"They're going to catch their deaths."

"Just because it's not ninety degrees doesn't mean they're going to get sick, Bob." Pep rolled her eyes to her husband who was standing at the side of the pool. The pool was shallow, and she was standing in it. She walked over to where he was standing and held up her arms. "Let me have Jean. You can take Mikey in."

"We don't know if they like swimming." Ever the pessimist, Bob handed down the horned baby regardless. Jean-Paul stared down at the water, mouth wide, as Mommy dipped his toes into it. How strange! It was like a bath, but much bigger! He kicked and giggled.

"Well, he seems to like it." Pep smiled at her grouchy man, who proceed to carefully move down the steps into the pool. Mikhael stared at the water as it rose up, pulling his feet up. ENK!

Lounging around in his home land had never been the epitome of fun. Kyte could spend hours sleeping, daydreaming, or doing whatever he so would, but on this particular day it had all seemed droll. With the sheep attended, and his home barren of other tasks which ordinarily would need attention, there was nothing left to do but go for a venture. And why not? The time was right, and the prompting influence of the old man he called Poei had been intense enough to convince him that his young children deserved more than days rolling haphazardly on the floor of his home while Kyte worked his days away willingly. Quality time, Poei would insist, and Kyte agreed.

What had possessed him to venture to one of the swimming pools in the external communities was well beyond him. The thought of water brought a smile to his face. All children needed to know how to swim. It was a basic tenant of growing up that child should know how to swim, or at least become accustomed to the idea of water surrounding them.

Liwanu stared, wide-eyed and entranced as they passed the entry way into the bundling pool yard - children and families interacting and enjoying themselves quite thoroughly. His small jaw opened, his nose wriggling joyously. It looked enticing, and new! Ever the adventurous sort, he was nearly ready to leap from Kyte's arms to the ground if it meant he could crawl his way to the edge of the blue splash-y thing everyone seemed to be having such fun in. He puckered his lips, burring loudly as he grasped the rough fabric of Kyte's vest, crawling upward to peer over his shoulder at his brother, who had the misfortune of being contained in a back-carrying case.

Lokni looked up at the dark-skinned boy, pulling his pale hand from his mouth. The cloud about his head shook faintly, the roll of thunder clattering from it as he felt a bit of motion from the large body that had catered him from the reservation to the pool well beyond it.

"How am I supposed to do this?" Kyte murmured as he knelt down, setting Liwanu on the ground so that he could fetch his other ward. He'd slipped the back case off, unbuckling Lokni from it and hoisting him out, the small child adorned in silly little blue swim trunks which matched his brother's in that each were plastered with a picture of a large yellow duck on one leg.

Kyte shifted, setting the bag on the bench he had knelt next to. He had only turned his back a moment, but before he had turned back to where he had set his unruly dark-haired son, he noticed the boy was gone. His eyes grew wide as he nearly jumped up, following the trail until he noticed the small boy crawling off towards the edge of the pool where two parents rested, introducing their young children to the water themselves.

"Liwanu, don't you dare!"

At the warning to the adventurous Liwanu, Pep looked up. She was friendly, and a bit nosy, and spotted the boy heading her way.

"Oh no, you better wait!" She told him, looking over him towards what she assumed was his father. "If he gets too close, I'll grab him." It was always good to warn a parent before you touched one of their children.

Jean-Paul watched the dark boy with wide eyes. Oh my! How strange was this! Another little person, like him and his brother! He hadn't had much of a chance to interact with other babies, something his mother protested against. But Daddy was always worried about them getting sick. He clapped and squealed, splashing the water. The other baby should come over!

If only his brother could be so happy. Mikey had crawled as far up on his father as he could, clinging and whimpering. He didn't like the water very much, and would undoubtedly soon be showing his displeasure to everyone.

Since his wife was watching out for the escaping baby, Bob just patted his own child and watched. A man alone with two babies at this sort of a place was bound to be tough, expecially if one of them was adventurous.

Liwanu had pressed forward, barreling like a four-legged animal until he came to a sudden halt. He'd slipped up in his crawling step, flopping flat onto his stomach in front of the edge of the pool, the tip of his fingers not even coming near the water when he reached. He snorted uncomfortably, rolling over in time to catch a glimpse of Pep before he'd felt his body lifting. He'd been caught. Aw, shucks. He'd only wanted to see the blue splash-y liquid in person.

"Thank you." Kyte heaved as he lifted the boy, having covered the ground with a bit of confidence. It had been a relief to at least know someone may have handled the matter were he a bit too slow. What a mortifying thought. He'd only turned his back for a second. "This one. Never sits still no matter what I tell him to do." He shook his head in an exhasperated manner, fidgeting as the tanned boy floundered aimlessly in his grasp.

Lokni was disinterested in the matter, having noticed two individuals perhaps no bigger than himself or his unkempt sibling. A smile crept across his pasty face as he extended a hand, bending is fingers to touch against his palm in a repeated motion. He understood such a thing to be hello - or so that had been the motion many people had given to him in his small mind.

"Oh, I understand. Jean's very rambunctious too." Pep smiled and kissed the baby on the top of the head, between his horns. The baby giggled and swiped at her face. "It must be a workout, having them both out." By himself, at least. She was glad her Husband was with her, even if he just took the quiet baby and wandered off most of the time.

Jean-Paul stared up at the other babies with wide eyes for a moment, then his eyes crinkled up with a large grin. He waved up with a fat baby hand, mirroring the pale baby's gesture. Yes, hello! You should come down!
