Soulless white eyes closed slowly as masquerade stood in the pouring rain. She was doing something she rarely did, singing .. her very beautiful voice rising and falling with the sweet songs of the storm as it passed through. She stood posed, mane plastered to her sleek brown neck, and small brown body stretched out. Wing raised to the skies. She was beautiful, boy did she know it, and her voice was one of an angle trapped in the demonic body, yet she never sang in front of anybody. Lightning crackled across the sky, momentarily turning the night into day and the loud clap of thunder that followed drowned out her song. Yet still she sang, her eerie song, one her mother had taught her when she was still young.
Gott weiß ich will kein Engel sein"Translatoion: Who in their lifetime is good on Earth will become an angel after death you look to the sky and ask why can't you see them
Only once the clouds have gone to sleep can you see us in the sky we are afraid and alone
God knows I don't want to be an angel
They live behind the sunshine separated from us, infinitely far they must cling to the stars (very tightly) so they don't fall from the sky
Only once the clouds have gone to sleep can you see us in the sky we are afraid and alone
God knows I don't want to be an angel
Only once the clouds have gone to sleep can you see us in the sky we are afraid and alone
God knows I don't want to be an angel

'God knows I don't want to be an angel...' Intrigued by a sentiment that was not unfamilar to him, Aveshar lifted his head from his meal and moved toward the sound of the distant voice. Alternately made to seem closer, then farther away, depending on the wind's direction, Aveshar found himself moving toward a mare he knew rather well, but had not seen in sometime. She was a decent trek away, but it was worth it to consider the delicate form in all her rain-soaked glory. "A lovely song." He rumbled when she was through, carefully removing himself from the foliage that attempted to wind itself in his long mane an ensnare his powerful legs. He flicked a vine or two away with a dismissing movement of his tail, tilting his head as he considered her. "Hello again, Masquerade... You look exceptionally well, despite this weather." Though flattery was one of his weapons, he did not use it against this potential foe, this somewhat ally. He spoke the truth as they both knew it, as he would do no less. Not to Masquerade, nor her mother. They did not need his lies, so he did not use them. He told the younger mare the truth, she was lovely.

The female jerked when the voice suddenly sounded behind her, Masq hated being caught singing, she felt like it would make others see her as weak, something she never wanted to be.
She turned slowly towards the larger stallion white yes meeting his own. She hardly saw Aveshar, most o their meetings had been when she was still a foal, and she had detested his attachment to the weaker lessers, but as she'd grown she'd found out how much one could use the weak creatures when they believed you to be less dangerous to them.
Her tail curled around her leg, and a slight smirk quirked at the corner of her muzzle "thank you, though I dare say I don't like being caught singing." She smirked devilishly at him "buuuut, i guess I can give you a pass seeing as you didn't know. You look might fine yourself, considering the weather," true masquerade loved this weather, the power of the storm as it drummed through her body nearly managed to make her drunk.
"What brings you out into the storm to find me? other than my song." She cocked her head at him slightly, eyes unblinking for the moment.

Aveshar smiled faintly. Oh, it seemed she didn't want to share such a sound with the rest of the world. Well, her bad luck then, that he had been passing this way and caught the melody. He had always liked beautiful things, it was why he collected the weaker ones and kept an eye on the stronger. He smiled at her words and her confidence. "So sorry to disappoint you, in my defense, I did not venture out solely because of your song... I was merely nearby when I caught a few words and wondered at it's source." He gave a shrug and a stretch of his wings, shaking some of the water off of them as he folded them tight to his back once more. The weather was of little concern to him, he'd flown in storms far worse, afterall... He bowed his head faintly in thanks at the compliment. "Your words are an honor to me.. And I have a tendency to wander in all weathers, rain is no deterrent to me... Hunting, traveling, it is all the same..." He gave a slight shrug. "Though if you must know, there is a certain stallion in particular who I am seeking..." He gave a wicked smile. "Who will most likely not enjoy being found."

Masquerade watched him, another crack of lightning light the night sky into day and she tilted her head back grinning, she had once feared flying in a storm such as this, but now she stretched her wings high itching for the glory of flight as mother nature released her anger against the weak of the world. She stopped caring, or maybe even realizing that he was there as she let a low hum that grow quickly roll in her throat. She arched back rearing slightly into a levade, just in time for the loudest clap of thunder she'd heard all night, enough to make the ground tremble.
Her hooves touched the ground lightly and she blinked her eyes open finally realizing his was still there. Masquerade let out a high laugh "pardon me, but I do quiet enjoy the glory of mother nature's hatred and anger." Her tail curled back and forth behind her, she shook her mane and twitched her wings on her back.
"As for this stallion, whom is it you seek Aveshar?" Her eyebrow raised gracefully over glowing eyes that so mirrored his own.

He couldn't help the curl of his lip, little more then an amused smirk, as he watched her sway to the music of the storm, her movements graceful and intriguing as she reared then slowly returned to earth. Her attention returning to him made him nod ever so faintly. "No pardon is needed." He replied with a shake of his head and another stretch of his wings. He liked a good storm as much as anything, falling trees, whipping branches, frightened foals. The rage of the storm was something he understood all too well, something familiar to him. He too reveled in the anger of nature. "You are quite a beauty to behold, I am fortunate to witness it." He did not speak untruths in such matters, they would offer him no pleasure and give him no benefit. With Masquerade, and her dam Nightshade, he had never had to lie. They were beautiful. Kalona mares of power. Willful and unafraid. Allies, friends, of a kind, almost. "His name is Ballad, though it is of little consequence..." He shrugged, tail curling around his side. "A groundwalking stallion, pale blue... A living song, quite the unusual creature."
