Haosin Drennis didn't have much other than his rank - even though it seemed like everyone he knew had their own little place or hideaway. Lady Emma of Bainbridge had a library, Vii had the Waning Vestal, the Imperator had his ships and whatever Imperial palace he'd made himself. Skutz had the Training Dimension. It appeared that he was the only one to have a place to stay that was so small, so meager.

Howie had a little clearing in the woods near his headquarters. It didn't seem a very comfortable place to others, all there was to sit on was a log - and that was crawling with all manner of bugs and insects. But he had been raised in woods like these and every single tree around him, every single bush or shrub reminded him of his adopted family. It was torture being away from them, but once he'd become a man... no Faun would keep a full grown human in any case. He couldn't go back, and that thought drove him mad. He would never see his brothers, his sisters. Or his wonderful mother! Just how did the Lieutenant live like that? He never knew.

This log was the only home he had now, other than the camp, but the camp was horrible. The camp was a collection of sweaty, clothed humans (he had never thought himself one) and sometimes elves, but never any Fauns. Or rather, never any that would admit to loving the feel of the grass against their skin or the sound of music in their ears. Or alcohol! He hadn't had a drop in days and it was driving him mad!

Mad he definitely felt, as he sat on that log, hoping desperately for some sort of lightning bolt to strike him down now so he could die and go on to some better life than this one. So he could see Pan in the Clouds' home like the Faun priests had taught him. (Unlike the Lieutenant, he believed those tales and stories without question.)

Dameon felt screwed at the moment he had fallen from his airplane and his chute hasn't deployed yet. He had yet to scream he had a code don't scream until you're about 100 ft close to the ground. Up until now he had been pulling his chute cord nothing had happened he was now about 90 ft above the clearing he started screaming "NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN!" .just about then his chute deployed he was still falling fast and whoever he landed on would be hurting for awhile just his luck he hit Drennis right on the horns.

((Yeah, I'm gonna claim veto power on that one.))

He had been laying down on the log looking straight up when the tiny dot above his head had started to get bigger and bigger. At one point, when it was barely identifiable, it had begun screaming in frantic German. He stood on top of the log now, and as Daemon fell right in front of him he used all the strength he had to hit the man and ended up making him hit the ground faster - not as if he wasn't falling fast enough. If enemy soldiers were falling from the sky, who was he to stop them from reaching the dirt?

((kay sorry on that I meant to say I was going to land on him))
Dameon got hit in the stomach with considerable force and hit the ground kicking up considerable amounts of dirt and breaking a rib somewhere in the process. He simply decided to stay down he was beat and probably not welcome here anyway "hey anyone here a medic" he said trying his luck in German, English, French, and Spanish.

((It's fine.))

Hmm. None of those languages were Gaian. It didn't appear as though this man actually was his enemy... now he felt somewhat like an a*****e.

"No, but I can get you one."

Still laying down he raised a thumb and smiled softly through the dirt "thank you" he said recognizing the language. He then decided to sit up and see if any part of him other than his broken rib was harmed he didn't a simple check feeling around a bit turned out he had two ribs broken fun times. Reaching for his med kit on his back he grabbed a morphine syrette and injected it into his neck numbing the pain from the fall and the broken ribs.

Drennis left the clearing, and returned a few moments later with a doctor from his camp. The doctor appeared to be highly confused, but Haosin made him attend to Daemon.

"Sorry about hitting you before," Howie said, laughing nervously to the injured man as the medic worked.

It was weeks later - in that very clearing, whilst Drennis was absent - that Dr. James Cairndeer sat on the log with a shovel in his hand, admiring two small rocks by a patch of newly dug earth. He sighed as he set the tool down - staring at those names from afar. Those familliar names.

It was a strange feeling.

If one were to look up into the skies of Gaia on a clear day, one might notice something distant. However, most assumed it was a passing aircraft. No one would have believed that it was a massive Roman heavy cruiser.

Soon, the serene ambiance of the clearing was broken by the hum of an approaching dropship.

"Oh my God..." James said quietly as he heard the ship. Aside from the bushes rustling from various creatures from time to time, that ship was the only noise.

"What the hell is that?"

The craft hovered for a moment before touching down on the grassy field. Roman dropships had been sighted around Gaia in the past, especially during the Cult War.

A rear hatched opened, and the Imperator stepped out followed by five legionaries. They made for the the doctor at a very quick pace.

"Oh, wonderful that's-." The elf blinked as the soldiers came out. "What."

He dove behind the log for cover, grabbing his shovel off the ground and holding it tight. Should he need to use it... he'd probably die soon anyways, but scary people running at him made him feel the need to have a method of defending himself.

"You there! Elf! Come out!" the Imperator boomed as the doctor hid behind a log.

"We have no intention of doing you harm!"
