There seemed to be a strange and subtle liveliness in a rustic male's step today, something that had been visible for quite a few days past now. Seeking temporary rest in the heated innards of the headquarters a while back, he had come across a rather mellow kit. 'Weekend Getaway' she had called herself as she laid down next to him on the sofa without a thought. A feeling he had thought was lost seemed to return suddenly then. And while he rose to a sit much taller than her, he began a sermon full of relentless dark disclosure.
The kit, mostly uninterested, had still listened to the entire thing and offered him a simple 'okay' when he had finished. In the past, such things would have likely bothered him. And yet, he was unfazed this time. He merely nodded his farewell and left her. That meeting had sparked an interest in him. Perhaps his mission could still be continued after all. As long as fools kept bringing more and more innocents into the world to be destroyed, perhaps he really wouldn't mean nothing.
Slowing in his trek, Ikuinen looked up the canopy of the trees he now traveled under. "Vain katselen..." The words left his maw slowly. A talent so long unused, his song was very soft. "... kun menet pois. Vain katselen..." Empty eyes remained fixated as he halted completely. For as long as he could still remember, the trees had been his only audience for such performances.

Keeekekekeke!
Black fur bristled with a striking sheen against the midday sun as the cackling kitsu darted through the woods. The air, crisp and cool enough for a shiver, drew itself in the male's nostrils and his wide grin with a slight whistle. And it rushed through his form like invisible electricity, pumping his legs harder and faster in his run. Just where was he going? He didn't know! Nor did he honestly give a crap. The past few days had been a deathly bore, and the kitsu named Soul was bound and determined to find some source of entertainment.
Skidding to a halt, Soul suddenly lept up into the tree branches like some rabid squirrel. What was that? He heard something! Squinting his neon eyes, he peered about the dying and brittle foliage for the source. Maybe he'd be lucky, and that damned kimono boy would cross his path. Or any of Rev's kin, for that matter. They all had that delicious spark of rebellion that Soul loved to test and taunt.
So needless to say, the black kitsu nearly sagged in his disappointment to see just a nameless stranger strolling by. Pft, and singing horribly as well. Curling his tails, Soul leaned forward and groaned a complaint.
"Why lookie lookie! If it's not Autumn himself wandering the dead woods. Trying to outrun Winter now, are you?"

The song drifting between the branches grew steadily louder as his vocal cords warmed and grew used to the still familiar act. "Ne häviää." Eyes remained fixed above still, unblinking, unwavering. "Vain kuuntelen. Askeleet va-" In a split second, the melody ceased, it's remnants echoing around the forest shortly before fading into nothing. Slowly he lowered his chin, lips set in their usual, falsely polite line. Ikuinen could not deny that he had been snuck up on. A moment's weakness only.
Stiffly he turned, eyes once again rising to find the source of the interruption. He offered no outward signs of what he might be thinking now. So very few were worthy of that privilege. "Perhaps," was his short response. Merely an introduction and hardly revealing. He wasn't one to give straight answers. "But I wonder...." Lowering his gaze, he began to step off to the side, only stopping when he'd found a dry pile of leaves on which to sit.
"You certainly aren't colored like a monkey. Are you merely afraid your paws will get muddy?"

Hm, just what speech of tongue was that?
Smirking crookedly and tilting an ear, the nosy Soul tried to decipher the song but failed as the sound collapsed. At least there was some satisfaction to its end. But then, the kitsu he stared down had turned his head. Soul had to admit that his expression seemed...hollow. But there was no hiding the tint of what...embarrassment? Maybe insult to the darker kitsu's rude interruption. Too bad.
With some pause, the male shook off the stare with a scoff before chuckling soundly. Oh, but where was this other one going? Eyes stayed focused as the orange hued male walked casually to the side; Soul keeping quiet the whole time. That is until the singer decided to open his mouth.
Monkey?
Soul ground his fangs momentarily before throwing his neck back in a laugh. "Ahaa! Autumn made a funny, how unexpected." Gathering his form close, Soul sprang to another tree and used its lower branches as a way to the ground. All the closer to this other fellow. "Mud as my foe? What a pathetic story that would be. And what of you?" He lifted a brow and once near enough, flicked the patch of leaves with one of his tails. "Fear of standing in the company of others? Why.....how submissive of you."

A soft breath puffed from his lips, something that could have been the start of a laugh were it any Kitsu but this one. Instead he merely turned his head away for a moment, eyes shutting to the already rather offending presence. But it's not as if Ikuinen was frustrated just yet. No, he was in far too decent a state for that.
"Don't you think it's a bit too early to expect things about me?" he asked casually, his eyes sliding open, but remaining as blank as before. "I'm afraid we have just met, though it is a pity we hadn't met beforehand." The male only made another movement when he felt the brush of a tail rather close to his person. He blinked and turned his head again, but no more.
"I'm also fairly sure sitting is not a sign of weakness. Is there a reason why I should be uncomfortable?" Very subtly, he quirked a brow.
This adult was a very rare find indeed. Though he could not say this conversation was overly intellectual, it was interesting. If nothing else, that was the only reason he had yet to move on.
