The blue-and-white teen strutted through the forest, slender legs striking out, paws padding along the ground. Her tail was carried low but her head held high. She was a princess, after all, and she was slowly but surely growing up.
Still, she had not seen a dragon. That was on her to-do list, but the idea of seeing one without her Knight in Shining Armor scared her a little. Nevertheless, the bouncing female took it upon herself to search far and wide for him.
The male, Siki, was older and more mature than she'd ever be. He had several years on her, but patience had been his virtue. Even now, the little female squealed with delight when she thought of him. Sikittok. Her Knight...
She came upon the river and dipped her head to drink, lapping at the cool running water. Her green eyes gleamed with mischief, mischief from being so far away from her Momma and Daddy. But she was a teen. Hadn't Momma started out away from home to find her soulmate at roughly Bluejay's age? Jay was pretty sure, and that gave her confidence.
The female tossed back her head and let loose a cry, a howl that rippled on the wind. "Come to me," it seemed to say and she sat her rump down on the soft earth, to wait. She wondered, rather gleefully, what kind of fantastic beast would come her way today.

Macha sat, hanging about the entrance to HanGeng’s den but as he was he was out doing whatever it was he did and she did not think it wise to disturb him, HanGeng always smiled whenever he saw her but for some reason Haku did not like her disturbing him when he was attempting to carry out his duties as a Beta. Macha wasn’t attuned like most women to the sights of jealously that males often portrayed she was too interesting in rough and tumbling with HanGeng, always out hunting with him in his share time. If she was perhaps she’d realise why Haku discouraged her disturbing his Beta but she was still young and naive in the ways of the heart.
She let out a large sigh and decided she had best occupy her mind and body on something else than the hope of HanGeng returning eager to hunt with her. She rose and took a quick look about before leaving the clearing in front of the den and breaking through into the undergrowth of the surrounding land. Macha was not one to walk leisurely or to waltz so it wasn’t long before she was eating up the ground beneath her in a quick trot, yet to break out into a running pace.
She got to the pack’s boundaries, smelling Haku’s scent markers on various key parts of plantation. She slowed her pace here; she knew it was fine to leave the pack’s territory, if only for a short while, but this was not the reason for her hesitation, leaving the territory meant leaving all the protection of the pack and the rights of the pack behind her. Her training with HanGeng meant she was capable of looking after herself now though. After a moment’s consideration she pasted out of the territory.
As she trotted through the terrain, curiosity driven, her ears pricked when the wind carried to them the call of another wolf. She did not recognize the tone but it beckoned her and she followed. The wind had carried the howl to her, so that meant she was down wind of the other wolf, thus she had the element of surprise and also the chance to creep up slowly on the other, observing the other and giving her time to judge the situation and whether she wanted to show herself to the other.
After a short walk, the wind brought her another signal; the scent of the other. She was a female and alone, along with that she was also close to a body of water. Water masked a lot of scent and Macha took a while to she if she could discover any other wolves scent that it might be hiding but as it was the other seemed to be totally alone.
Slowly now, she crept to the edge of a small shrub like bush and peered through, the female was an adolescent, like herself and seemed pretty harmless. She would have made HanGeng proud with all this caution but now Macha’s dominant side of her personality came through and she burst through the bush and she declared, ‘I am Macha, hello. What did you howl for?’
Macha stared at the other with endless black eyes, like that of a raven. The crow’s claw swayed slightly about her neck from the sudden movement, but it soon settled back upon her chest. She dumped herself down, the leather straps about her shoulders tighten and she shook them into a different position, the feathers that they held in place ruffled and swayed. She tilted her head, in her characteristic manner of piqued curiosity and awaited an answer.

It took awhile. Jay sprawled out near the river, tail dabbling at the surface as she flung it back and forth, finding a strange joy in the water splashing across the dirt in beads. She rolled over onto her back, rubbing and scratching and getting her petite female scent everywhere. That's when she heard the other's voice. Her head darted up, ears swiveling towards the sound. A grin broke out upon her face and she was on her paws, racing over before she could even stop to reason about why some other wolf might approach her.
She froze two steps away. Taking a scent, she figured that the stranger was female and young. Her eyes took in the rest: A black pelt with violet raven's feathers sprouting from her hackles like a goddess's headdress. Jay's eyes widened. "Are you a goddess? Goddess of the birds?" Her jaw dropped open in amazement. "My howl... It summoned you! It did!" she squeaked, dancing to her paws. Realizing her place, she dropped into a bow, tail tucking. "Oh, strong and beautiful goddess, what can I do for you?"

Macha simply didn't know what to make of the other wolf and her ridiculous statements, she stared at her in wonderment, her eyes wide and she felt as though her jaw was hanging slack, mouth open wide in amazement; was she mad? Macha swallowed the moisture in her mouth and regained a little of her composure and took a step backwards a little wary now of the other wolf. She seemed harmless enough, bowing down in front of her like that but she just didn't know what to expect of the other next.
A moment or more passed and finally Macha coughed slightly and voiced her opinions, 'A goddess?' Macha didn't even know what she meant by that and she soon followed up that question with an onslaught of disbelief, 'Of course your howl summoned me, it was so loud their were probably many others that heard it too.' with that Macha reluctantly let her eyes go from her cautious observation of the other female and looked about in case her howl had indeed brought other wolves to the area, but it seemed clear so far. 'Do for me? You were the one that howled! What was it you wanted?'
