I posted this in the art discussion forum, then I realized Im actually in a few art guilds, and I might actually get an intelegent response here <3

COPY/PASTE:

Heres the sort of thing Im trying to accomplish:

My problem? I dont know where to start! Ive seen some more primitive cardboard sculptures that appear to be made of cut-out triangles and a large ammount of hot-glue. I dont care for hot glue, but I assume I could use tape instead (I plan on covering it in paper mache anyhow)... but I dont know how well that'd hold.

Should I have some sort of wire-skeleton to apply the cardboard to, or would it be stable enough without? Is it possible to bend the cardboard into smooth curves like that, or is there some sort of trick?

If anyone has done this before, Id appreciate any advice you might have!
Thanks so much <3

It is possible to fold the cardboard in curves like those, you need to get a cardboard thick enough to support the structure but thin enough to fold it smoothly like it was a paper sheet. what you do is:
1. Construct a structure out of cardboard that is able to support the weight of the sculpture you're about to make.
2. Put your leg in an inverted L position, like you were walking on a stair.
3. Take the cardboard piece by an edge and press it gently against your leg until the complete piece of cardboard adopts a curvaceous shape. Now your cardboard is easier to handle and you can start cutting.

...I'm in a hurry, I'll finish this entry later D:
