The meeting with Oberon was probably the most amusing meeting she'd had yet, since the time she ran into her childhood friends, Meshach and Rowenya. Of course, Meshach was still a pain in the a** but he was still her friend, one way or another, and obviously, his sweet, stubborn sister was her best friend of friends. Chuckling, Blackfire hurried quickly back to where she dwelled with her father, hoping to make it home before her father noticed she was slightly late.
In any case, though, while she never saw real fairies (maybe she just didn't believe in them enough), she had had a fun, relaxing day for once, and she would forever hold it in her memory for the days to come. Well, at least she'd have good memories to ground herself if she ever lost her "sight" for future happenings! As she glanced up to check the sun's position, making sure the moon had yet to make its appearance, she quickened her pace. She was sad not to have encountered either Rowenya or Meshach, but they could wait. Right now, her life was on the line if she didn't get home!
Windflame would be making new scars on her body on top of old scars if this kept up, and that was the last thing she wanted right now--more scars on top of old scars. Oberon was a nice distraction, but it would be nice to see some old friends, too... Her thoughts roamed as she wandered along the path to her home, careful to ensure her hooves didn't leave any prints that might lead some curious unwanted guests to her home; her father was far from "kind" these days... she constantly wished there was a mare out there who could at least help to control his demon blood...!

Good lord, time had flown.. It seemed like just yesterday Faolen had been a colt himself. Nipping at his mother, brother, father, a tree, anyone that came close. Not to cause pain but just because that was the sort of brat he had been when he was growing up. Times had changed. His herd was massive, his friends were off having babies of their own.. It was just unusually quiet right now… At least in the matter of having contact with other people.
Not that long ago he’d spent the day with Oberon, a flutter with a rather unusual belief and carriage… The thoughts of Obe made him laugh and the booming sound echoed around the empty field he was in. Well, at least he was pretty sure it was empty.. He’d not checked. A piece of clover hung from the corner of his mouth. It’d be the last he’d get until Spring reared it’s head because of the cold coming.. Even what he had was withered and faded, but it was better than nothing. A deep sigh welled up, so strange after the boom of laughter. Fall was often so very depressing. It was a count down to the time to stay home with loved ones, but without those loved ones near or one of your own.. What was the point?
Faolen had continued his walk for quite aways now when both ears twitched back and forth in confusion.. There was someone else around, maybe not really close but the scent was there. Faol almost tripped over his own feet when he realized the scent was familiar to him, and that kalona was all over the place. He’d never met a kalona before just scented where they had been before.. It wasn’t a pleasant thing… If a friend was in trouble, oh saints and stars… It had best not be that. Lifting his head high and calling out loudly, “Oi! Is there someone near? I can smell ye bu’ I canna sight ye.”

She glanced around, recognizing the voice... or at least, the oddities in that voice. She knew this Soquili. She turned, heading toward where she had last heard his voice. "Faolen!" she called, smiling brightly as she came across the familiar face. She hadn't seen him in... who know how long? Weeks? Months? Years? Well, they certainly couldn't count the years, but the months felt like years.
There was only one stallion she knew who had that accent, that funny sounding voice of his... her friend Faolen. She trotted about, trying to find him. She was already late, what could it hurt to greet a friend? Faolen was the only other Soquili she knew who lived close to where she lived--though of course he didn't know that--so this was a rather exciting discovery. Blackfire was surprised at herself, really, now that she thought about it. Why was she so excited? Maybe it was just because she hadn't seen Faolen in such a long time.
Yeah, that had to be it. Yep.
