[AIM LOG between Randy (Adetokunbo) and Seaki (Janja)]
Adetokunbo| The wild dog stared down at his lake from uptop his boulder. He'd been doing this more and more lately. Staring at it, wondering. He was the supposed God of this lake. The one who kept it pure but the call of kinship was calling him. He hadn't had someone else in a very long time.
And he'd never been in love. He pushed himself up and looked skyward. Who would watch the water if he left...? Who would stop it from becoming poison?
He picked himself up and allowed himself to slip down from the large rock. He began to walk toward where he knew her den was. Maybe the lake could fend for its own waters. He picked up speed, calling out to her when he got close.
Janja| Janja had let herself fall asleep outside the den with the rays of the day, only dozing. Half asleep, really. The den, she had thought, was getting too small. It was the den of a lone female, but her daughter was now fully grown.
A call arose her from the dizing state - a call she ws so familiar with. She called back, her mind still reeling.
She couldn't move from here. She had a mate... Maybe she could take him. They were in the process of traveling, or getting ready to. Uzuri was speaking to the strange Hyena they had helped - Xx'ami-da or somehting. They would quietly chat amoungst themselves for long hours, after all.
With a sigh, she looked over the grasses and the small watering hole to atch her mate arrive.

Adetokunbo| His paw pads hit the ground as he picked up speed to get to her. That call was far stronger was far more important then the lakes and rivers of Africa. That call was the most important thing in his entire life. He skidded to a halt and slowed as he came toward the den.
He smiled as soon as he saw her. His mouth opening up into a grin. "Janja..." He greeted as he bowed his head to come closer to her. "I... thought I should come to see you. Ah I was just... protecting the water today. It is doing well."
Janja| Janja gavea smile when her mate came to her and touched her nose to his. "That's good," she nodded. The fear welled up in her chest though. What if he wouldn't come with them? What if...
Her smile gave a bit more of a strained as she thought of her pup and her thought of leaving this place without him. She was stuck, but she hoped, prayed to any god that would listen that he would come with them. Would he leave his lake? Was she important enough?
The thoughts ran through her head quickly - she was so insecure, having been abandoned by someone important to her - her parents that is... But it mattered not. Would she abandon her pup so easily if he did not come? Would she abandon her mate so easily?
"I've just been laying here," she commented lightly, trying to ignore the thoughts that had quickly invaded her mind.

Adetokunbo| The male smiled wider when their noses touched and he licked the tip of hers. "Oh? Were you thinking about something." He came to rest beside her, his head still up and alert to their surroundings.
A hesitation. "I have. About the lake... I've been watching it... and I think that... perhaps the lake is safe now. No one has come to disturb it and I have seen no...... well it hasn't become dangerous."
Janja| A quirked smile twitched at the corners of her lips when he licked her nose. "Mm, just a little," she responded with a sigh. She leaned closer to him, opting to rest her head on his paws.
Dark eyes looked up to her brightly colored mate, a small bit of confusion lacing her eyes. "So you'll stay with me?" she asked, hope lacing her voice a bit.

Adetokunbo| "What about?"
The male's ears twitched and he glanced over to her. How could he resist that voice and those eyes? He wanted more then anything to stay with her. To belong to a family. "... Yes... My lake is fine upon its own... and I need to stay with you to keep the water pure. Just a few days ago a pregant female hyena came to my lake and drank from it. What if you were to have pups? I would need to make sure your water stayed clean and--"
His fur darkened as he ducked his head. "Not... not that we're going to HAVE pups. I mean... we'd have to find a den... and... well it..." His ears flattened back. What had he been thinking? Pups?! They'd just declared themselves mates and already he was thinking so far ahead!
Janja| A smile crossed Janja's face, relief, utter releif. "I was thinking about plans for the future. Uzuri and Xx'ami-da, a hyena, were planning on starting a pack together. They've been talking about it for a while. They need it. We need it," her ears flattened as well, and she hid herself closer to her mates chest.
"I think we should go. We'll be able to raise a family in peace..."

Adetokunbo| "A pack...? With a hyena?" He seemed uncertain before settling. "A pack... I haven't had one in a very longtime. My pack died.... The water turned deadly...." He shifted closer to her and licked between her ears.
"Raise a family? Pups of our own?"
Janja| "He's quite nice... " She told him. The male hyena was quite sweet, almost childish, but she knew she was far younger than the male. He had been an adult before she was born - seen things she would never see.
"Yees, Pups of our own," not that Uzuri would be any less important to her - Uzuri, as far as she was concerned, was her first and oldest pup.

Adetokunbo| "I would like to decide that myself." He responded gruffily. She was now his daughter after all. If she was going to be persued by a hyena he at leasted wanted to meet him. "We'll be in his pack? Who will lead?"
He paused and stared forward. Pups... That sounded amazing. "... You... when? We have to find a den and a water source.."
Janja|Janja only gave a nod. "Uzuri and Xx'ami-da will lead it. You'll meet him later..." She gave a small nod. "The details will come later, from Uzuri. I think she'll be a wonderful leader," she spoke proudly over her only daughter (as of now, at least...).
"We'll find a den within the pack lands. The area chosen has two large lakes and a few rivers going through. Uzuri picked it out..." She quircked a smile. "I'm sure we can find a great den there, yeah?"

Adetokunbo| "I'd like to meet him as soon as I can. I'm not worried about her leadership... is she mates with this hyena?"
He perked up at the mention of the lakes. "It does sound wonderful... I ....are we close to the area? Perhaps we can start search now."
Janja|Haha, no. She has a mate though. Ade, I think is name is..." She shook her head. "Leaders don't have to be mates... Her mate is on the council though," She gave a slight nod.
"We are close, I don't think it will take too long to get there..." Janja stretched her legs and nodded, before pushing herself up. "Lets go, then?"

Adetokunbo| "Ooh... does she? How come I never met him? I didn't even know she had one." He hated being out of the loop on things. "I see then... well that's... good I suppose. I thought it'd be strange... a wild dog and a hyena?"
He stood up and shook his fur out before taking a few steps after her. "Oh yes. It'll be good to get first choice on dens, won't it?" He wagged his tail before coming up beside her. They were really going to have cubs. How grand!
