The Jackal she had come upon had been right, she had been welcomed in to this new and unusual pride with open paws, so to speak. She was learning their ways and absorbing the wonderful heritage, the odd customs, all the things she never knew existed, it was very exciting!
The problems with all of this excitement was that she hadn't found anyone to tell about it, everyone knew the customs already and she didn't want to wander up to some random stranger and tell them what she had learned that day, so today she was on a mission, a mission to make a friend that she could ramble at and inform about all of the wonderful things she had learned today!
She could also do with someone to play with,s he was still young, though an adult sure, she still wanted to wrestle a little and maybe prod, someone who would laugh with her and enjoy being young and silly at times.
BUT FIRST! She needed to find some lions to befriend.

Poor Homutifu. Things just weren't going his way today, it seemed. He'd woken up with a crick in his neck, shivering in cold because he preferred sleeping alone and ended up in shadow most of the morning without the sun to warm stiff joints. He'd hit his head on the low ceiling of the hole in the temple wall he'd used as a doorway, when he could have used the taller one that would have made him walk a little farther. And, to top it off, he hadn't eaten yet and was almost too impatient to go catch his own food.
Life was not fair to old men, he decided as he padded out in the light and headed for the water for a drink, his rumbling stomach and aching body making him grumpier than usual. Even if he wasn't all -that- old... he certainly felt like it, and he was gonna let anyone he met know it. See, this is why he needed a wife. Other males had someone to hunt for them, bring them things, clean up after them... all he had was himself, another unfairness that life loved to heap on him.

The jaunty young females ears perked at the sound of approaching paws and her peach coloured head turned to watch the older lion. Of course, she didn't know this was an older lion, her perception of age was dodgy at best. He was a member of the pride which meant he had to be friendly. With that thought in mind she made a beeline for Homu plonking herself down in his pathway, and his way to the water.
"HAI!" She grins her pale pink eyes wide and curious, "I'm Mziwaziwa, i just came here recently, who are you?" She grins her tail wriggling happily. If only she had known this was an older, grumpy guy. She maybe wouldn't have sat in his path, well she probably wold have any way if only to give him a hug to make him smile!

The older male stopped short with a frown as the female bounded up to him and set herself exactly in his path. His frown melted into a scowl as he listened to her, his black mood getting worse.
Foolish female... what did she think she was doing? Did she think he was some sort of young rascal with nothing better to do than talk to a curious young lady? He hmphed softly as he looked around her, longingly at the water, before sighing to answer.
"My name is Homutifu, and I think you've put yourself in my way, um, miss. If you'll excuse me, I would like to go get a drink." He made a move to step around her, eyes lowered to try and not catch hers, in an effort to stave off any further interaction. Maybe she'd take the hint? But then, his luck was never that good. Obviously.

Mziwaziwa looks around at the water behind herself, "OH! I am sorry, I'll come with you." She beams and walks beside the older male her tail tilting up over her back. "Were you born here mister Homutifu?" She blinks owlishly her ears flickering happily. "I just came here recently. Everything is so lovely!" She purrs keeping in step with him, far from taking any hint that he wanted her gone.
"I'v been learning so much of late! i didn't even know such a world existed! It's so, well, beautiful!" She purrs wriggling her tail happily. "I'm still meeting everyone though, theres so many lions here! A very nice jackal lead me here you know? She was very nice, I hope i see her again." She rambles on as they approach the water, pleased to have found someone, with a name she now knew, and there fore classed as a friend now, to talk to, and tell about all the joys of her young life.
