'Do the flowers grow up a particular sort of tree? Is that where we are going?' Which effectively would make more sense to Macha than trying to walk and look up trees at the same time.

She smiled as the pup fell, and shook her head. Stopping, she gave a concerned look, though it held a playful tone behind it. She could tell the pup was not injured, and her willingness to do what Reaction said just made her smile.

"You okay, darling?"
She asked, before resuming her walk as the pup shook herself off. She was indeed looking for a certain tree.. She wasnt sure what it was called, but once you were close you could smell this absolutely delightful aroma.

"Just take a deep breath, and tell me when you smell flowers." She replied.

As Macha had stumbled she had looked about sure no one had seen her, not noticing Reaction had stopped when the insident had occurred but when she asked if she was okay she could only presume she had, Macha, not willing to admit that she had tripped over simply played along as if she hadn't heard the question and thus the insident would be forgotten. Though Reaction soon seem to forget and carry on walking forwards, further into the woods.

In response her to her question Reaction answered though this only puzzled Macha, how was smelling for flowers an answer to which tree it grew on, she frown at Reactions back. Though Macha often seemed scatter brained at time it was simply due to the fact that she generally spoke everything before she'd organised it in her head and put it into an order that made sense to others but in essence Macha was very logical. If she knew what sort of tree she was looking for she wouldn't keep having to look up at them all the time, hindering her further was her size as a pup. But as Reaction informed her, she'd simply start smelling 'flowers.'

Disregarding her sense of sight for the task at hand then she focused on another preliminary sense for a wolf, her sense of smell. Her nostrils flared as she inhaled deeply and she took in all the scent that filled her, smells of the forest; foliage, moss and lichen, woody bark, sap all encases with the scent of earth. Processing the smells she still couldn't detect any floral notes, she sighed, her principal and strongest sense being her sight she was now having to develop her usage of smell. With this understanding though she started to enjoy the challenge; having to develop other sides of herself and thus carried on now with more enthusiasm truly coming to appreciate the scents of the forest.
