Cadenza De Luca could not be more happy to be let out of class. It was her last course of the day and her fingers were already itching to feel the strings of her cello. Perhaps she's compose today, something to pass the time-- in the largest of the music rooms, of course, where she would be sure to attract the most amount of attention-- until the evening meal, after which she would need to concentrate on less important(to her) things, such as homework. But for now, she had several glorious hours of the illusive thing known as 'free time'. As the tone sounded to signal the end of class, the teen held her already gathered books to her chest and moved as quickly as she could for the door.
Unfortunately, the ease with which her hands and fingers moved upon her instrument did not translate to ease of walking with her feet upon the floor. She didn't so much trip and stick, the sole of her boot not quite having enough space between it and the polished floor as she took a step forward, and she skidded as she rounded the corner of the hallway, narrowly avoiding smashing her face into the wall only be instead knocking into another person before she was able to right herself.
"Oh my goodness!" she gasped out, hands flying to her mouth as her books dropped.

Vera had slipped out of class slightly ahead of everyone else, as was her normal procedure. She had no plans for the rest of the day - perhaps she'd...Hm. Well, she could always reread her more than slightly battered collection of Lovecraft stories....Then again, given what had happened the other night in the third floor study room, Vera was suddenly unsure if reading about Elder horrors was such a good idea.
Any further speculation was interrupted rather suddenly as the girl was abruptly slammed into a wall. A sharp crack was heard, causing Vera to wince. She'd probably broken a pencil or two in the impact, and that...Well! With a narrowing of her eyes, Vera turned to face the other student.
It was then that the dropped books landed on her foot, causing Vera to tightly clench her teeth and close her eyes, hand clasped tightly around a pencil, not quite ready to throw it. "Are you done?" she ground out, cracking open an eye to glare rather balefully at Cadenza.

"I am so sorry!" Cadenza gasped out, hands fluttering about her face, as if she were drying her nails. "I didn't even see you there, oh my goodness! I was just moving along, blissfully unaware as you please. Just oh my, let me help! Are you hurt? I certainly didn't mean to run into you like that..." She bent down and began to gather her books, prattling on in her usual fashion. Once Cadenza got going, there was little that would slow her down. "Let me walk with you down to the nurses office!" the cellist blurted as she stood, holding her books to her chest again. "Please, it's the least I can do. This science book probably broke your toe or something, and I really just feel awful about it."
This was not good, at all. Cadenza lived and breathed on making connections with people, and this was not the most stellar introduction she'd ever given. The girl probably hated her, and that just would not do! Cadenza De Luca did not have enemies(well maybe a few, but really, they were just jealous), and amends needed to be made.

Vera clenched her jaw again as Cadenza began chattering. If one listened very closely, they might actually hear her teeth grinding together. But the other girl was talking, so the motion would go unnoticed by anyone (except Vera's dentist, perhaps). While the cellist thrived on connecting with people, Vera most emphatically did not, and so she tried to think of a way to make her stop and go away, other than glaring (something complicated by the pain), or stabbing her with a pencil (Vera had no desire to spend time in counselling again, however).
And so she experimentally wiggled her toes, figuring that if she was fine, Cadenza would leave her alone. This motion caused her hand to spasm when her big toe refused to move correctly. "If it would make you feel better," she half-gasped and half-ground out, hardly waiting for Cadenza to finish retrieving her books before limping off quickly in the proper direction.

"So sweet of you, to worry about how I'm feeling when your poor toes are probably all black and blue and in pieces!" Cadenza patted Vera on the shoulder-- or at least would have, if the other girl hadn't already started hobbling off, so her hand just sort of awkwardly hit the air a few times before she realized that Vera had already moved away from that space. "Really, I should help you walk, don't you think? What if you hurt your foot even more? And if you fell and hit your head again... Well, I just don't want to think about it. A broken toe is one thing, but a broken head is entirely another, don't you think?"
The cellist tsk tsk'd, clucking her tongue against the roof of her mouth, and looped her arm through Vera's as neatly as she could, given that they were walking, and not very gracefully at that. "Really, please, let me help. I feel just awful and-- goodness, my manners! Where are they? I'm Cadenza De Luca-- you might already know that though, I'm so silly about introducing myself-- and who are you?"
